I am being told to mount mine under my hardtail bridge, above the Cigar Box lid. Basically the other builders say to cut a shallow hole in the top of the lid to make room for it, but I'm worried my lack of a steady hand may cause me to punch all the way through the box lid. I'm glad to see that you can have it under the lid, as long as it's under the bridge and it will still pick up enough vibration
I just built my second cbg. I took your advice on mounting the piezo under the bridge with hot glue and a card. Glad I did! It sounds great! Thanks a lot!👍😎🎶
Thanks for the video. I was just getting to mount a thick piezo next to the neck near the bridge. I'll go ahead and drill then place it on top of the neck. I like the saddle you used. I'm going to borrow that idea.
Just revisiting and noticed the design on your t shirt made me think of a cross...JESUS I can't see very good but just what I saw when I looked at you today
Did this with a bit of veneer under the piezo, bearing on the neck. Good bass, treble not so prominent but the tone is excellent, even through a hi-fi AUX channel. Thank you, sir.
The new placement sounds a lot cleaner and has better timber, but I would leave the first piezo in place. For a certain song you may like the edgy sound of the first piezo. Likewise you might use two different piezos for a stereo effect. You could use a stereo jack and have the mono plug default to your under the saddle piezo.
Del, I have always found ur placement of ur piezo interesting, I place my on the lid under where the bridge placement will be. And I don’t screw down my lids, but I don’t cut them apart either, thinking the more vibration the better for the sound....try one.....
Hi del I’m just going to start building my first Pizeo pickup cbg do I need to earth the strings like I do with my other humbuckers I watch your videos and don’t see you doing it?? Cheers jason
I tried to look you up on outlook but when I put your name in it said no results found. I have Ben ordering parts for my first build and have a few questions you might be able to help me out on.
