Watch her make her first friend! Lee told us how this puppy mill mama became a happy puppy herself in just one week ❤️ Now she's part of the family! Watch more from @theasherhouse_ ❤️
We had a neighbor that was running a puppy mill in their home for several years. They had to cease and desist because of our city's ordinance concerning animals. Thank you for rescuing Lucy from a horrible life.
If the homeowner doesn't comply with the city code after being instructed to desist, they can be fined several thousand dollars a day. The puppies will be seized and then fostered out.
the way the other dogs go up and sniff her all slowly.. gently and with their heads down, not to threaten or scare her. happy to welcome her. i’m glad she’s part of a wonderful pack, and got to find a wonderful human being for her
I had a dog from breeders, we found her at the pound because the state took the dogs away. The very first week, she was terrified. She did not want to get out of the cage, or get in the truck. For the first few years every time she got into the truck she was scared we were going to leave her and you should have seen her face every time she saw the Petco sign. When my little brothers were born, she was protective, always let them sleep on her, and would give them kisses whenever they cried. When they got older, she would let them drive toy cars on her back and her tail would be wagging. I will never forget taking her on her very last hike on Hurricane Mountain in the Adirondacks and all the fun she had splashing around in the streams, walking around the top, and getting carried down because she was too tired to walk. (She was a German Shepherd Lab mix, a big dog) She changed my life for the better and on the two year anniversary when we got her after her death, we found a nursing cat and her kitten under our house, and now we take care of them and the cat's favorite resting space is right in front of my dogs gravestone.
Over four years ago, we took in an abandoned puppy mill dog. She had so many issues including needing a $1600 surgery for inflamed uterus. She took months to warm up to being loved and taken care of. She became the best, spoiled, sassy but sweetest girl ever. Sadly she passed peacefully in her sleep about 3 months ago. We never knew how old she was for sure. She was an amazing addition to my family. I loved her more than I"ve ever loved any other dog. This story of Lucy made me tear up and miss my Gabbie so much. Much respect to you for helping Lucy!
@@okidokidraws Yes, even one person can do great harm. I bought my girl from a house way out in the wilds of PA. The poor mom was laying dejected and listless on a dirty towel. She was the dirtiest, most matted dog I've ever seen and in someone's private home!!!!!! I somewhat chastised the owner that mama girl needed a nice warm bath to make her feel better after birthing. And THAT was the required weeks after birth one could take a weaned puppy. So, it was doubly bad she'd not been tended to weeks after delivery. The people were low class, uncaring people fr their stupid response & empty brained convo. My conclusion was they had a male and a female dog breeding litter after litter w/o care to the mother. sad
Oh shut up, you cry and shed tears only for the way it’s portrayed it’s called manipulation, watch another sad dog video but cut off the audio and you will see the difference. You weak women aught to be ashamed. Don’t be led by your emotions.
Oh man. Started to tear up a bit when I saw how all the other dogs treated her. They could sense her stress and fear and were all so gentle in making her feel safe and comfortable. Sometimes I think dogs are too good and pure for us, but then I see an owner like this who treats and raises their dogs with that same love, compassion, and gentleness, and I realize what a perfect match we can be together.
I adopted a puppy mill mom 15 yrs ago. The entire mill, mom's and puppies were all taken thankfully. She was a miniature poodle who weighed 13 lbs and had missing and very thin fur, I'm assuming from malnutrition. When my spouse first saw her he was worried she wouldn't make it she looked so bad. She went on to gain 10lbs and her hair grew back whiter and shiny! I quickly became her person and our bond grew extremely strong, I called her my shadow because she followed me everywhere and would lay in my lap for hours while I petted her. She was the absolute most sweet, pure hearted and loving dog. I could tell her past neglect was healed both mentally and physically. She passed away last May 5 at home at the age of 17yrs. I miss her terrible every minute of every day.
