Get it done, brother 💪 great model HR and investment 👌. I am looking into an HD 179 ci, 1965. There are a lot of them around still, but in pour condition, my father had an HR and an HD in 1971 brand new still back then, their color schemes were orwsome back in the day. Good luck with the HR buddy 👍
My dad had a HR in 1972. EDY 445. A station wagon. I got one in about 1972 and it was amazing! I’d love one now. I now live in the Uk in Newcastle upon Tyne. There’s a guy around here with a HD station wagon with a 149 in it. I’ve not managed to get him to pull over yet,but I will. Sweet cars!
@@elheffeschopshop I have no idea. I’ve been trying to get the owner to pull over for years. I’d be seriously interested. He only drives it in the summer. He probably thinks I’m a nutcase. 😂 I have tried reaching out on Facebook locally. Every time I see him I’m on my Harley and he might think I’m going to car Jack him or something. He has to be an ex-pat. It’s the only reason I can think of. Maybe it was his dad’s car and he imported it? All speculative obviously.
We had a school excursion back in the day, did a tour of the production line building these cars in Dandenong . Some years later I worked for GMH at Fisherman’s Bend developing the WB and VB Commodore.
Well done fella's, good old car you have there, fun to play with and enjoy the cruising. You can open the front door and hide a bottle of favorite beverage on the door hinge too if you ever need to sneak one in somewhere like the old days. Still plenty of parts around for HR"S feck i still have some loitering around. Stay safe and enjoy.
Good one guys a Pyrenees Blue with Samoan Tan interior, beautiful. I remember my Uncle buying one new in 1967 a Savonnah Bronze Metallic with Bone interior and he treated it like a baby. EH to HR Premiers were the best-looking Premiers made by Holden with the HR coming out on top, especially with the aluminum boot garnish, ah la Chevrolet.
I don't know much about Australian automotive history other than your fondness for utes! This is a great looking little car! I like the style of the front wheel arches, they don't look anything like their American GM relatives. Maybe a bit like early '60s Buick or reversed Chevrolet from the same era. You seem like a great bunch of guys, I didn't see any classic cars at my wedding! I'm happy to be a new subscriber. Oh, I must add that Australia has produced the best hotrod song of all time, 6L GTR by The Chats!!
@@roflman I have now! Let's just say that HQ454 Monroe and 6L GTR are both better than any car song that the Beach Boys ever did. The Chats video is a big part of the song for me, an incredible piece of art on it's own.
nice old hr a good up grade for the brakes is lx disc's and calipers still allows you to fit the early rims another good up grade is a bosch dizzy no more points to worry about
Great work boys, another cool old Holden back on the road. You wanna start calling Ronnie "BHP" as he's "the quiet achiever". Subbed, keep the vids coming.
In omg you guys are so lucky in Aus so many left .I'm in NZ have owned many Holden's .my fav is the fb,ek,eh ej.had many .would love one now but way pricey now lol.
Last one I saw was hr wagon.14000 186 red eng .wrecked cars for 20 years lost alot of them in the 90s scrap got high and many went to scrap as 300 a car so everyone was dumping cars ,such a shame ,I could have saved so many when was younger.had some great cars.
Good to see a bunch of young blokes working on an old girl like the HR, you certainly know what you are doing 👍. Young Ronnie'Havachat' cracked me up. Just a quiet achiever. Were the parts easy to come by?
Hey fellas. Is there going to be an update on the Hr Prem? And maybe some more ownership background (eg.it looks like a low mile car, even prior to its ten year hiatus.) Full factory (X2) gauge option is interesting.
