Growing up, every Tuesday was Rescue 911 night, until 1995 or so when in aired on Thursdays. The fire engine seen in the intro at 1:04 and in the commercial bumper at 10:00 is DCFD Engine 3. The Capitol can be seen in the background of the bumper. Little did I know as a child watching Rescue 911 that I would one day be assigned as a firefighter to that same DCFD Engine 3.
OMG FANTASTIC VID! I SAW THIS WHEN I WAS A TODDLER AND THE INTRO SCARED THE FKN FK OUTTA ME LOL LIKE I'M NOT KIDDING I REMEMBER HIDING BEHIND THE COUCH WHEN IT WAS ON AND SAME WITH THE ENDING BC OF THE RAPID BASS HITS AFTER SHATNER'S END MONOLOGUE AND IT TURNED INTO THE OUTRO... OMG LEGENDARY SHOW AND STILL GIVES ME CHILLS AND GOOSEBUMPS
The police car from Baltimore Cops was used for the end credits, that's what everyone remember, but I also remember the fire truck and ambulance being used.
I remember when I was 14 and found out Rescue 911 reruns were airing on Discovery Health, and later the Reality TV Channel, I got so excited when I saw an episode with clips from the intro. Baltimore Cops and Baby Fire Rescue were gold mines for me when I first saw them. Also, literally up until I saw this video, I thought the audio clip of "Put the gun down!" was someone saying "What be going on?" so thank you for correcting that for me.
Yeah, I didn't realize the intro clips were from actual episodes when I started watching the show. I guess I thought they were custom-made specifically for the introduction, so I was all like "WHAAA?!" the first time I saw a segment that was featured in the intro 🤣
I haven't seen the intro from Episode 604 since I was a child, back when it was a new episode. One thing I could have swore I saw back then was that 911 Trunk Lock was the second of the 3 previews of the segments in that intro, but I guess this video disproves that.
Growing up I found out Rescue 911 was airing on CBS in its intial airing. During its span of all of the 7 seasons (1989-1996), I was stoked when I saw an episode with clips from the intro. "Church Bus", "Houston Trama Docu", "Arlington", "Baby Fire Rescue", "Icy River", "911 Arsonist", "Highway Hero", "Sudden" Death", "Dog Rescue", "Flooded Cave", "SF Neonatal Docu", "Residential Robbery", "San Francisco Firefighters", "Bowling Alley Kidnap", "Baltimore Cops", "Miami Cops", "Bootless Hero", "Fallen Firefighter", "Fireman Down" and "Oklahoma Cops Documentary".
8:30 this one is my personal favorite because shatner describes the episode and segments in a dramatic way saying "Tonight on "Rescue 911" "These True Stories Of Danger And Triumph" #629 and the stories are described in dramatic terms like "Danger and triumph".
3:31 nice you pointed that out that that's the same guy that's seen climbing in the cave, and instead they just have him and other rescue workers digging through an old cave shaft as time ran out.
12:20 love how they insert the rescue911 title in the #baltimorecopssegment and use the San Francisco street which was used for the season 1-5 openings for #rescue911.
I say the Blue Jeans scene is a deleted scene from rescue 911 - kidnapped kids, as the suspect wore jeans and the dispatcher read out blue jeans but we never see a dispatchers screen.
can you do a video on the Oxnard 9-1-1- communications center as used in maybe the 1st "PILOT" "2nd Pilot", and 107 that also uses these locations and mention the strange signs like the Computer, Wanted, SHO-DI sign that go with the video?
Baby Rescue is from an apartment in Washington, DC and Arlington is in Arlington, TX. It should be noted that is Texas because their is an Arlington, Virginia
7:32 i believe it's definitely from the San francisco Neo-natal docu, because if you look carefully the patches are the same and if you look carefully at the driver, he has the same patch also, and the house outside the driver's window he's at has that typical San Francisco design.
5:44 who could we ask where that call came from/originated from the Police Dept itself or the person that was responsible for creating the opening for the season 1-5 episodes of rescue 911.
