If i'm mumbling a bit in this video it's because i'm still having a bunch of dental issues and honestly it's uncomfortable to talk lol. The camera I have you have to extra enunciate your words for it to pick up what you're saying clearly and my mouth just isn't cooperating at the moment :')
Hello, Emiology! I know Rats are very clean animals, but... I got them the 'Space pod" hide, and they love it. I have put bedding, napkins, etc. to soak up their pee. it soaks it up, but it doesn't control Odor, and my rats stay in there so much that THEY are smelling like their pee and poo. any Ideas on how to get my Rats to not stink?🤔
i love watching you set up the temporary cage - i put coconut fiber in part of my tanks to help with the smell of my mice and i LOVE watching my first timers go nuts over the texture. i can only imagine how yours feel when they get rescued and go into a cage so well put together, even before they get into the real cage!!
I could cry honestly watching them be excited over what I still think is a ‘boring’ setup as it’s only temporary but compared to what they have it was so many first times for them 🥺
@@Emiology they still have a lot of enrichment and fresh grasses. Love to see people caring for their rodents. They are very mistreated in pet stores and the general customers think that is the standard of living for those animals unfortunately...
You can’t imagine how much joy it gives my mum and I to see someone who loves mice as much as we do share their knowledge and enthusiasm with others. We’ve been rescuing and keeping mice for…well…I thought it was about 17 years, my mum thought closer to 20, but certainly a long time. ☺️ Since we started watching your channel we’ve learnt so many tips that we’re going to implement. Thank you so much. I’m heading for your store to see what’s on offer! Keep up the great work.
I knew I had to brace myself when you said, these are the picture of the cages, and it only went downhill from there. It's amazing that you are looking at mice that need a better home and essentially rescuing them from a potential bad home, because of all the wrong information the previous owner gives.
Your videos taught me how to give my mice the best life possible. Sadly yesterday I woke up to my favourite, friendliest and kindest mouse dead. She was around 8 months old and no other mouse I own even likes people, and she loved free roaming for 1-10 mins . Your videos help a lot !!!! I plan on possibly getting a male to neuter or a really friendly female as none of my 5 other mice are very friendly, even if I work with them they won’t ever be as friendly due to either being a bit too old to be socialised or just not being as curious. I’m so glad you saved these little mice. Who knows what sort of care they would get if someone else got them !!!
awe the little white one looks just like my mouse when he was young! He is now getting older and a little slower though he still has his sassiness though hahaha
They're so precious 🥺And so happy even in a small temporary bin cage. I'm scared to clip mouse nails, but I think my rocks and wood items helps with that fortunately.
Oo! Those little popsicle stick dangly things hanging from the lid of the temporary cage are cool. I am thinking of making something similar for my mice soon.
They are both so sweet! Wren looks almost exactly like my Misty, who is also a pied red eyed siamese, right down the the white patch on her back. Hope they integrate well with your others and live their best life!
These beautiful mice will have such a good life with you! I just rehomed two 4.5 month old male rats. The previous owner hardly had any toys, hides, hammocks and enrichment in the cage for them - poor things. Now they are absolutely loving life, they get lots of interaction (their confidence has come on leaps and bounds since being with me), they get daily enrichment, a much healthier and balanced diet, a suitable, busy cage, etc. I love to see how happy they are!! ❤️
so cute emi! :) 💗 wren and lark are adorable too, can't wait to see them thriving in your home for years to come. love your vids and content as always! hoping your dental issues clear up too ouch :( sending love and best wishes!!!
Just finished watching and this was such a cute and interesting video - and I really love the editing!! :) And I can't wait to see the intro, fingers crossed they will all get along well! ♥
I'm so glad you gave these mice a wonderful home! Their home is so fantastic! They look very happy. :) I started fostering rats a month ago, and when my first fosters found their forever home it was bittersweet. I am SO happy for them. I have a trio right now, and your videos have helped me a TON. I understand the rats much better, which has in turn lead to more positive interactions. Thank you for all you do! I hope to adopt my own rats some day, but I don't have the extra expenses I would need.
