I did a dumb thing while winterizing the RV and needed to replace the city water inlet. I show you how easy it is to do. Dicor Butyl Tape - astore.amazon.c... JR Products City Water Flange (black) - astore.amazon.c...
Thanks for the video, the part about turning the water pump on and checking for leaks was something I needed to see ahead of time inb replacing the inlet.
When I hooked up to city water, it flooded my camper. I couldn't find where the leak was. So I consulted the dealer and he said it is most likely this part that needs to be replaced. I have the exact one and it looks pretty simple to replace. Crossing my fingers hoping this will fix the leak.
I changed ours and forgot to put in the little rubber gasket between the hose in the RV and the new fitting. It didn't leak till it got really cold out. Luckily I still had the old fitting with the gasket still stuck to it. Great diy video 👍
Good video. Thank you. I was winterizing and realized the screen filter was missing and pink stuff was all leaking out. I'll replace that little screen and see if that will fix it.
Mine started leaking and I put an off and on switch like you have on your water hose and turned it off it doesn't leak now I don't use Mine but it started spraying water out. Next time I go to an RV shop I will buy one. I hope it won't damage any thing I think I am all right for now.
@@TheWoodsOnline i thought it might back something up but it is fine. Next time I go to a RV shop I'll pick one up. The one on there is mettle not plastic like his .I live off grid so I don't need it and I could put a hose on it a fill a bucket. I' might not even put the new one on unless there is a problem.
Found a leak on my 2021 Surveyor Legend from the pantry. We replaced the cheap plastic Swivel valves with brass ones from Sharkbike. Leak is now a slow drip. Turns out it is the B&B Molders RV Camper City Water Inlet Flange with Check Valve Black. Leak is coming from it's plastic valve. Just ordered a replacement with a brass valve instead. Why do RV companies install cheap plastic parts?
Cost. Imagine if they saved a $1 on each piece in just one rv. When you multiply that by the thousands they produce, it’s a good bit of money in their pocket.
I would of went with the brass one and replaced the seal. A old seal = leaks down the road. Even if it's a drip that = rotted wood rvs flex while going down the road. Better safe than sorry .
You stated that this was caused because of something you didn't do when you winterized. Could you tell me what that was? I think I did something wrong when winterizing also because I had the same problem. Not sure what I did wrong. Thanks
If your water supply is on and then you turn on your water pump the added pressure from both sources will destroy your check valve. I learned to turn off my water supply if going to use the water pump.
I'm not sure which hose you're asking about? But from the outside, you connect a standard size water hose that are made for your "RV". The water hose is white, to let you know it is for an RV, and safe to drink from, and you can buy it at WalMart.
I wish you would have added a video of the "leak". After my neighbor "fixed" a leak I had. I couldn't get water! & when I took my hose off (opps I left the pump on) WATER WAS "POURING" OUT!!! I didn't think this was possible? But soon realized he must have broke something! NEVER TOUCH ANYONE ELSES RV!! CUZ WHEN YOU THINK YOURE HELPING... YOURE PROBLY NOT!!!!!
Maybe. Wasn’t sure if that was the issue or what it was. Was easier to just replace the whole thing. Less than $20 to change and quick. I could of gone in and taken it apart and replaced the check valve, then that might of not been it.
@@TheWoodsOnline my fresh water fill has that same white piece inside. Is that a check valve? It weeps water and I'm not even hooked up to city water. My city water does not leak.
Not bad.. you get right to it and don't fill the time with useless banter or BS. Only one tip: Get someone to run the camera for you, or put the camera on a tripod. This leaves your hands free, and your actions can be followed a lot more easily.
