It's amazing how many people realise the potential for real danger and that some can be difficult to handle....it's almost like they're venomous or something...
This is America. You should be able to buy a venomous snake if you want. You should get training on venomous first. You can buy agun without first training, which is dangerous imo just like buying a venomous animal without training.
@@DustinLikesJiujitsu you should NOT be able to just buy a venomous snake if you want, because it could be dangerous for not just you but the snake. Training and experience should be mandatory for owning exotic pets.
@@DustinLikesJiujitsu You shouldn't be able to buy either without first demonstrating you are competent enough to care for/handle them, via the requirement of a license
That little Rattlesnake is adorable (from a safe distance). Really loved the fact the larger Rattler decided it wasn’t even worse rattling properly when moving into her new large enclosure, she was like ‘oooh an upgrade, this hotel is far better than my last one!!’ They even provide in-room snacks!
S. Pacific rattlesnakes are found where I live in San Diego CA. Their color varies from the beautiful pattern seen in this little one to almost jet black. Some of the prettiest are in Baja California.
honestly even if you're someone's scared to open the cage I'd hope they could pour some water through the grate into the bowl :'( Also, could you give Sophia a hammock in her new cage? She was so cute hanging in it 😍
I know, I was thinking that if I was suddenly the unexpected guardian of venomous snakes, I might be a little nervous opening their enclosure too. I'm not even particularly scared of snakes, and I know many people are. That said, I hope I would pour them water through the grate. (I think I followed the story properly - that their original owner left these snakes with a second man, who reached out to the woman who reached out to Emily? I could see the second man being understandably frustrated to suddenly have such a spicy responsibility, I think most people would be.) I hope their last temporary owner did give them water through the grate, and just let it dry up when they knew Emily was coming to pick the snakes up, because they didn't want it to make a mess during transit.
I would never handle hots but when my grown daughter & I worked as vet techs together, it was nice to fully understand the capabilities of your co-worker. Emily & Ed are so good together! Thanks for taking care of these babies.
@@devilsadvocate8946 most issues came from management or co-workers not able to deal with it. I still live with daughter's family. We get along really well. I think multigenerational homes have lots of advantages.
Wow you have real rattle snakes now! Back home in Nevada there's an old boom town called Virginia City. And outside one of the shops or saloons (can't remember) they have a barrel that says: Warning! Baby Rattlers! and when you peak inside you will find, lo and behold, two small baby rattles... the shaky toy... for babies. It's always a kick tricking kids to peak inside and watching them go from scared to mildly amused.
I'm guessing personal means the ones that won't ever be shown in the zoo nor is involved in programmes. Sometimes personal can also mean ones that don't breed too. Usually snakes you have for your own enjoyment and you don't expect anything from them.
I’m holding out hope that y’all announce you are branching out in the hots world and will have a collection named after the rest of NSync, featuring Lancehead Bass, Chris Kraitpatrick, and JCottonmouth Chasez.
Thank you guys, thank you thank you for being able to take all these snakes in. I cannot wait to see that Southern grow and be another beauty, and I hope your "Western Girl" makes herself into the Snake Discovery Movie Star she knows she is ^^ Again, thank you.
I have the exact same cage for my Leo as the filthy one for the diamondback and the fact that there was a 3 foot (guessing) snake in the same size enclosure as my 11 inch lizard is ridiculous
I think you guy could get a new turtle: an ALLIGATOR SNAPPING TURTLE! They don’t really do much of anything! But they are super cool! All they need is a big tub and food every now and then! They are just so amazing! But your videos are awesome and it’s so cool watching you deal with venomous snakes!
@@SarahabdMax73 I wasn't aware there were several different types of snapping turtle, I've only every seen the alligator snapping turtles, so I assumes theirs was one. I apologize for that.
I am paranoid when people don’t use hands, when they told the story at the end when it said “Enthusiastic Ed loading” he took his hands off to shake his hands and I was like “Ed keep your hands on the steering wheel”
Its a western diamond rattlesnake its confirmed i looked it up they have the same exact details and colors and the western diamond backs have a darker tail color than the other
Instead of the husband saying he doesn't want more pets, he's the one that wants to keep everybody!!! Haha I'd keep her, she is beautiful, and while typically it's unnecessary to breed burmas, she is a lovely color and pattern. I'd love to have her if I didn't have rats and a cat. Walking snackies.
