Quick one here today on replacing the indexing pin on a Daystate rifle, I believe its the same setup for most of the rifles that share a similar block, Redwolf, wolverine, pulsar, renegade.
Great video as usual. Like the tip to take pressure if the core valve, some people have mistaken the bisley Greece that matt puts on the screws to be locktite, which should not be applied to a service area. Only other things to mention is that the air also should be removed as air pressure also pushes back on the core valve and can lock the screws. Finally changing out the index pin for a blank can put the power up slightly 🙂
Cheers Tony, done a few of these at the range now and not needed to bleed the air out just loosening the trigger screw has been enough so far, but ill keep that in mind in case we see a tight one, little jump in power 5-8fps with 8.44gn. Thanks for watching.
Recently purchase the 2020 red wolf with the older 10 shot mag, I want to use a single shot mag do I have to change the indexing pin out and replace with the blank or can I use the single shot loader with the old indexing pin still installed? Many thanks for your videos very informative.
The newer mags are better but I still don't like using them, I just load pellets straight into the breech now, no loading tray, that's how I get the best accuracy, Thanks for watching.
If a magazine actuator block is in place would you still a slight puff of air coming from the breech area. My gun has a pin which does not come when shot but I still feel a puff of air coming through.
Shouldn't do the pin is sealed with an o ring so it should not leak air when fired, if the pin is broken or the o ring is nicked you may get a puff of air, either that or the breach seal has gone. Thanks for watching.
You say that I had an FTP900 that within 200 pellets the reg let go, after getting it apart the inside of reg had green verdigris over the brass parts, mixed with a sizable lump of swarf which had nicked the piston seal, that was a brand new rifle, but to be fair after it was rebuild properly it worked very well.
