About an hour and a half into route this past Friday, 2808, my recycle truck, had a fire load, so it had to be dumped onto the street. On top of that, 2808 broke down not long after Manuel started collecting recycle again, so he fell super behind. Here's the first footage of 2808 after it suffered some fire damage collecting recycle in my neighborhood throughout the afternoon, way later than normal in both sections of my neighborhood where I filmed this video, including the last 3 clips filmed after 5 PM when Manuel was finishing up. Thank you to Manuel for always being friendly about my filming, staying out late to finish, and handling the fire situation professionally! I didn't actually see the fire occur, but I saw a huge plume of smoke around 8:30 AM and was concerned, so I got closer and saw 2808's body tipped back and the load in the street, with firefighters and police officers around the area. Thank you to them as well for their quick response! It could have been a lot worse, so I'm glad that Manuel was okay and that Republic Services didn't have to scrap another Heil Rapid Rail, as they already lost 3 to fires in the last year or so (2822, 2825, and 2845), and 2823 just had a fire load in Fullerton the previous day.
Oh, and the clip of 2408 in the beginning was just an extra clip I had of Jose doing an alley that a different driver missed earlier. I didn't have anywhere to put it, so I included it in here lol.