Nice! I believe there are a couple other soundbites from “Baby Fire Rescue“ used in the intro; the long, drawn out beep shortly after we hear “this is 911, do you have an emergency?“ when the beat to the theme kicks in, and one of the first babies screaming after she’s dropped out of the window. Also, I think those three shorter beeps between “Does he got a blood pressure? I don’t know bout that,“ and “is he breathing?“ are also from “Houston Trauma Docu“. Also, “but they’re in good hands here“ is from “San Francisco Neonatal Docu,“ as is something said by another woman that I can’t make out right before we hear “you guys can do it now“; I’m not sure if that last one is from any segment on the show, though. Oh, and isn’t “Chesterfield emergency service“ from “Dog Rescue“?
I only pointed out the soundbites for instances where the video clip being played comes from a different segment than the audio (for example, the "Stay on the line" soundbite from the Residential Robbery call is played over a video clip from "Church Bus"). The baby crying from "Baby Fire Rescue", "they're in good hands here" from SF Neonatal, and "Chesterfield emergency service" from Dog Rescue match the video clips, so I didn't make special mention of those. "Is he breathing?" is from the "Sudden Death" outtake I mentioned at 2:42 (it matches up with the video). I think you're right about the "Baby Fire Rescue" crying sound right after "this is 911, do you have an emergency?", and the three beeps being from Houston Trauma Docu. Not sure where "you guys can do it" is from.
@@allgood2000 this might make sense "Flooded Cave" is where the "you guys can do it" might be from just a guess, since it was a hard and somewhat difficult rescue inside the cave.
5:12 it should've been noted that rescue 911 has two stories that happened in 1982, and were made as segments #rescue911americanriver and #rescue911tradingplaces.
It seems like they mostly filmed in Texas, California, and the Maryland/Virginia area for the three pilots. The only exceptions were Icy River, Flooded Cave, and Miami Cops.
Someone posted a video about the 1987 Guadalupe River flood that included that shot of the Army UH-1 Air Ambulance years ago, and Gregor Krause commented on it that shot. Unfortunately, that video is not RU-vid anymore.
I remember that. I tried to find it so I could use the clip in this video, but yeah, it was removed. I think it may have been from an Australian show, but it has been a while since I saw it.
@@allgood2000 My guess is that shot of the helicopter was shown in the first pilot special, but was later removed when the show became an official series. I would be interesting to do a video and compare the segments from the specials, the original CBS broadcast, and the syndicated versions and see what scenes were missing. It will be difficult to find the original CBS version of the segments
@@aaronpossemato3745 I'm actually working on a video right now showing examples of things that were cut from syndicated episodes. Unfortunately I don't have the original pilot to compare the runtimes for the pilot versions vs the season 1 CBS repeats. I did compare the 2nd pilot version of "Sudden Death" with the syndicated version, and they have the exact same runtime (not counting Shatner's intro and the "next" preview), so the original version of that one appears to have remained intact in all repeats (since the syndicated version is from the Episode 109 version and not the 2nd pilot version). I have the CBS season 1 versions of "911 Arsonist", "Highway Hero", and "Dog Rescue" and I didn't notice any footage cut from those. They did re-record Shatner's intros and change the music somewhat in the latter two, though.
do you collect quarters especially #americathebeautifulquarterset?, well there are a couple of rescue 911 locations on some of them, and the first one is the #evergladesquarter #hotspringsarkansasquarter and #thegreatsmokymountainsquarter.
Sadly the paramedic shown in that clip from the news coverage of the rescue of baby jessica couldn't handle the aftermath of that event, the pressure from all attention he got from the media caused him to have a nervous breakdown that completely destroyed his life.
9:37 can you please do another video detailing the rare looped track bumpers, and the "pool shock" segment's opening that had the firetruck #3 siren sounding in the animated bumper?
9:41 also forgot to mention the animation that was used for these animated bumpers which i believe is #solarizedanimation or just plain #solarization #sabbatiereffect
3:00 would you have the December 5th 1989 episode of #107 which aired in-full after the episode was cut-off,not showing all the segments or pre-empted on October 17th, 1989?
5:36 must've been from a season 3 episode (313) which is a documentary segment about San Francisco paramedics. It takes place on New Years, but no year has been given. Wikipedia claimed it took place Jan. 1, 1989. It may have been the first documentary segment they filmed and was going to be used for the specials.
