When someone isn't doing well, people try to show him/her down persistently. The person feels embarrassed but still keeps smiling and cracking jokes, just to get out of the situation. Trust me it hurts. Hurts a lot. And on a stage, my God? Just because you have the liberty to ask question to a celebrity? He is a blood and flesh human. He too has emotions. Stand there in his place and make someone ask you about some failure of yours!

If i were abhishek, I would answer: "I will be seen in a male lead as soon as someone find me suitable for that particular sole role" as simple as that. Why pretending so much even after understanding the question. #BeYourself

I feel bad for Abhishek sometimes, it can be very difficult to have a legendary actor as a father..too many expectations come out of it...and if you're not upto it despite giving your best, it can be very frustrating...Still i think he could have handled this question better by keeping it crisp...
He's come to terms with whatever his career has offered him over time and is generally quite humble. But one can lose it sometimes. Afterall we're humans..

@@anish3116 How the reporter would come to know whether he has got offers or not? There are so many actors who failed at the beginning of their career and later resurrected their career. Shahid Kapoor is best example. He struggled to get movies at the beginning of his career for so many years and then later he did so many movies as male lead in it. Abhishek could have easily said that he hasn't got any such script with him as male lead that interests him. Abhishek is a great person and down to earth but on this particular occasion, he did not answer the question perfectly. The question was perfect as almost every actor who started as a lead and later did a supporting role, gets to hear this question.

after Breathe into the Shadows, Abhishek's career has taken a turn........ we can clearly see how hurt he was back then with such embarrassing questions I have nothing but respect for him......... he has struggled a lot, I'm so happy he is finally getting the recognition he deserves....... he has always been a phenomenal actor but people didn't show any interest in his movies, I hope he lives up to his surname and I believe he will.

Actually it's not a valid question. It's only "valid " per say because we have this notion of hero and heroine being two main cast . Films should not be about one person. It's a product of different characters

It's now 2023, and Abhishek has not had a single solo lead male film in cinemas since this question was asked. There is a reason why he responded the way he did. Just watch his work in guru, Delhi 6, yuva, bunty babli, Manmarziyan, Breathe into the shadows, Ludo. First watch all these then you will realise he is 1000 times better than Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor. He is indeed good actor all he needs good scripts then he will nail it

He could have just accepted the fact. Could have said “yes, i am reading the scripts and havnt got the opportunity to play the lead role yet and at the same time working hard to hone my skills. Showing this attitude will not him anywhere. Try to be humble and it will take you to places.

Wondered why AB was so rude with the humble journalist. AB must understand and feel who is bad and who is not. AB was so nice with Simi. This incidence surprised me. After watching him talking with Simi I thought he is different from his mother. But now I know that he has the "mean spirit" of his mother, sometimes.

@@edne3232 Well it depends , maybe the question put him in a weird situation where he didn't know how to come out of it. But then again we have also seen his confidence in other interviews like in one he was asked about the Tanushree Dutta controversy and everyone applauded his response as it was thoughtful and smart. To be honest, this was the only weird moment I have seen of him in camera. This and being in Oprah. Other than that , guy is a total gentleman inside and outside.
Yeah Divine Pawar, Abhishek is not even 10% of Amitabh in acting or looks....In fact, if Amitabh was not his father he would never have been considered for a hero's role in movies. I think Rekha should have at least had an illegitimate child from Amitabh. Otherwise also she is single only....so what was the harm
