Thank you so much! I watched other vids which didn't completely help because they were for American models with different connections. I had tried to disconnect carefully before this vid but failed. With this vid I had success. One disconnected with next to no effort. The other took a big tug. My two batteries, by the way, still seem strong on the tongue test. Why is this? Anyway, both of these and the master detector - which isn't beeping yet - are ten years old so I will change them. I can do so now thanks to you. I had had two plus days of very annoying every 30 second beeps! Without your help I'd have had days more. I was going mad! The beeps every 30 seconds are tortuous - seriously. Anyway, why are my batteries still strong on the tongue? I don't have an actual volt tester. I had tried vacuuming before hand, but to no avail. Vacuuming previously had done the trick.
ignore my post,i removed the alarm from the ceiling and it was not connected to the mains,it was a old obsolete wireless system connected to the phone when my elderly mother had a personal button alarm system,
Hi, i have a BRK DIOON model sa410lli ,and a black and a red wire ,there is no socket to pull out of the detector,i will have to snip the wires to replace the detector,i cant understand how all the you tube videos show more than two wires to connect, which BRK detector would i replace this with ,please!
Mine made 3 very loud beeps then nothing for about 5 hours and another 3 loud beeps. It took ages to get the plug out of it and now the white wire has come out of the connector :( Why would this be designed so that the whole thing has to be removed to install a battery?
Hi, can someone help me? I'm using the same unit which is a BRK 670MBX (2017 model) I did the same exact thing as it was chirping, placed a new battery but as soon as I insert it, the red light turns on, doesn't blink, it's a steady red light. I put the unit back anyways, but then the next day, it started chirping. Anyone tried this?
Hi @CK03, unfortunately not, so, we were just renting the house, told the landlord about it, electrician came to give us a new portable smoke detector, said to just leave the broken one as is, so, never resolved to this day.