You should name the yellow one popcorn it butter those are cute names and when I thought of the name butter I was :Smooth like butter like criminal under cover. Lol😂
I absolutely love your videos. I actually just learned how to comment on videos just a little bit ago. I’ve been watching your videos for a long time since before I even knew how to like videos took me a little bit to unhide like videos enough to learn how to do that or until subscribe it was a long time after I learned how like, but it was really loud how subscribe to tubers And recently I learned how to calm down videos which one is that I love your videos. Please never stop making snakes because I really want to snake low back but my mom won’t let me get one because she’s afraid of snakes I’m thinking of just getting a really, really really giant version of the biggest snake enclosure what is can then just putting my stuffed snake die named lemon because he is yellow He’s cool beans I think I’m just putting them in there there’s how much is snake
Directions cage is awesome I’ve always wanted to do something like that for my tree frogs and Anoles could I also put my Everglades rat snake in there I’ve had him with tree frogs before but I’d like to know your professional opinion
I really like the Western diamond black but I think you should give the snake to a venom extraction company so that her venom can be used to save lives
So I like and I think you're beautiful creatures and so I looked up like just a snake videos and I was so just sad because when I looked at it it was just a bunch of videos of people being like top 10 most dangerous snakes if you see this snake run just and someone seemed terrible and like people stuffing much of vipers in a small hole not even in like their normal habitats and then like hurting or killing and it was just terrible and I wish people would stop hurting and abusing snakes cuz snakes don't want to hurt
My ball python stopped eating stopped going to the bathroom for free times we have fed them do you think that you can help me out I can't think of anything else to do for them
I was crying at the “mines well behaved ☺️🥰😍” as you can hear Ed’s hissing and rolling around on the floor out of frame as he tries to pick it up and talk to it
I think the immediate behavior change from Sophia really shows how badly they were being cared for. Went from angry angry rattlesnake to "yes angry but also I'm glad I'm put down and cool! Look at this space! Nice, a ledge!" In a very short time, all from having the appropriate (CLEAN) space and access to water
@@xanopython9062 I rewatched the story, it wasn’t the original owner they met with to pick them up. The original owner sounded like he didn’t take care of the rattlesnakes properly, but it’s unclear if he did know how and just didn’t or he simply didn’t know. Then the original owner gave the snakes to another guy that truly didn’t know how to look after them and didn’t seem to actually want them anyway. It isn’t said how the snakes ended up with someone else, whether the second guy did want the snakes at first then changed his mind or didn’t want them to begin with and the original owner just left him with them and took off, and I doubt Em & Ed know the full story either. For me, as much as the original owner claimed to like his rattlesnakes, it sounded like he didn’t do proper research or attempted to do the bare minimum. Whether that was coz of financial issues or just not caring as much as he should’ve, who knows. As for the second guy, I personally don’t want to say whether or not he’s at partial fault without knowing the full story of how the exchange went and how he ended up with the snakes. At this point, it’s not really worth wasting energy over, this happened a while ago now. At least these snakes are getting the love and care they deserve now
My German Shepard is not a big fan of the vet either, after they spayed her she wouldn't even let them put her leash back on but when she got home she was the sweetest girl too me hm? (her name is oska)
I think Emily gets a lot of the credit for his progress. Without her I'd imagine he'd be like the rest of us computer geeks stuck behind screens all day (I saw the same thing happen to my brother after he met his wife).
I was just thinking how much of a good team they are and how much I’ve learnt just from watching them rescue snakes today. It’s nice to see how excited and enthusiastic Ed gets as well as Emily :)
I really liked how you produced a "complete" video here, I haven't seen all of your videos, but a lot of YTr's give a half or a peice of a story so you have to keep coming back for updates, this was a very welcome break from that with the whole narrative. Well done
Most of the time they try to get everything into one video. The only down side is its hard to tell the timeline of events as the order of video releases doesn't always match up to the order things actually happened and due to their schedule and waiting time between parts of each whole video some of them take months before the full story is ready to be shown in one video.
@jessicaconda4825 honestly, good on them for even being able to keep track of all the footage and the timelines for all of the different things going on all at once.