I have a side-by-side comparison of those two clips at 6:05. They're very similar, but the cars parked on the side of the road don't match up, and the S3E13 clip has white lines splitting around both sides of the speed limit sign, but in the intro clip the white line only goes along the left side of the sign. People like to make up dates and locations on the Wikipedia page for segments where they weren't mentioned. I went through there recently and tried to clean up the made-up info. The S3E13 segment was probably New Years Eve 1990, as they mention in the segment that there was a blue moon that night, and a quick Google search indicates that 1990 (or debatably 2009) was the last time there was a blue moon on New Years Eve.
@@allgood2000 Like you said in the video, it was probably from 107 SF Neo-natal. I liked to know what the two specials looked like. I know that someone posted Icy River from the special.
@@aaronpossemato3745 I've never seen the first pilot as it originally aired, but this is the full second pilot: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pUVum6Q_mcA.html
What's the episode from the beginning with the body lying on the floor? I know I've seen the episode at some point. I remember somebody who knew the victim went in there with the police and was yelling for him to wake up.
are you thinking of doing a video on what the 2nd pilot looks like, from the opening intro, and closing with extra sound effects from #babyfirerescue, and the (looped) animated versions of the ambulance, firetruck, police car, helicopter, and the early dispatch centers/garages used for the 2 "pilots" also with the #1985acbsspecialpresentationlogo for the 2 pilots?
Some of the segments were filmed less than a month before the first special aired. My guess is that they hadn't finished editing all of them by then, so they used raw footage from the filming sessions to make the intro rather than the final cuts of the segments.
3:49 here's an ideal title for that segment "Mickey Mouse Phone Save" since she has a mickey mouse telephone and uses it to save her family from the 3 intruders.
Do you know if the "Rescue 9-1-01" theme music is available without audio clips, but just the synth music alone, like what was used in the sponsor theme, where the guy said, "Rescue 9-1-1 is sponsored by..." If you can find just the theme music alone, please drop me a line.
Not that I know of. Sometimes the intros to the international versions have some of the audio clips stripped out, but not completely. This one is pretty close: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I0Zna8Abrso.html
here's another video idea if you're willing to do another one is Rescue 911 segment locations featured on quarters/coins like the #hotspringsarkansasquarter along with the segment #hoteltoddlerplunge and #greatsmokymountainsquarter with the segment #hornetattacksave and the #50statequarters with #rescue911segments related to each one.
2:59 my favorite episode.and also you forgot to mention why you say it's the 3rd special and the reasons are shatner with no-tie and the animated looped intro and the dispatch centers used for the 1st two pilots and the Computer,Wanted and Sho-Di sign.
I didn't want to get too off-topic since the video was already kind of long, but here are the reasons I think it was going to be the third pilot: 1. Rescue 911 wasn't picked up as a series until after the second pilot aired, but the first four segments of 107 are seen/heard in the intro to the second pilot, so they must have been filmed for the third special. 2. Nancy Platt Jacoby directed Episode 107, and she also directed the two pilots. Most of the regular season 1 episodes were directed by Mary Hardwick. 3. The format and music style of 107 were more consistent with the second pilot than the regular season 1 episodes, plus the other things you mentioned about Shatner's wardrobe and dispatch center.
5:50 i'd say #houstontraumadocu, because #suddendeath dealt mostly with heart problems and the motorvehicle accident situation fits more for a trauma docu .
They may have chosen cardiac arrests as the theme afterwards because that's what they ended up getting the most footage of. They probably had no idea what kind of cases they were going to get when they started.
Do you have the CBS version? I have the Family Channel version and the syndicated version, and neither has the exact clip of the police boat used for the bumper.
@@gregorkrause I have the Odyssey version. I haven't watched it in a while, but I'm pretty sure my copy only shows the part with the boat facing to the left. The commercial bumper shows it facing to the right.
So these three "pilot specials", just like the Simpsons shorts from the Tracy Ultman Show and the Jesus vs Frosty and Jesus vs Santa South Park short films are what I'd call Season 0.
I don't like the "Arlington" one, because they all but arrested the big brother of the girl, the caller, who was practicing his 2nd amendment rights. The girl didn't clarify the circumstances, the cops made it harder for them to know it was them by going into "blackout" made, claiming it was for their own protection.
That's actually one of my favorite segments. The reason they cuffed the brother was that they had to verify he wasn't one of the robbers. I believe that's a standard police procedure, as that happened in quite a few Rescue 911 segments (including the Residential Robbery one).
9:24 fun fact #revelljrkitfiretruck resembles the New Zealand firetruck same style/design ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zRxChfUN3-c.html
