Talk about one of the darkest and most intense pieces of music ever written. It feels as if all life is lost and that there is no hope. Like it will be the end of humanity and there is no escape.
This soundtrack was everywhere in the mid to late 2000s - Plane crash compilations, car accidents, natural disasters, horror stories, murder cases, end of the world videos, and everything else in between lol.
Every now and then I remember this song, and every time I do, I play it. And every time I play it, it gives me the same feelings I had when I first heard it. It is so immense and powerful. I cant even describe how it makes me feel other than that it is an emotional rollercoaster.
Interesting observation. I was actually introduced to this by my skating coach and via Escala. Fell in love with it and we’re putting a program together using it. I do like your description it gives me a direction to reach foe in my choreography.
After listening this soundtrack I watched the movie. And i can say that this is the best drama in history. In the end i cried like a baby. 10/10, best plot, best soundtrack, best script.
@@user-fp3kh6ib5k Most people see it on a screen, TV, pc monitor or mobile. Joke aside, amazon and Apple have it, and I think RU-vid also have it. For about 5 $.
this movie is the only one i can never complete, its too tragic & too dark to watch, far more than any horror movie for me, And it makes this music is haunted too
No mattter where you live and from which nationality you are, that's the music we all listened once in an apocalype video of earth being struck by a huge astroid and started seeing everywhere and avoided the moment we started hearing it. It is a nightmare fuel and still gives me chills after all the years that have passed.
Exactly, we all have this vision or thoughts when listening to this song years before, but now when i listen to this song it’s as if the last battle against Satan.
The film hit me in a way psychologically that no other film has since. I’ve fought in a war, climbed numerous mountains and seen the rougher side of life at times it this movie still gets me
I was fine the whole movie, even thrilled over how absolutely amazing it was bc I had high hopes for it and it Still managed to surpass them…. But that 4 way conclusion had my brain trying to devour itself purely to take its focus off the screen 😅
Sometimes in life, you must hurt in order to know, fall in order to grow, lose in order to gain, because lifes greatest lessons are learned through pain... as a recovering heroin addict this song really captures the hopelessness i felt homeless and aimless in downtown san diego walking the streets all night searching for something i would never find... so blessed to be out of that hell today...
Congrats! Proud. Me too. To those who are hopeless, hang on, please dont give up. I promise theres light at the end of the tunnel. I also was a heinous IV heroin junkie since my mid teens. Took me a Long time to figure it out. Today im sober. The unimaginable sorrow, shame, and incomprehensible demoralization no longer has a place in my life. If I can do it, you can do it.
A magnificent masterpiece.! This version with the fantastic choir increases the drama and gives you goosebumps! A wonderful composition! For me one of the best dramatic film scores of all time!!!
I remember they even used a part of this song for the trailer of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, when Gandalf enters from the east with the sun in his back , coming down from a mountain followed by thousands of soldiers on horses. Epic to the max.
This song is perfect for writing epic moments, perfect for encapsulating a battle scene, there are few pieces of truly epic music, this masterpiece is definitely a must-music for any battle scene writer.
This song can make anything feel apocalyptically epic… imagine someone with bad diarrhea clutching their stomach and battling demons while this song pounds in the background… now imagine an asteroid hurling towards earth and slowly burning as it approaches the ground… its the universal song of Epicness
...I'm sorry....but..... . Anakin skywalker would have killed the emperor and killed you if you did not chop his legs and arms off so. Also The heks is teh droids??? Oh guess what too Anakin skywalker is my fav ehem "jedi" And why the freaking freak did u lie to Luke???? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 HhhhhMmmmMM But uhm tbh u are a really good jedi I love dat "hello there" perfect lol uhhh over all I'm sticking with the dark side
It’s such an Astonishing, Powerful, Emotional, Heartbreaking feeling when a movie like ‘Requiem For A Dream’ (2000) can make you bawl your eyes out, and make you think this deep. From the editing, sound effects, acting & special effects...this film brings the effects and aftermath of drug abuse and addiction right into our eyes, since we can’t truly understand how terrible it is unless we are shown in a way like this. It’s a mistake most of us keep making since once we do it once we can’t stop. Nuff Said.
Agree whole heatedly ....been drinking since 17, when my 1st boyfriend who was 25 got me trashed. I'm native so instantly got addicted.... trying to do better...
wow, i saw this movie, i had goose bumbs, when i hear the sound, i have it aswell, and then i read this, ... EXACTLY, i had a goose bump, cause u nailed it, ty
Se puede hacer un cambio. Un nuevo ser desde las cenizas. Esta melodía lo propone. Avanzar a través del fuego 🔥 el agua 💧 los vientos y salir Libre ileso para una vida feliz
This movie is genius. It casts the personal and domestic tragedy of addiction and all the nightmarish despair that follow it, and puts it to the track of an epic shakesperean tragedy
@@user-ht7db4io8yIt's name is the name of the song - Requiem for a dream. Be weary though. When I watched it for the first time, I thought I'd never know happiness again.
@@1greenMitsi overrated ?! Did you ever have contact with people who lost theirselfs to this degree? Whatch them ruining their life? Their struggle ? This movie is the most realistic movie about substane abuse ever made. You should thank god if you have never experienced someting like this.