When I rescued my ball python, the people I was rescuing him from said he was very aggressive and would strike at people. But as soon as I picked him up, he seemed like the sweetest little thing every. Anyways, so glad you could rescue these snakes, loved the video xx
I love the difference in seeing Ed practically chasing the Burm around the room, but then seeming relaxed but clearly being super serious and attentive handling the diamond back with the hook. I just love how you both can come across as very chill but are so obviously knowledgeable in knowing exactly what you're doing. So glad these snakes are in such good hands now. And I remember when you did the venomous snake handling training so to see you now able to do this with such confidence is amazing.
I love that Ed and Emily always think the best of every animal they take it. It would be so easy to say that sassy berm was mean or had behaviour issues, but still they see the beautiful animal that she is and her potential to find a perfect home with a bit of work and care. Love seeing Ed handle the snakes too on camera, so we can see how skilled he is, he and Emily always impress me!
The name “Room Service” made me laugh. Imagine saying to a friend something like “Hey I got some new room service” and then presenting the polite little snake
That Burm was quite gorgeous indeed! Also been watching through some old videos, and gotta say I appreciate all over again how much more Ed is a part of the videos. Even just him talking wasn't very common, let alone a rare Ed sighting! He and Emily are an awesome dynamic duo :D
I feel like over time Ed became really good at asking questions to kind of "interview" Emily, esp on things that might've been forgotten. He sneaky on us. V cute, v knowledgeable duo 😊
I love how you guys drove to pick up 2 rattlesnakes but somehow end up with 3 large pythons as well. I think it's a relief that all 5 snakes seem to be in good condition overall so hopefully they didn't live in bad condition for too long.
I'm just imagining their families' reactions to this episode. Isn't it nice. They're finally living nice and safe in an alligator free home and theyjustgotwhatnow?
Can I just say I'm so happy Ed's showing more and more of himself on camera? I remember when we never even saw the guy! So proud of you, man! You're both incredible, keep up the great work. I hope one day I can come visit Snake Discovery in person :D
As someone from where western diamondbacks are native to, its so awesome seeing a western diamondback in the zoo, and it'd make an incredible permanent addition if she isn't too stressed- they're so iconic as you mentioned, and extremely misunderstood in our area too. People hear the rattle and freak out, when all that means is they want to be left alone.
I also am from somewhere rattlesnakes are native to (I don’t think we have diamondback rattlesnakes in indiana, we have eastern massasauga rattlesnakes and timber rattlesnakes) but it’s so cool seeing them in zoos. There’s a wildlife center at the brown county state park (which is far from me but I still travel to for the view) that has a diamondback rattlesnake and it’s absolutely beautiful. I’m sure it’s stressful to care for but it’s wonderful for education and viewing.
i, too, am where the western d-backs are, and i've heard (was it from clint's reptiles? was it a local psa? i can't remember) that ppl doing an unalive to the ones that rattle just as a warning are unintentionally forcing selective breeding, and the population is now more likely to just strike instead of let you know they're there
I really appreciate how nonjudgemental you were of the previous owner. Yes, there may have been care issues, but you didn’t talk down to them or anything, which is absolutely the grace needed so people can continue to surrender animals. Thank you for all that you do!!!
Sophia was so much calmer when you put her in her new enclosure. She must've been really stressed out in the old one with not enough space and too dirty, plus no water? Like, seriously? Glad she found you guys! ❤️
kind of amazing see just how much sophia calmed down after the quarantine, was fine being seen through the glass and barely rattled getting picked up, shows how stressed she must have been :(
That golden hypo burm is so beautiful 🥺 She seems really sweet and friendly too, I really hope you keep her! She reminds me of Popeye and I really miss Popeye. Thanks for saving those poor rattlesnakes, the state of the enclosure for the Western Diamondback was horrible. Happy to see they are in good hands now and I'm excited for all that's in store for your rattlesnake education program! Rattlesnakes are so feared and maligned and I hope that with your zoo and program you will be able to spread awareness about them and help people understand and respect them. It makes me so sad that there are still rattlesnake roundups in the U.S. and I hope that your education program will help people realize how important rattlesnakes are so that people will want to conserve instead of kill them. Also like many people have said, it's wonderful to see how comfortable Ed is on camera now! He is so fun and sweet and knowledgeable and I love his sense of humour! Emily and Ed, you make a great team and it's so great to see what you've accomplished together. I hope I can visit your zoo and meet you both one day!
