Well what have we started haha the goal is to get it running and driving also stopping 😂 so we can enter the Max Pinjarra car show April 7th 2024 If you would like to help us out grab your self some Down the shed with Byron Merch check out three3s.com.au/creators/down-the-shed-with-byron/ Cheers everyone 👍
I've always liked the straight 6, I had a HQ Panel Van, used to cruise to Alice Springs, it would only do about 160km/h , but it was a smooth ride ,thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Gday Donald Yeah so we have ended up with about 5 6 cylinder engines now cant have to many haha The Big fella and I are enjoying the time together Take it easy mate Byron 👍
Very hard to kill these red engines from holden they are tuff, I'd say once everything frees up and is all lubed, she will start and have compression. Love the video keep up the good work go the HT.
Mate sensational! I love when DJ finds a fixer. My brother and I are going to get into the XA he found... its already head and shoulders better than it was since Graham replaced the roof. Can't wait to see what you do with this ute!
Yeah mate i seen the last video on the XA love it The ute for now get it running driving and stopping haha then take it to a car show Its entered as a street machine haha 😄
@@downtheshedwithbyron Just running with the way it looks now would be brilliant, it has pedigree and a hell of a story. Graham thought we should chuck a dirty old 302 in the XA just to get it driving and he was right...
God that Belmont was ordered originally with nothing. I love a good old 3-on-the-tree! I reckon that motor will go well but I recommend it to be pulled out & have a good going over. Brakes, I'd upgrade to discs definitely. A lot of welding to be done. Make sure you check the chassis just going back from the front wheels as that's the part of the chassis that goes first. Holden HT's were built from May 1969-July 1970 so it's as old as me.
Hey mate how you going 3 on the tree thats are immobiliser haha The goal is to just get it running and driving also stopping again trying to use second hand parts as much as possible then we are entering it in a car show haha Any how mate take it easy and thanks again 👍
@@downtheshedwithbyron It should be possible but maybe replace the braking system with one from a Commodore. I'd start asking your mates in the area if they have any spare engine parts available. I haven't done anything to my 2 VY utes for a while but i've been working on my mates VE ute. Today it's caliper painting.
Pedders has helped us out with replacing parts for the brake so its cheap and i wont the big fella to learn drum brake then we can do a conversion later. The latest on commodores helped a mate with the vy replace the radiator and i sorted out the cooling system on the vr calais video out today Got a oil sample kit to teat the vy wagon engine which i think will be a cool video And been playing with derby cars haha
@@downtheshedwithbyron We've been dispelling the myths associated with the VE's LY7 V6 Alloytec which is actually a good engine. Not as much low end torque as the Ecotec. We've swapped the 20 inch rims back to 18's, I've organised a mate in Port Macquarie to repaint the hardlid & bonnet & today since it's sunny we're painting the brake calipers.
