SABRE 5.0 Crossfire pepper spray or a TASER - which would you rather use against an attacker? Both safety tools are tested in this KUTV News segment. The reporter in the video is on the receiving end of both weapons as a comparison. His conclusion? "I thought that the pepper spray was gonna be easier, but [it was] by far the worst. I mean, I would get TASE'd four times before I ever get pepper sprayed again."
Like the reporter's experience shown in the video, a person's reaction after being sprayed with SABRE 5.0 would include the following: swelling of mucous membranes of eyes, nose & throat; shortness of breath; drying of eyes; involuntary eye closure; painful burning of the eyes, nose & throat; and psychological effects (e.g., fear, panic, anxiety). Other common effects of pepper spray are: nasal & sinus discharge; coughing; and hyperventilation. These effects of pepper spray provide numerous advantages to the consumer, including crippling pain and discomfort that provide an individual with a chance to escape an attacker. The effects of pepper spray are far more lasting than the other way in the video.

Totally agree with reporter. As a Sheriff Deputy, it's our protocol to have both during training. I personally would rather be tased in the groin than pepper sprayed. Stuff is the worst. My advise, when an officer instructs you to lawfully comply or he will pepper spray OR tase you.....Listen to him and comply.

My dad was tear gassed in an Army gas chamber during basic training, and pepper sprayed and tased during police academy. He said pepper spray was the worst out of all of it, because it lasted for days. The gas chamber was horrific, but a little while later you were fine; the next day you felt great, as it cleared out your sinuses amazingly. The taser was aweful, but it only lasted 5 seconds.

Just got CS gassed and OC sprayed like three days ago, and yes the OC spray is worse in my opinion cuz it last way longer than CS gas.

I have been both tazed and sprayed. I can say for sure spray is worse. I got sabre red gel to my eyes. It wrecked my day. 1 hour of agony.

I love that guy. I've been tazed and sprayed, spray is by far worse. It lingers and sends you into panic mode so it feels worse. But if you get tazed you tense up and usually slam your head in the ground. So tasers are far more deadly..

To be honest, if it were a choice between the 2, I'd have to agree, I got hit with just a little when a friend and I were messing around, he wanted to show how tough he was, I've had a few electric shocks too and I have got vindaloo sauce in my eye, I'd rather be tased over and over than get even the smallest amount of curry sauce in my eye, that's how bad pepper spray feels. With an electric shock, it's more just unpleasant than actual pain you tense up and lose control of your muscles, but once it's over, it's over, with pepper spray, you can still feel it hours later. And it is way worse!

@@5688gamble first time making salsa for me I did a mix of jalapeno, habanero, and serrano.......washed my hands thoroughly after, took my contacts out to go to bed (hehe so I thought). The pain was absolutely unimaginable, like shoving hundreds of needles in your eyes. Woke up next morning with eyes that looked like I spent the night partaking in the devil's lettuce and not sleeping.

A while back I went through OC spray training for a federal security job at a local dam. I have a pretty low tolerance for this kinda stuff as it is, but I really didn't expect it to be this bad. Full 5 second stream ear to ear, drop down, twenty push ups, back up on my feet to locate attacker, partially subdue attacker, find the tossed weapon, retrieve the weapon, then command the attacker using the weapon to his knees. It took me nearly a full minute to complete a 30 second task. It felt impossible to open my eyes. Seriously sucked. Your skin literally feels like it's on fire. Even after decon, the pain lingered for at least 45 minutes.

That is actually true. My City's Police Department gives free training and self defense classes as well as you get tazer'd and pepper sprayed. Since Pulse has tasers so fuckin cheap, It honestly helps to know what might happen if somehow you dry stun or a prong gets into you, as well as Pepper spray and what to do if You are being robbed and have been assaulted. I pepper sprayed my ex one time and It honestly saved my life. I am not joking.

Pretty much sums it up. OC is the worst. I too have a low tolerance, pain persisted for a total of like an hour and a half because during the decon took like 40 minutes of constantly reactivating the OC with water.

I am a retired electrician. 12000.00 volts D/C is a lot of power but the charge carries little if any amperage. If there were 30 amps riding on 12000.00 volts the guy would be a dead man!

I was sprayed with the same thing my first time for my local sheriffs office. Saber Red 5.0 stream, 4.7 million scoville, worst experience of my life. It burns for days and everytime you shower it reactivates.

Note with all these tests they give the subject like this reporter time to prepare such as not breathing and covering one eye which you wouldn't do if using this in self defense. Every second in your favor counts, don't give that time to the bad guys by giving them a heads up, just spray across eyes/nose/mouth in a Z pattern if they don't back off.

In middle school I knew two girls that used to be friends. One girl, Tiffany, decided that she was too cool for the other girl. So Tiffany spent some time picking on the girl and teasing her for becoming friends with the school's cop. So one day Tiffany decides to beat the girl up and the cop ran up (kids were everywhere trying to get a look) and he pepper sprayed Tiffany in the face and she flew backwards and hit a brick wall behind her. Everybody started running. 😂

Pepper spray is better for self defence than a stun gun and taser. Buy a pepper spray for self defence if your country doesn't allow you to have firearms.

It's true, it feels like someone slung molten lava in your face. Some pepper spray is much more powerful than others, make sure you do your homework before up buy.
