I love that this was spoken about. They both are right. You have a right to question w.e, but it should be contained; there's a place for everything. Garrity is spot on
@@B17tailgunner Terrorist attacks can be domestic or international. I don’t believe September 11th was an inside job (couldn’t prove it anyways), but whether it was or wasn’t doesn’t change the fact that thousands of innocents were killed.
(care, possible spoilers) Garrity only lost it because he found out he had cancer and couldnt tell them and was pissed about that. and they were talking about stuff that happened ~10 years ago...
I’m not a fireman but for them, 10 years ago isn’t shit compared to the nightmares and feelings about 9/11. Imagine surviving that shit and looking over to see your own brothers being pulled from the rubble, not so fortunate to survive. Talking about stuff like this might be one thing to someone but to others, a bitch slap to those who died.
Cancer is a bitch. Took one of my friends, almost another one, took my grandma, took my dad.. This scene with Garrity hit really hard. And he was right, gotta move on, no matter what. Shit happened, don't dwell on it for too long.
@@Tipi83, cancer took one of my uncles and he battled for 10 years. I had an abscess on my back and leg. They were both in different time periods. Both were malignant & treated a long time ago. I feel Garrity’s pain.
This scene alone is what made this show great. There’s none of this “lets use our words” bullshit that’s in so many shows today. It’s guys acting how guys actually act at work
Fuckin, amazing show. One of the only series I purchased in its entirety on DVD. It's sad, that a show like this wouldn't make it in today's climate. Ironically, it's actually the most needed, bc it displays the realism (aside from some exaggerated shit) of how it really is when you get a group of guys who work in this field, together.
@@philmcbride6572 why, because CNN & Fox News told you it wasn’t true? Are people still that easily mislead? Here’s some advice, use that super computer that you have in your hand (smart phone) and do your own research and reach your own conclusion!! That or you can continue to parrot the mainstream narrative that has been widely disproven, if you’re bold enough to open your eyes to it.
@@hellbabyy You should probably look up the definition of "inside job" Its one thing to maybe think that the US had prior knowledge of an attack, or even benefitted from the aftermath of 9/11 But inside job? Get out of looney tune land.
Can you post the scene where Tommy screams at Franco and the guys about Jerry's suicide? Someone said Jerry was a coward for doing it and Tommy loses his god damn mind. I don't recall where it was it might be the only scene that was more powerful than this one.
That'd be Franco again who said Jerry was a coward. Don't know if that scene is on RU-vid. I always think about this amazing show on this most solemn day. :(
Go! garrity! Go! lol lmao that's the kind of tightness he needed to get off lol but he does make that point! I admire him on that plus walk out 😂he should be lieutenant for E-99/L-62 on rescue me but hey didnt happen.
why, because CNN & Fox News told you he was a “conspiracy theorist? You know that’s a government word meant to slander people right? Are people still that easily mislead? Here’s some advice, use that super computer that you have in your hand (smart phone) and do your own research and reach your own conclusion
I followed him on Instagram a few years and was really pushing the conspiracy out there. Then one day he just disappeared on Instagram and has never been back since…
Depends..a lot of old school departments like FDNY, Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco don't really have a non smoking policy because it's still a very blue collar job..a lot of other departments like in California for instance have tough non smoking policies due to the cardiovascular problems and cancer problems that are caused by it. It basically comes down to how "rough" or "old school" a department is. If you live in a middle upper class neighborhood chances are your Fire department won't be as rough necked and old school as a Fire Department in the Bronx or Downton Detroit. Make sense?
Most departments you can't, idk about the FDNY but on most if not all volunteer departments in New York you can't, but I've seen Some at my firehouse smoke those electronic ones indoors which is allowed
Wade Wilson it's the reason the show started to represent the lives of fireman and what they are living with after the day that the world lost the most fire man in history in 1 day
just because money was made doesn't always mean it was done at the expense of a demographic... secondly, have you ever heard anyone complain about how this show misrepresents firefighters in any way? didn't think so
His cousin Jerry Lucey died in 1991 with five other firefighters in a warehouse blaze in Worcester, Massachusetts. Leary responded by creating the Leary Firefighters Foundation. *1999 yea lol google cant always be right, thankfully we have access to a plethora of intelligent knowledge seekers to find the truth thank you*
Late as hell but Franco was cool at the start of the show but imo he started to become an unlikable asshole in the last 3 seasons. Kinda bothered me too how they never really addressed it either. At least black Shawn kicked his ass lmao.
@@sayhello2heaven_ I was definitely happy when Black Shawn beat him senseless. He definitely had it coming. I personally wish it happened sooner and that he got his ass kicked by more than just Black Shawn, but it was still satisfying.