I just remember this song being used in every early 2000s "tragedy" "apocalypse" type video. It feels weird listening to it in 2022. Edit: Hope you all have a wonderful 2023. Edit2: Hope you all have a wonderful 2024.
This music is the ending of a nervous breakdown, when you reach your limits and can't contain your sorrow, rage and dispair anymore. You're finally free of all torment, no fear, no hate just peace within. You no longer care what happens to you you're just happy it's finally over.
I can just imagine this song playing in the background in a film where 2 giant armies charge at eachother across a vast open space in slow motion before they start butchering eachother. Epic
It remind me of the early 2010s when the end of the world was coming every 2 weeks and they'd use this sound in the background with pixely clips from movies to show what it'd look like
RU-vid used to be riddled with apocalypse videos and 9/11 videos with this song in the background. They are all gone now. Only a handful of the apocalypse videos are still around now.
there's just something so raw and powerful about this song that no other has been able to capture imo. its so beautiful, yet horribly sad and suspenseful. I can see it being used in cases where the protagonist is trying to fight something they soon realize they can't overcome. there is an odd sense of despair.
Its powerful to me, the intensity cordanation and raw energy just all comes together in my mind as just power. It makes me feel focused just like the whole group had to be to deliver this masterpiece. But thats just my thoughts on it. I also get what you mean about the moment of despair when you realize in that moment you dont have the ability to win.
Yeah that's what the movie is about actually. A fight for belonging that sends them further into addictions and vices, and eventually making them cower in the hopelessness of it all.
In the movie from where this originated it is like that. Every main charackter has an addiction and come deeper and deeper into a downward spiral which they cant escape in the end. I know you probably meant this statement more in like a fantasy setting with a huge enemy in front of them but in the same way your comment resembles the real movie quite well.
@@bread1486 Masks. This whole pandemic has had too much 'Peter and the wolf' with pictures of dead people in the streets claimed to be covid victims while the pictures were ten years old... We have been exposed to danger and death for more then 19 months and should the virus mutate yet again and be capable of killing 50% of the population, an alarm will not reach general consciousness in time anymore. We have had too much Doom and Gloom during the stage when it was a killer to individuals, but not to society as a whole. Our senses got numbed while they never were sharp to start with...
Perfect song to work out to, especially cardio. I used to hit the heavy bag to this song while keeping pace with it. Very challenging when you really have to pick up the pace towards the end.
I'll be pedantic... It's more like 5 or 6 tracks from the ost gelled together. For instance, the chorus is Marion Barfs. The lead ups are the Overture themes. Lux Aeterna is just a part of it.
@@abbajones2332 well i highly recommend it, i don't want to spoil you anything so i will only say, it's a heavy movie to watch but it's interesting and it's one hell of an expirience
Ever since I first listened to this piece of art, I keep telling everyone I know "If you really want to deeply understand what kind of person I am, listen to this one". This song just represents me throughoutly
In one of the suburbs of New York in the year 2020, during the Corona pandemic, where all the streets were empty, when you heard this music, you felt goosebumps and despair. Likewise, the empty streets and all the sorrows in the past fall on you like rain. Here I am sharing this comment today on 2/2/2024 ❤ From Iraq
I remember hearing this in a lot of videos during the old days of RU-vid back in 2008-2012 whether it was largest crocodiles in the world, megalodon, giant snakes eating people, cryptids or even dinosaurs ( where i often hear it a lot ) i could always here it i miss those days ironically i didn't know song was from the most depressing movie ever made
Imagine I had the same experience with you, and now the same nostalgic feelings...we're far away from each other and never met or will meet but value the same memories
Li inúmeros comentários e achei todos muito bons; gostaria de conseguir como a maioria expressar um sentimento ou entendimento da música (comecei a assisti o filme mas não terminei), simplesmente gosto de ouvir essa música; está na minha lista de favoritas.
It may be really cliché, and it may be overused, but it is the single most epic song I have ever heard... Can't help but to imagine a bad ass warrior going to fight the main villain for the last time in a setting of utter chaos and destruction as the city/ship they're in comes crashing down around them in the middle of a huge battle. The hero gets knocked down, beaten like no one's ever been beaten before, brutally smacked the fuck up until the villain thinks he's dead and walks away; but then he gets back up and KICKS! MAJOR! AAAAAASSSSSSSS!!!!!! But then he has to sacrifice himself to kill the villain and dies anyway boohoo it's a tragic ending everybody cries cause they loved him so much
Yes, he sacrifices himself but instead of death he saves the world be becoming the villains f**k toy in his sex dungeon. Daily dragon rides to save mankind
Despite having seen the movie and the final scene leaving me a scar in the size of Mexico in my heart, this song always gives me the message of "The world is horrible and the the people even more. But that's not a reason nor an excuse for giving up. You should always give even a little bit more than you got, in order to succeed." To be honest, I'm not really sure, but I'm too scared to think any other meaning. I better not dig it up, so I'll stay with this positive feeling anytime I listen to this song. Never give up people. Never stop believing in yourselves. Sometimes it's this everyday "I matter" you tell to yourself that might actually save your soul from annihilation.
