Hi do you think you can tell me if you remember, where I can connect the hose marked in blue? Because I don't find the other connector. Thank you if you can help me
Any tips for separating the exhaust manifold from the block I got everything unbolted and it seems to just be stuck to the block I tried to hit it with a 2x4 from above and below. Just to clarify its completely unbolted. (10 exhaust nuts/2 bots on the bottom bracket, cat v-band, and all the oil/coolant lines/waste gate actuator)
I believe it’s somewhere around 11-15 nm but yes, until firm. Once they’re firm, double check the rest and tightening it uneven will result in loose nuts
Or BMW could have just top mounted the turbo I recently replaced my GFB diverter valve with a new one and one of the bolts was stripped and I actually had to removed the turbo just to extract the bolt from it not an easy job but I got to inspect the turbo I guess
I spent 4 hours to take out the turbo on 2013 328i , had the car on jack stands no lift, this job is not easy, the oil lines are MF to take out absolute bS design, tomorrow I’ll put back in , doing this for my son, never again 🤪
@@servicedbycerda2666 just had a look its £800 😂😂 one way damn, so expensive, guess i just gotta keep looking, what tools do you need for this job apart from a ramp
If you are only replacing the O-Rings going to the turbo, you don’t have to remove turbo. You can go through the right front wheel well. If your replacing both ends, the turbo will have to be removed.
My line is leaking, top one, after replacing the o rings. The rubber hose is messed up. I have limited tools and my car's on ramps. Was extremely hard to do the o rings this way and now I've gotta do the line itself..are U sure there is no way to do without removing turbo? Fyi , to do o-rings , isn't that bad, would've easy at a shop... But removing turbo in my parking garage is not going to happen... My top line is leaking from rubber hose..where does it go to? Thanks
To access o rings I only removed plastic belly pan, put car on ramps then reached up through axle. under car... Some prying from top to remove bothl lines.
I'm tempted to cut rubber hose and repair wirh a t splitter and 4 clamps, just to get car going again but the margin of error for this is too much.. Any advice to access the other end of this line...
@@CityHunt3R911 if it don't make any noise and doesn't boost then might be a wastegate problem, you can get that tested quite easily at a exhaust shop, or even by using a obd2 dongle and torquelite app setup boost monitoring and see whats happening, are u hundred percent sure its your turbo, it could just be a gearbox issue if its only in those two gears
@@CityHunt3R911 and i haven't yet bought a new turbo as BMW themselves can't source one for me, so i am getting it reconditioned same as you just said putting in new cartridge with a good reputable company, make sure to get one that provides warranty for at least 1 year