@@tuttyfat aww Im so sorry for your loss! but Im happy you gave her a life she deserved with happiness and love! Im grateful for people like u and your husband who help these poor animals. I have 3 dogs from shelters but nothing like what your dog went through. Poor baby. But again I'm happy to hear she had lots of love for the remainder of her life after you saved her! You should feel good about that because a lot of people would not have taken a chance on her. 💗
I had a puppy mill doggie, she was chunky because she was never able to work off any baby weight since she was constantly having puppies. We had her for 2-3 years before she passed away of old age. She had a good rest of her life after we adopted her. ☺️
How many animals are out there been missed treated by “humans” because they think are “better” and having the “ownership” over other creatures. We have the responsibility to care for them and this planet. But the opposite has been understood. Thank got for people who has consciousness and do what it feels right in their hearts. Those are really the people who are connected to what Love is.
I hate people who abuse animals. This girl deserves the best life and she is really opening up in her new home. Thank you for everything you do for Lucy and all the other angels lucky enough to find you ❤
@@broglee9110 There are a large amount of people living on this planet who have the convoluted train of thought leading to the belief that you can't be against animal abuse if you eat meat or animal products.
I despise people who lack empathy and love for animals. They are innocent yet abused by evil people. Thank you for taking the time to love her. My first dog was a breeder and it took time to build love and trust.

How could anyone do that to a golden retriever?! They are the absolute best! I’ve been blessed to know and love two in my life and they have made it better ❤️
Lucy is one of my favourites of Lee's rescues. Her eyes show you her sweet soul underneath all the pain. Now she smiles all the time. Bless you dear Lucy 💖🙏
Thanks for this. I never knew his name, but have watched many of his videos. He is the sweetest man. So loving & kind. We need more people like him. ❤🙂👍
This sort of thing always brings a tear to my eye. Just hearing the word puppy mill really upsets me. I thank God that Lee rescued this beautiful golden retriever. Lee Asher is the greatest and kindest human being, and I thank God for him. He is very special.
Thank you for loving her. My neighbors had 3 dogs they milled for “pure” breed payment (business). The cries from mama dogs every single time the puppies were taken….the memory still makes me tear up. Painful. 💔😭
How are you sure they were milled? They could’ve been a backyard breeder but still taken good care of the pups and beautiful momma dogs. Just curious as puppy milling is usually an inhumane amount of dogs all at once with little to no proper care for any of them
@@cringesh1t427 well clearly they were not taking good care if they were intentionally impregnating an animal and then taking away its babies forcibly for a profit. If the mother dog was repeatedly crying for her babies, they were being forcibly taken away from her. It doesn't matter if the dogs were physically well taken care of. That is by definition an inhumane thing to do. Babies aren't meant to be a source of profit.
@@cringesh1t427 Exactly, a puppy mill is very different form a responsible breeder. Mama dogs are very protective and take care of their puppies until a point when they will bite them to make them stop nursing, and kind of push them away to do their own thing. They won't just "mother" them forever.
@emiliewhite4825 That he is!! He is a GODSEND to these furry friends of ours!! Thank You for sharing this heartfelt reply with me!! Really Appreciate This!!
She's perfect is probably why she was in a puppy mill. Never get a puppy without seeing both parents. Or better adopt. Glad she has a better future now.
We had a 7 year old doggo like this. Small breed. But we were not able to raise hands without her just, peeing under herself because of what she has heen thoguht. Hamster cage, most likely more abuse and mill. Took a year of good care to even hear her bark. It was a very very rough one almost as if she didnt ever do it. After around 2 she was super happy and confident. It was an awesome transformation to witness. Recently she passed away at age of 14. She was the sweetest.
We got a puppy mill beagle. The vet said they could tell she had multiple litters. She was about 5 years old when she wandered in our yard. That was 6 years ago. She's a spoiled beagle now!
I was thinking that too. That because she was perfect was why they took her for granted. Let's be glad that she is safe now. I hope she has the best life from this onwards. Poor baby girl. ❤
Thank you Lee for saving this beautiful Lucy! My heart goes out to you and all these dog's you rescue. I thank God for you too. You, sir, are my hero.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@AngelaSmeltzer-Cochrane I didn't know it either. On one hand, he is doing remarkable rescue work. That said, wouldn't the dogs be better off being rehomed, when possible, so they can have one on one love and attention? No diss on him at all. But one man can't possibly give full attention to over 200 dogs (going off Google numbers). But either way, what a wonderful thing he is doing!!
