Representing yourself in court is popular but risky 

All the lawyers around the area where i live are in vacations and the only one available he is so slow and dumb I wouldn't trust him my family case ever. Sometimes we got no choice but to take the bull by its horns.

Why would these people involve someone else in their sacred sanctuary between a man and woman's marital affairs? Sounds to me the people have married the state, not each other as is done under the true eyes of the creator, so this married couple were never married in the true meaning of marriage which involves only two parties to the claim- (fictitious marriage) created by a 400 year old outcast one star chamber conveniently hidden under the false/fictitious name of the family court, re-introduced in 1975 to gain further control and loss of rights by the Australian government/law society, wholly matrimony is just that one man one woman no obligation other than towards themselves under the eyes of the creator God.

I believe both Parties should be given a lawyer. Its not fair that one has legal aid and the other is forced to self rep cos he makes too much!

When you represent yourself and stand before the judge, you should not allow him/her to intimidate/bully you! All court proceedings are audio recorded so a rude judge will be held accountable for any hanky panky.

I defended myself in circuit court on a misdemeanor charge and won easily. Just have to be aware of 2 things prosecutors like to get away with and that is foundation for asking a question and hearsay. Some prosecutor offices are crazy and try to prosecute every little thing. I my case even the cop didn't know anything about the case being prosecuted. I won the case with one question from the cop: Did you ever see me commit a crime? No, end of story.

Great video, thanks so much. The legal system should stand for justice and everyday citizens should be able to take matters to court when they have been wronged. I am involved in a legal matter related to affordable housing. My lawyer charges $300 per hour. The problem with that is that there is no reward for making good use of time. Why do a task in one hour if you can take three? It would be wonderful to see law offices specializing in self representation. Too many people have been wronged and have no recourse because they cannot afford a lawyer. The world is changing, the way the legal system operates needs to as well.

Ability to sue is a joy. Win or lose, you get to express your anger and frustration. Most recent case for me has preliminary costs of five thousand dollars and much more in future. Let me relieve stress and I can can cope with costs.

I feel so bad about Mr.Hopes that court basically killed his wife !!! That is so unfair because all they wanted to do was to live their lives on that lake and share it as a community as well and that's not happening now because Mrs Hopes devoted her time as a loving wife to their case ! What a shame !!!

You have the right to record your proceedings under the courts of justice act. I strongly recommend exercising that right especially in family law. I respect the national for at least touching on the issue.

People should be able to represent themselves without paying thousands or millions to some numbnuts and they should be able to ask a judge legal questions directly

It's a continuous affair. Enactment of Laws should be simple, clear and practicable. Justice Delayed is Justice Denied. But dispensation of Justice cannot be a hurried process, but it should be quick, fast and speedy.

change the school system to the European one and the one that most other countries are using. you should be able to go right into law school. now it takes to long to become a lawyer unnecessary.

In Quebec, you have to represent yourself.

In Ontario you have licensed paralegals. Why isn't the system using their skills?

In court they must mean civil court because the lawyers are too expensive. In criminal court however they all get public defenders which plead the case out as guilty regardless. And in civil court they are usually still tricked and forced to plead out without a lawyer soo yeah this video is misguiding a bit.

Fast forward to 2021. I am a SRL. The respondents, powerful government organizations, play with me cat & mouse on the processes and procedures. In court I asked the Justice for help on that, referring to the Statement on Principles on SRL & Accused Persons. He said, " I know about that. We are done here".

I am an educator by profission and I was charged with an intimidation offence actually by two state prosecutors. I did represent myself after I fired two to three attorneys and was persuaded to represent myself and indeed for first time the case was strucked off the roll and it was reinstated and it was strucked from the roll and it was reinstated again I continued to represent myself and the case was also strucked off the roll. I managed to influence three presiding offers of three different courts to struck the matter off the roll. Above all I am a born again Christian who depends on God the Father ,God the Son and God the Holy Spirit When I went to court i invited the heavenly team to be with me. At the end of the day I was able to emerge victorious in the name of Jesus. As of now I am also sueing the state for unlawful arrest and detention as well as malicious prosecutions. This is with true story because with God everything is possible. I encourage people to represent themselves because attorneys know how to bill without even winning cases. Some lawyers simply charge too much and basically use the fact that someone is in distress to their gain. The title of this video should be saying its not risky to represent yourself if you don't want to go backrupt or go crazy - the judge should make sure the case is justly decided and heard by drawing the LiP and allowing the case to be heard better.

I have a upcoming family trial the mother has a lawyer but doesn't work I work full time with overtime but can't afford a lawyer tell me how that's fair.

Is it Rep-resent or is it Re-present? What shall I re-present myself as? What character should I play? If it is Rep-resent, why would I resent myself?

That was agregious for a divorce to go on for 5+ years. It should be a year max. If the couple can't resolve it by then the court should.
