0:03 childhood memory for me as i saw the 1st opening at my grandma's house in Rochester Hills Mi, and these openings bring me back to a time before my grandma passed away in 2012 at age 85 when i would watch the syndicated Family Channel episodes in 1993 and so on.
The Family Channel is where I watched Rescue 911 repeats when I was a kid growing up, while at the same time, new episodes were being aired on CBS, and the reformatted version of the show was airing on local syndicated affiliates.
What was the episode segments on the mountain bike episode? I didn't reolise that episode made it in to cindication. If anybody has the cindicated version of that episode from the family channel, could you please upload this entire episode? Thank you very much as this episode never aired in cindication on Hallmark, Discovery Health, The Justice Network, True Crime Network, or currently on Pluto TV's Rescue 911 live channel, or is listed on the on demand episodes.
These were re-runs of the 60-minute episodes that aired on CBS, although they were heavily cut for running time when FAM showed them. The mountain bike story didn't make it into the 30-minute syndicated episodes. Actually, none of the stories from that episode did. Here's the CBS version of the bike segment: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a42C5gReU8s.html
Would’ve been great if the family channel didn’t have to butcher episodes and segments within them so severely after 1995, or whenever they started condensing them down into a shorter timeslot. Hell, it would be nice if today’s hour long time slot was longer but sadly, that’s something I don’t think we’ll ever get back; not on broadcast TV and cable, anyway. That’s a big reason why so many have gravitated towards streaming over about the last decade or so; more show time, fewer commercials.
Yeah, whenever I see a full Rescue 911 episode from the 90's with the commercials left in, I'm always like, "Damn, that was a really short commercial break!"
cool video talking about rescue 911's promos from the family channel, and how many promos do you have that have the following designs "Flying cherry-red telephone" (1989-1990 season) , the fed-ex style rescue truck (6th season promos)?
I don't think I have any season 1 promos with the red phone. I'm not sure what you're talking about with the fed-ex style truck, but the only season 6 promo I have is for episodes 624 and 958H.
@@allgood2000 the season six promo with a van-like truck coming towards us with the rescue 911 title and mostly seen in the 6th season and the preview for "Aussie Santa Save" has this also.
There was a period when Fam alternated between showing the chopped up versions, and then going back to the original format. When it was back in the original format, the promos were shown. When it was chopped up, only seasons 5 and 6 with select episodes from previous seasons showed the promos. The last time I remember them showing the original format was in the early winter/spring of 1997, then it stayed chopped up going forward
@@allgood2000 ah so this was long before i discovered family channel i discovered that channel in 1995 when did the family channel start shortening the episodes to make room for commercial because when they did that the next clips when they went to commercial break were cut too like when they said next or when we continue
@@TTBurgerThePlayStationGamer The time slot for how long an hour TV show could be without commercials got shortened, so they had to edit the episodes to make them fit. On CBS they ran 46-48 minutes without commercials. On FAM the time slot was about 46 minutes at first but then it changed to about 44 minutes.
