I had a pothos that did the same thing. When I repotted it, it did okay. I waited a couple weeks and used hydrogen peroxide mix and it took off. Great video. Much love and many blessings from Myrtle Beach, SC.
Renee Allen thank you! After I repotted this pothos I put it out in my north facing car port. All the new leaves are so much more variegated and much more bright than the older leaves. Good idea on the hydrogen peroxide! I’ve had to treat some of my other plants with that because of fungus gnats. Some RU-vidr mentioned how they disinfect their soil with Hydrogen Peroxide so I’ll probably do that with some of mine that look just a little worse for ware. Hope all is well there with hurricane Dorian baring down on you guys!
Oh wow this is awesome! I’m going to repot a pothos in a older pit and I’m going to clean out my pot too! Didn’t think about the disease being in the pot 😊
The Pothos was so happy. Pushing out new growth tripled in size. I had also let it be outside for a good while and the variegation really started being vibrant with the new growth. I did rehome that pothos though. Hopefully it’s as happy with its new owner as it was with me. I had to re-home most of my house plants because we had a big move but I’m working on my new collection. New videos coming soon :)
Is it getting enough light? I have one in my kitchen (long rectangular room), I thought with a window and patio doors it would be fine, but I don't think it's that light/bright.. I propagated a few leaves and put that pot by a window to help with new growth and that's actually done the same in a few months that the larger plant has done all year! Lots of new leaves.. Kinda thought its slow growth was normal until I saw all these on YT growing like mad. Try it somewhere brighter and see x
Nic pothos can survive just about anywhere but that doesn’t mean they will thrive. I have found that if I put my pothos outside (during the warm months) in bright indirect light it puts out loads of new growth. The pothos in this video was up on a high shelf probably 15 ft away from a west facing window. It definitely didn’t thrive there.
@@ShookHomemade yes mine definately wasn't thriving (Ive moved it now). Im glad I took the cuttings as it allowed me to see how much better they can do in a difference space.. however on closer inspection mine also has little black bugs on it too.. I noticed a spot on it months back, when I Googled it and thought it was signs of over watering.. stupidly I didn't look properly and more spots appeared, that and the lack of growth made me look at it properly today and there are little black bugs eating patches away, even my cuttings have suffered - the new leaves are chewed to bits/very spotty. Only 2 leaves didn't show damage out of the whole plant. I've moved my other pothos nearer a window. But my main concern is the bugs, they're on my cheeseplant, rubber plant, Jade and even a calathea.. 40 plants and most show signs of these bugs when you look close. Expensive/ hard way to learn.. so Im feeling rather stupid/down today tbh. Ty for your reply. Have a good weekend x
I have a golden pothos I’ve had for almost a year and it’s very very droopy and has little to no growth I don’t know if it’s bc of water or sunlight, I think I will try to repot it but idk what soil to use.
Any issue here with transplant shock? I re-potted a golden pothos and it is not doing well - wilting and leaves turning yellow and falling off gradually from bottom up. Fertilized it and trying to keep it fed without over-watering, but from what I've read its best to just leave it alone and let it settle. Its been 2.5 weeks since transplant and about 4 days since i "left it alone" and there's no significant sign of it bouncing back yet. In fact, it looks pretty pathetic and she used to be so luscious and beautiful! :(
Mine took a few weeks to really start taking root. It definitely wasn’t immediate! But when it started it bushed out fast. I had also changed locations so it would get tons of indirect light. I would be watchful that you don’t over water. Check the soil before watering 🙂
Yes it did. I don’t have the plant now because I had a big move and had to sell most of my plants. It exploded with new growth. In addition to what I did in the video I also put it outside in a north facing area. It was soooo happy. Lots of new variation, bigger leaves, fast growth.
So sorry! We’ve had some huge life changes. I can tell you that this pothos exploded with new growth and got huge and bushy. I’ll be posting a “where we are now” video soon.
I don’t think that was my main problem. My main problem is that I didn’t hardly ever water it. The soil was almost always bone dry 😭😭😭 with it being up on my shelf I would always forget to water it. And since pothos are so resilient it always looked “ok”. But it sure didn’t ever thrive. Once I reported (used the same pot) and was diligent on watering and feeding on a regular basis it exploded with growth.
