Shortly after we moved to Arizona the check engine light came on, in our 2016 Ford F-150 ecoboost. Took the Truck to Autozone got the code read and 10 mins of research and process of elimination guessed the simplest fix might be the correct one and choose to replace the EVAP canister valve.
To take off the engine cover you need a 10mm socket there are 2 nuts to remove, then remove your oil cap. The cover should easily lift off.
The EVAP canister valve is slightly to the right of center of the engine, there are two hose clips that are easy to undo and one wire clip. Once removed its super easy to just snap the new one in place and put the cover back on.
After a quick trip to the gas station, the check engine light turned off and the truck sounds much better. The gas mileage also improved.
This repair is so easy even a Blind guy like me could figure it out. I may not be able to drive anymore but it is still fun to work on them.