We don't deserve dogs 🐾🐾💕🐕 but so glad we can have them in our lives ❤ Asher House is amazing with what they do for animals ♡ best wishes on your new life Lucy
That’s exactly what I was thinking in this video. Thank God this man has opened his home to these dogs. They all showed their love and soon she felt something she may never had felt…Joy & comfort!!!
Plz seriously consider donating to this wonderful rescue center. They do much needed life-saving work but need each viewers' help to continue. Hope & sympathy alone don't feed or pay the vet bills unfortunately, and every cent to these animals is a matter of life and deth. I choose life for these animals and donate a little every month to small shelters and rescue centers. Plz choose life too and donate to a n animal shelter or rescue center of your choice, even if just a small amount. Saving lives is definitely a collective community effort...Plz join this noble effort.
Or if you can’t donate money, donate a little time! Shelters/rescues always need helping hands, as well as & donations like towels, blankets, etc. ❤ 🐕 🐈 🐰
What do you do to the legitimate dog breeders? I actually know two breeders, they make a wonderful living! Yet I'm told you hound them...people need puppies, legitimate.
Dude, stop commenting everywhere for people to go vegan. You're one of those people who makes vegans look bad. Like you arent helping your cause, just making people believe more in the "vegan stereotypes"@BenjoCovers

You know the saddest thing? It’s not that she was forced to be a brood mare but the fact that her kids had all been taken away from her. Most animals form a strong bond to their children so it’s just heartbreaking that literally all her children were stolen from her. She’d have more just to have them taken away too. I feel so bad for her. Hopefully she can live the rest of her life just enjoying being a happy dog.
It's not necessarily they were taken away, it'e the fact that breeders take them away way too early (especially puppy mill breeders). Once the puppy gets to a certain age the mom will naturally push them away as they wean. But, puppy mills can shorted the lifespan of dogs, they are kept in cages 24/7 and breeding so many times in such a short timespan is incredibly unhealthy.
Thanks to you Lucy gets what all the dogs want. Freedom to be loved and cared for. It's wonderful to see. God Bless you and all the dogs including Lucy.
I’ve got one of these discarded puppy mill breeding dogs. So timid at first but so loving once they feel safe. Will never leave my side, happy to experience everything
I was blessed to get a little French bulldog that was rescued from a Puppy Mill. She had never touched the ground before her rescue as she spent her life living in a cage stacked three cages high in the back bedroom of a suburban home. 40 dogs were rescued, and eventually one ended up with me. She was approx 4 years old and the vet said she had been forced bred from her first heat, which obviously should never happen. Her last birth resulted in a Homemade/DIY c-section by the puppy mill owner because the dead puppy was stuck in the birth canal. They knew there was another puppy in there so-they had to get that money! That poor little mama suffered horribly and I did my level best to give her the best life possible. She was socially awkward, never learned what toys were but she LOVED people and was so sweet. I miss her every day. ❤ Rescued dogs are the best! They are SO appreciative and loyal.
I’ve owned two puppy mill breeder moms and you are so right about the rewards. It take a lot of time, live, and patience but it eventually pays off. It also helps to have another pupper around to teach them how to be a dog. I wouldn’t trade my experience for anything. ❤❤❤
@@debbystefaniak3241 Well said! I was really sad that she had no idea what a toy was and she never learned. I say she was my least bright dog but she was well behaved and potty trained in less than three days. So she had SOME sense, but all she wanted was to sit beside me or follow me from room to room while I puttered around the house after work or on weekends. She just wanted love. 😊
These Dodo videos of these poor dogs always get me teary-eyed. It breaks my heart knowing that people can treat these animals with such indifference and cruelty 😞
Lee has changed the lives of so many dogs who otherwise wouldn’t have made it. What a sweet girl Lucy is. Glad Lee could take her and give her a good life. We thank you, Lee, for doing what most of us would love to do but can’t due to circumstances.
