I dont care what people say. Choi taek deserved to be with Deoksun. He absolutely did. His expressions his actions, they always displayed his true innocent love. Even though he was the shy and quietest one, he knew he loved her and wanted to be with her more than anyone.

When deoksun said to taek " grow up and marry me" it really came true 😂

I watched this Kdrama last year and I still don't really understand why people still felt that Jung Hwan deserved her more. Taek was going through so much and looked so tired and depressed and Deok Sun helped carry some of that burden, he even relied on smoking just to relieve some of his stress. Without her, he would have just been playing GO(the chess-looking game) without any care for his health and no one to take care of him(well... I guess his dad could, but cmon, I doubt Taek would have mentioned how difficult of a time he was having to his dad). Jung Hwan, on the other hand, didn't have as difficult of a life as Taek did and I also felt as if he didn't like her as much as Taek did too(it took Hwan so long to admit his feelings while Taek basically showed it every episode). I'm definitely going to rewatch this drama, the ending hit me so hard, it was kinda bittersweet for me, just seeing them move out of their neighborhood made me sad, it was a long 20+ Episode Kdrama, I basically went through their life journey with them. Seeing them grow older and older made me so sad knowing that they would definitely miss the times when they were kids when they would just be messing around and having fun and stay in the same house as a big family with their parents and siblings. This is probably one of my favourite family Kdramas which was sad yet funny, giving me all kinds of emotions.

I guess i was blinded by my stance in team Junghwan that I didn't see how lovely they were. I still wish the husband was Junghwan but wow Taek truly looked at her as if she was his world and she accepted him for all that he is and their love was just so pure that it was only right..... Taek was honest with himself and that's why they were the better match. 3 years later I finally accept it😂

Taek showed her his love each time they were together. They deserve each other.

I watched it last year, and i used to think she ended up with Junghwan... But i am glad she ended up with Taek. Love needs bravery, Junghwan had so many chances to confess, whereas taek who spent more time constantly moving to play the game, the little time he had he gave it to her. Confessed . They made each other feel the main character of their lives. So for me Taek was the choice❤️❤️ and i was so happy when it turned it that way (though i remember shedding a tear when he Junghwan is in the car) P.S everyone acted SOOOO good. The plot and every character ❤️❤️❤️

I truly didn’t get the hype about Park Bo gum until I saw his portrayal as Taek. Now his smile is etched into my memory. Taek is everything Deoksun could’ve needed in a partner. Being the middle child, she finally got the undivided love she was longing for all along. Teak is someone who not only accepts her little quirks but loves them unabashedly. They both suffered a great deal in different aspects of their lives, Teak more than Deoksun perhaps but when together it was pure joy. And yes of course who can miss Teak’s infectious smile whenever he was around Deoksun. Oh how i loved how Taek wore his heart on his sleeve when it came to matters of Deoksun. One of my favourite scene is when Deoksun is sent to give food to Taek and she couldn’t come right back because of taek’s silly demands lol she ends up staying with him causing her to miss the dinner. And now this a girl who absolutely loves food. That’s all the audience needs to know about how they fell in love. And all the times she took care of Teak’s health in silence ugh i can go on and on about the love they shared. It was there all along. Crept up slowly. They balance each other out so well! On first impression, taek might appear like a meek side character but he is the main character which is more evident after the first half. He is tenacious and affectionate. Teak is green flags all the way. Uri Best boy taek ❤️ Also this is the first Park Bo Gum drama I saw and he was barely there in the first few eps so don’t call me baised lol I had no idea he’s the main lead so all credit goes to the actor and the way his character was written and portrayed ✨

At the beginning of reply 1988 I was shipping Deok Sun with Jung Hwan, but going further and further I began to notice the spontaneous smiles of Taek as soon as he saw her, the attitude of Deok Sun trying to take care of him in her own way, the fun for the little things like when they ate chips and then Bo ra "let them take the bus" and they stayed on the beach, and all the other great scenes that follow. I believe that if Jung Hwan had been more decisive and hadn't wasted the opportunities to get closer and closer to Deok Sun this ship would have come true sooner, Deok Sun was trying to get closer to him in that period (an example is that gift, the pink shirt), why did he keep it a wall? Unfortunately, love comes true not only if the feelings are reciprocated, the timing also affects a lot, throwing yourself headlong like that kiss that Taek gave for a moment I THOUGHT IT WAS A DREAM and I was like "NO CASPITERINA". An example of this timing thing is also seen in Strong woman Do Bong Soon. I like them a lot as a couple, I wish there were more edits of the two of them :( I'm into them and into this song

I watched this movie when I'm about 20 years old. That time I like Jung pal-Duksun couple. when I grew up and watched again, I understand why Taek deserved with Duksun most. He had pure love but he is very decisive. Jung hwan had many chances too. If his love for Duksun was big enough, he wouldn't have missed it

I shipped her first with the second lead but the twist I didnt expect when I watched this. I thought it was brotherly love and care. Their chemistry is beyond level and his smile is so infectious huhu.

I could not even dare myself to ship these two nd hoping ki they will be an endgame coz didn’t want to break my heart . Taek turned out to be my favourite ckt 😭 nd I was scared for him to loose that smile (full smile) if she rejects him but the backstory nd his efforts gave me a hope 😭♥️

I remember watching this beautiful show. I shipped her with Taek from the start because they were so precious together but I conceded that Junghwan was a good son and his character set up seemed like a tried-and-true male lead role. I think my mind exploded around episode 18, was it? I kept adjusting my expectations and then boom. Junghwan became a wistful "so-close" to cry over and Taek...got to be with someone he loved for a very long time before any of them were even old enough to understand things like affection.

They were always each others first and true loves.
