Several important swing states, like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan, are anticipating hotly contested Senate races, with Senate control among the major stakes of the 2024 election, and yet the Republican Party has fielded candidates for these key races with surprisingly deficient local connections and insultingly flimsy fake biographies. Rachel Maddow reports.

No, ttcc, it is NOT up to women to "decide with our votes." It's up to EVERYONE who thinks that all citizens deserve equal right and equal protections under the law. Rights have gradually been granted to small groups of minorities (Black people, LGBTQ+ people) BECAUSE others who weren't of the same minority stood up for principle. I am sick unto death of the assumptions that (1) this is only a woman's issue -- it is not. Yes, it has far more of an impact on women, but any hetero man who wants to be a father or wants to avoid being a father has a huge stake in abortion rights; (2) women are supposed to fight their battle without support from men; and (3) women are some monolithic block who can be counted on to vote a particular way. They aren't! Sadly, lots of women are heavily invested in the patriarchy, so they vote against equal rights and equal protections for women. Anyone who values equal rights and equal protections under the law already knows how to vote in Nov 2024. What they might NOT know is that we all have to get involved to help turn out the vote. Call your local Dem chapter and ask how you can help. Contribute $ to Dems who are running tight races. Join Postcards to Voters, MoveOn, and Indivisible. ACT!

Mind sharing info on the adviser who assisted you? been saving for pension since age 18 - company scheme. along the way I hit higher tax, so I added to my company pension with a SIPP (tax benefits) I'm 46 now and would love to grow my finance more aggressively, there are a few cars I still wish to drive, a few mega holidays, etc.

Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. Republicans seem to think aas long as they take extreme right wing stance they can run anywhere for Senate in states where they do not live as long as they are rich enough to buy the election. Voters need to treat GOP candidates with the same contempt they obviously hold for us.
