I'm not Korean nor was I born anywhere near the 80s. But damn, this drama hit me in every spot. I can relate to it in a different level. I literally cried every episode, there's just always one scene that's so heartwarming and stirring, wether it's a happy or sad scene, it just hits so much. Like that time when Deok Sun's dad bought her a cake, when Jung Hwan's mom had her menopause, When Jung Hwan and Jung Bong talked about what they wanna do in their lives, when Deok Sun's Dad started crying and saying "I can't see my mother anymore.", when Do Rryong's Mom watched him eat, when Taek's dad cried and when he told him he loves his son, when Deok Sun read the plaque for their father, when No Eul's girlfriend was welcomed to their home, when Bo ra's dad gave her money, when Jung Hwan's dad was feeling all gloomy, Bo ra and Sun woo's wedding, the wedding anniversary, when Sun woo's mom was having a hard time because of her mother in law, and of course, that very last scene of the neighborhood. There's so much more. Everything is just so beautiful. The mood, the music, the characters and their acting, the props and little things, the comedy, the conversations and the simplicity of it. Nothing will compare to this amazing work of art.

Probably the warmest drama I have ever watched up to date. Aside from crying out of sadness because my ship did not end up together, this drama mainly made me cry because of happiness. Definitely one of the best dramas out there.

When I first started watching R88 I was really just looking for a decent show to pass time. Little did I know that it was going to scar me for life, throw me on a lifelong roller coaster ride of emotions and stick to my heart for ever and ever. 😟 I'm an emotional wreck!

Oh my god, this was beautiful. I would have liked a clearer ending for all of the characters (what happened to Jung-hwan and dong-ryong?! are the parents still in touch?! who had children?! I need to know!), but the show was so much more then shipping wars and romance. It was family and friends and youth and memories and this video captured that perfectly. I cried my eyes out. The best family series I've ever seen. don't get bored when you watch it again. And every time I cry when I watch it, I was hoping they wouldn't break up because it's hard when you leave something you're used to and all of a sudden it disappears.😭😭❤️

This drama has taught me a lot in life, how to be a better daughter and a friend. I was attached to every character and I can relate to them most of the time. Most times when I watch a drama I’ll skip scenes that I find boring but not with this drama. I didn’t skip anything. It was just so amazing, family, friendship, romance, comedy, one of the most amazing dramas I’ve ever seen.

I cry not because I'm sad, but because I felt like I lived with them throughout this series and when they are parted ways, I did as well. The most amazing thing about this drama is that it really tells you that time doesn't stop for anyone, that changes are happening every second. The gang truly lived out their youth, they were lucky to have those memories to cherish for the rest of their lives. My love for this drama grows every second that I that I think about it. Best kdrama i've seen so far, this's kdrama not only focused on romance but it is more on different kind of family, and friendship and youth. And of course the nostalgic feelings was before androids and internet became popular.

It's been a week since I watched Reply 1988 and until now, I could never push myself to watch anything but this series. I am 6 years late and I'm pretty sure I'll spend the next 6 years moving on from this beautiful drama. I'm especially heartbroken for Jung Hwan and equally devastated by the fact that they all left their neighborhood one by one. But that's life... growing up means letting go. As for me, I don't think I will ever grow apart from everything this drama has made me feel. What I'd pay just to watch this for the first time once again.

watching it now on Netflix..my goodness what a beautiful drama..it makes you cry but most of the times laugh out loud. Beautiful friendship..neighborhood like one big family typical among Asians like us. Exchanging foods, helping in times of needs, merrymaking on special occasions. Each episode makes my heart flutter, pop culture is so fun to watch in the 80s. I LOVE IT!!!!Park Bo Gum is like a piece of heaven.

Omg i cried watching this I still can't move on lol they all perfectly portrayed their roles, amazing actors and actresses. Kudos to those people behind the casting, the writer and the director. Bo Gum Taek is my new crush now hehe. Hyeri was so funny I love her. I was also in high school in the 80s so this drama is so relatable.

Okay let me just start with this fmv really captured it all. I watched the first episode and cried halfway through it, and I literally don't cry ever. Not even at a finale. Their acting and meanings were so powerful you can't not cry and I just loved how you showed it. Honestly I don't even care about the romance all the time in this show cause the families and friendships and memories and messages all show so much.
