Repotting some plants that I've grown from seed that have been growing in the grow tent for the past 2 to 3 years. Stay tuned for a grow tent update video where I'll be unpotting even more plants, as they've all pretty much outgrown their trays/pots. Enjoy! :)

As always, thank you for sharing your beautiful cacti. I have a domino cactus that I love. It has grown twice the size in the past 2 yrs. It blooms several blooms in late summer/fall, and they smell so delightful. A soft fragrance, but they don't last long.

Nice plants and good job, where did you found these small pots in the beginning? I need lots of them in the next year for my seedlings 😅

Love your videos! It's fun and motivating to see your progress since these plants day to day can feel like they are in stasis haha. I wish I could easily find the nice asian style high quality pots like the ones in the video but I guess my plants still grow so it's not overly important. Good vibes to you!
@Cactimania
@Cactimania Год назад
Thank you so much 😊 You can find these types of pots fairly easily on places like Amazon and eBay. Ian’s Haworthia has the smaller tapered ones these plants were in at the start of the video. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌸🌼🌺🏜

Your repotting videos are amazing! I like those small black pots, where do you get yours from?
@Cactimania
@Cactimania Год назад
Thank you so much, Kevin 😊 The pots they were already in Edith got for me, I think they originally come from Thailand. Ian’s Haworthia sells very similar ones, and different sizes as well. The pots I potted them into are pots I saved from plants I bought from Cactus Land, but again you can get very similar ones online from Amazon and eBay. Thanks for watching and commenting. Nice work indeed 😎👍🏻 Im going to try this potting mix of yours, got some Lophs on a windowsill that are in need of a repot. The commercial mix they’re in holds quite a bit of moisture, so I water only once a month in growing season. How often do you water your plants in this mix? Are you in UK climate? Kind regards 🌵
@Cactimania

Do you ever add potting soil to the rock sand mix? Mine keeps draining out of the drain holes😂 also curious about root structure in just grit
@Cactimania
@Cactimania Год назад
I’m going away from soil based mixes now, finding too many pests and other contaminants in it. You can grow cacti in 100% grit or mineral mixes, but you’d probably need to water and feed them more often. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌼🏜

Nice video Daz. What's with the move away from JI2?
@Cactimania
@Cactimania Год назад
Thank you, Peter 😊 I was finding too many contaminants and pests in the JI unfortunately. The coco coir has been working out nicely though for other plants I already had growing in a mixture of it so hopefully these ones will do just as well. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌸🌺🌼🏜
@peterkeightley4256
@peterkeightley4256 Год назад
@Cactimania thanks, I know what you mean about the quality of the JI2. I've been using Coir for a while. Do you recommend the worm castings?
@Cactimania
@Cactimania Год назад
@@peterkeightley4256 yeah I use the worm castings along with the osmocote for coir mixes as coir is naturally sterile and contains no nutrients of its own. Even mixing in a bit of good quality compost without contaminants into the coir is good! 🌵☀️🌺🌸🌼🏜
@peterkeightley4256
@peterkeightley4256 Год назад
I'll have to give the worm castings a try. Always learn something new from your videos. Thanks Daz.
@Cactimania
@Cactimania Год назад
@@peterkeightley4256 yeah give them a go. The only thing is some brands can be a bit on the expensive side, especially now with the price of everything else going up! But a little goes a long way, you don’t need to add much of it to your mixes. The one I use is called Baltic Worm 🌵☀️🌺🌼🏜
