On some carts the new tire may hit the bed of the cart if like on yours the wheel has a different size spindle. A piece of PVC pluming pipe will take up the space on the axle to prevent the rubbing.
I have had it with the small cart tires. They don't last. I would like to make the under carriage taller for better dumping and use an axle that will accept rear lawn tractor tires.
When I replaced my rims and tires used a set from harbor freight there a little more broader. I carefully taped off and cut a a little less than a quarter of and inch off each end of peaces that hold the axle smoothed it out with a drimnel a little prime better than new more support
Eric Just seen your video in SSB on CB radio Good Video I really like it For me CB Radio is pretty Much Dead in Hawaii Except for the Big Island but where I live its Dead that why I got my Ham License But Im still keeping my Uni den Grant Radio in a Box Keep up the good work there are people watching you Aloha and 73 LOL
thank you so much No male muscles in my home I'm a DIY gal Could not figure out to use a hammer with my needle nose pliers to get the pin out Duah lol THANK YOU!
My wheels and axle are rusted/fused together. I tried to spray WD40 and let it sit but no luck. How can I get the wheels off? They both need to be replaced. TIA
take 1 lug nut and put it on slightly- just a few threads- then take a sledgehammer, and smack it from the inside hitting the rubber until it comes free. If there is no place to put a lug nut (depends on the model) the idea is the same. Brute force
I blew out a bearing in my older Craftsman dump cart. Wheel and tire are fine. I'm having a hell of a time finding the correct radial flanged bearings for these cart tires. The axles 3/4 so I need 3/4 ID wheels. They're $40-$55/ea at Tractor Supply. I can't just spending that when all I need is 2 stinking bearings. How on Earth did you find a wheel and tire for $16? What size is that axle?
Got a pair today at HarborFreight for $28 each, with 3/4 bore bearings and a spare set for 5/8 (knock out one set, press in the other), plus a couple of other shims attached for other adjustments. Less than half the price of TSC for similar. My AgriFab has a 3/4 axle, as does my Craftsman. Add a pair of washers and cotter pins and you're good to go.
@@FarpointFarms I have tried that. It looks like it's a solid piece that was under washer, almost like it would screw off but doesn't turn. I have sprayed with WD 40 too.
Spray the shaft with lube and let it sit for a day. Then come back and spray some more and tap the shaft with a hammer a few times to shock it a bit and hopefully let the lube in.
If you still have the assembly manual it should list the part number. Since these are all mostly the same, my guess is it will cross reference to one on Amazon or Ebay.
My local steel supplier sells 1/2-in, 5/8 and 3/4 (and others) smooth steel rods by the foot. Then all you need is a hole for the cotter pin on each end, depending upon how yours attaches to the cart (many just clamp onto the rod). A 3-ft rod of 5/8 or 3/4 at the hardware store is $15.
Long time ago video. Still relevant today, except price! Omg I went to tsc today and tires were 39$ each without rims. Uggg inflation got me again! How’s the back doing? Thanks again for the videos!
looks like a shit tire that will rot out in a year and a half. My problem is that the dump cart I have is super crap and reaplcement wheels have hubs that are too wide and the diameter of the axle is slightly less than 5/8"
For the life of me I cant find a wheel to fit. My axle seems to be an 1/8 of an inch bigger than the hole on the new tires. I have the Powercare dump cart, looks like the same one you have. Do you have a link you comment with for the specific tire you use? Thanks
