@@scottwickett1273 Because I think the problems with the Pistons isn't the draft....I like their guys and they are getting better. What he failed at was getting guys around them to enhance their strengths and help them develop, and fill other roles. He didn't sign a guy who is 6'10 and could shoot, and they were available for not a lot. He didn't fish someone out of another G League team when those guys were easy to get and they were literally at a point where trying something else would have been more than appropriate. He waited until they were completely out of it, had worn any value out of Killian Hayes before they purge the team.....already out of it before December. To be clear, Ausar has potential if used right. Duren is growing into a double double machine if his defense improves he will be good. Ivey has work to do, but all is far from lost on him. Sasser might be alright. Beef Stew is worth a crap. That's not bad drafting. But you have to build a team around it.

Tom Gores doesn't care how bad this is. He doesn't care about the fact that Cade will be leaving. They are totally unaware of the fact that this whole rebuild is one season away from completely falling apart, if it hasn't already. Tom gores will hire another idiot, and that idiot will allow this idiocy to continue. We will sign two bench veterans for 10-15 mil a year for three years, they will see very little playing time and the team will be just as bad as last year. If they don't sign a star in free agency it's all over. They absolutely NEED to sign a star, there is no ifs ands or buts it needs to happen. If it doesn't, this team is without a doubt doomed.

Why not Coach Casey? Coach Casey is well respected around the league. Coach Casey doesn’t get the credit he deserves for building that Toronto roster. Nick “garbage” Nurse gets all of the credit for taking over a 59 win team that upgraded with Kawhi and Danny Green and was able to play in the east without LeBron. I honestly don’t think Troy is the reason for all this (he’s a part of it all obviously). It’s a cold world man because if Monty wasn’t hired, and we had even a mediocre season, Weaver keeps his job. Dealing with Blake, Cade being out, Tom Gores overruling him, and Monty playing the worst players on his team.. I don’t put all this on Troy but it’s better for him to leave. If we keep Monty, that would be worse than keeping Troy imo I think Troy did achieve a few of his goals. He saw it as a complete restore/rebuild, so for him getting a lot of decent young players and cap space was an objective. He did that. We are still relatively positioned well for the future in that regard. He never even got to a hire a coach here.

So essentially after arguably the worst season of any team in all of nba history the only decision they're gonna make is to hire a babysitter? All the bs ku said about them doing a bunch of stuff this off-season is garbage. We will see a Troy weaver and monty Williams team with pretty much the same players as last season. It will be another sub 20 win season and Cade will be requesting a trade. The only way they can stop Cade from leaving is by firing the front office and acquiring at least one star player to help Cade. If they don't have at least 30 wins next season Cade will be gone. They absolutely need to go all in during the free agency and we all know that they definitely will not do that. Ku saying they are aware they need to make some big changes is ridiculous. The idea that they need to make a big change has been true for 3 years and nothing has happened. It won't happen. They will sit on their hands and do nothing this off-season. This front office is completely and utterly clueless and to have continued faith in that to stop is truthfully hilarious. Gores, weaver, and Williams will never get their heads out of their asses. They have no idea how bad this is and they have zero intention to fix it.

Kevin Ollie might not be a good coach but he definitely would’ve helped our players develop, I’ve seen him bench mikal on multiple occasions for guys that deserved minutes, who does monty give minutes to? @LockedOnPistons , it seems most fans are unaware of the significance of the “General Manager” position in determining the production of a team pertaining to the coaching and roster construction ; it is the “G.M.” who hires the coach and players , so to overlook the activities of this individual, when productivity is low during a season, while criticizing the coach and players efforts seems ignorant ; I would suggest doing “due diligence” and being insightful going forward on your podcast , when covering the “pistons” by assessing the general manager position , so your critiques of the organization seem rational and relatable to the fan base.

Let’s just be real and honest here Weaver never had full decision making autonomy here. We clearly saw this with the hiring of Monty Williams. He was Gore’s hire not Weavers. I don’t trust nor have confidence in Gore’s ownership and decision making capability as it relates to this basketball team. The Pistons are now the new old Lions S.O.P. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Can you tell me who is responsible for the Bagley trade, and preferring Wiseman over five SRPs, and trading three more of those for a tiny and old shooting guard instead of drafting a wing, and not cashing out sooner on Bojan, and the other Bagley trade, and acquiring Joe Harris instead of hiring an NBA player with two working legs? Because whoever did that all that shit is a fucking moron!

Be careful what you wish for. Look at the last 20 years of draft picks we've had and tell me which GM has accumulated the most/best player prospects. Weaver had less to work with in talent when he got here and more meddling hands, voices and eyes as he sought to navigate his responsibilities, yet this fanbase wants to make him the sacrificial lamb. It's ridiculous. Did he make some questionable decisions, "Hell Yes". But when he got better talent for Cade, guess what, Monty chose not to play them, which eventually led Weaver to move these players. Both bigs from the Wizards trade. So y'all need to realize where the real problems are. Keep getting excited about those other castoffs if you want to, let's see if they get us more options, quality prospects than we got with Weaver.

I'm not sure which guys Monty refused to play other than Ivey. Also Monty was winning games with Gallionari and Muscala playing. Morris has been good since recovering from injury and would have helped more down the stretch than the scrubs who replaced him. Shucks Bagley is better than Wiseman

He's definitely a 2 so in theory it's a fit, but he's too small.

@@scottwickett1273 Yup he's a nightmare as a point guard and can't be effective guarding anyone. I'm blaffed how he got exposed out of Houston's system. But in the end it's just a #25 pick. It's a shame elite drafter Troy didn't pick GG Jackson instead

@@rafaelsantana4905 It's simple: he was a very good college defender (Flynn was too!), he just doesn't meet the size/strength/quickness threshold to be one of those against NBA players (Flynn doesn't either!).

I think he's solid fundamentals, the problem is that opposing players can just flat out ignore him their way to the rim This is why I don't want Dillingham or Sheppard or McCain. You gotta have immense defensive IQ at that height like Caruso, Suggs and Payton II. Good small defenders is a dying breed

@@rafaelsantana4905 Sheppard is quite literally a Caruso-level instincts guy, I do not put him in the same category as the other two. (I don't want Rob, and I am completely mystified by the McCain hype.)
