Replacing the Plastic Y-Guy Parts

Hello all! I had a subscriber ask me about those crappy little plastic pieces on the top of the boom. Every time I tensioned the y-guys this little part popped out and the sheave and rope ends up on the ground. I removed them and put the shaft right on the sheave tab. I believe all I needed was in the kit. Now I can tension them without them popping apart but sometimes the brake for the sheave in the arm doesn't hold so well. I glued a small piece of wire on the brake system on the 1350 to hold it better but haven't done any others yet. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps some of you with this problem.

Thks for the upload sir Much appreciated😊 And by the way the etch pc model part no. is YC510-6 & the 6 represents the color that matches for your livery

Awesome! Anytime my friend and glad it helped. 😉 I'll check my part number but I'm pretty sure it was listed for Thomen livery.

@@lvdrums i was wondering are we able to mod it to be like the 11200's y-guy rod connection as in using the yellow rod pc frm the 11200 & connect it up wit the 1750's y-guying system since the plastic crap part has been removed off.. Lastly was wondering if u are using whatsapp or messenger? so we can keep in touch with regrds bout our diecast model matters?will b much convenient to share info if ur dont mind

@@blood852000 That might work bro! That little plastic part is a swivel so it can be lowered into travel mode. I removed them and hooked up the rod directly to the sheave assembly. Although it doesn't swivel like it should when lowered, I'm ok with it since I leave them in work mode. Yeah man you can reach me at John Marcos on facebook messenger or email me anytime at jmarcos1414@gmail.com. I don't have whatsapp but I am on messenger. Send me a friend request and we'll hook up and be able to send pictures as well. Thanks bro!

I'm curious about that taper arrangement on the LR11000 I'd try a small piece of 010 brass shim. You can darn near cut it with scissors. Good luck

That's a good idea bro....thanks. I think in a few videos I posted you can see it. I'm gonna stick it on the model and see what I have...if it's sloppy I'm going to get the brass shim and see what happens. Thanks again for the great idea

Those parts are terrible. I did the same on my 1750. I can put a crazy amount of tension on my 11200s thou. No problem there

Yeah they are...drove me crazy. Now if I can get the brakes in the arms to hold I'll be happy lol. I fixed the 1350 brakes with a piece of wire glued on. It catches the groove in the arm much better. 11200 is such a beast.

So have you change it already?jus like what you did for your ltm1350

I can't remember if I took out a plastic piece on the 1750. Perhaps I threw them away if it did. All that's on it now is metal. I most likely would have just removed the plastic parts and reconnect it to what's there.

My son and I just got a liebherr 1350 just like the one you have and made videos on the assembly - we are currently trying to put it together and we are having trouble - any chance you can help us somehow?

Sure, what can I help you with?

So the brake i think is not working on one arm - when he tries to turn the centre to tighten the tension nothing happens - I watched your videos and you mentioned an issue with a brake? You mentioned that they can come off but it doesn't look like they do - can you put a video on how to fix that brake? Where did you glue the rod in?

@@carolynbutler9169 Hi Carolyn, yeah it sounds like you have the problem I had. Seems like they work one time and then constantly slip. First, make sure you push slightly on the sheave on the arm so it will turn similar to the winch drums that have brakes. Give me a little while and I'll post a video for you.