My first 2 mice that I adopted from the pet store lived in this cage for less than half their lives, yes I did have them in this cage, and you were the reason I upgraded to a 20 gal, and then realized it needed to be even bigger and upgraded to a 40 gal, (all I have room for at the moment) and it’s so chock full of things the mice barely have room to roam!! I am very proud of how much I’ve improved in 2 years since my first 2 babies, I’ve now owned 5 mice in total, (at different time in different groups) and the last remaining og mouse just turned 2! I wish you the best!!
I can’t wait to see them be introduced to your other mice. In the next few months I’m planning on introducing a couple into my group. I’m already super nervous. I’m going to start getting some things set up soon, like a temporary cage and other things that I might need. I’m excited but very nervous as it’s my first time introducing some into the group
@@Emiology I have a suggestion for you, but I'm not sure if it sells in the UK or not.. but remember when you showed how you tame your Rats? well, I found this cool thing on "Exotic Nutrition Pet supply company". its a bonding scarf! It has a giant hole with a zipper for if you want to close it. there is airholes and everything to make sure your pet is alright in there. not sure if "Exotic nutrition pet supply company" sells in the UK, but maybe there's something similar out there? IDK, I just wanted to let you know in case your interested.
I can’t believe your mice just sit on chat chair when your talking. My two girl mice Badger and Cornflake would just crawl down the silk blanket on the chair and make a run for it.
Wren looks just like my girl Sprinkle :'). Sprinkle recently got an infection and she's on antibiotics and painkillers twice a day. It's so upsetting seeing her in pain and I don't know how much longer I have with her, so it's so nice to see Wren and think of her. They will both be so happy with you!
Ooooh they are so cute... Goodness me, I'm in love with Wren, her little brown nose is gorgeous. I also have 2 little black and white girls exactly like your Lark. ❤️ Great rescue job, you're so beautiful lovely lady ❤️❤️❤️😍
I love seeing people's pets and i can't wait to get more mice myself! Two of my mice have died this year because of a tumor, one a few days ago and one in January, so i only have three left. Btw I have a mouse that looks just like Wren! Love from Finland
That's really interesting that you say that about your black mice and nail trims 🤔 my black gerbil needs her nails trimmed regularly, but my golden gerbil never did, neither does my lilac gerbil - I wonder if there's some genetic reason?
I love rescue story. They are so cute! Now they will be spoiled. I receive last week my firts order of Boggle Buddies. I really love love the wood pin and the better together pin and keyring. I bought 2 pins of each. One to put on a canvas bag and the other and the other to put on my bulletin board. I also like my 4 polaroid photos.🥰❤🧡💛💚💜🐁🐭
Can’t believe how freaking cute they are, and why they were unwanted?!😟🐁🐀 Edit: can you explain how to cut their nails bc I don’t know how and I am scared to cut their toes
@@betzology6711 my mouse is 2 yrs old and has a scratching issue, yes she is from the pet store, and yes we took her to the vet, and yes they clipped her nails, and yes it cost 80$, and yes it went away, and yes it came back, and yes we did it ourselves, and yes it went away, and yes it came back. I am also spraying wound medicine on it and putting anti itch medicine into her water.
Don’t cut their nails unless they have an issue that is caused my nails, but if you need to, hold the mouse firmly but not roughly in a towel, or have someone else do that, and use baby nail clippers, and trim off as little as possible. This is a two person job, one person holding and positioning the mouse, and another clipping.
@@nonono83 I had a mouse, her nails were really long and they were kinda going down or like that Idk how to explain but I thought that she needs to cut her toe nails off but when I asked my friends that had mice they said that you shouldn’t cut nails ever so i didn’t, But now is too late she died months ago and yeah😓
Jollye's is pretty good for pet care, tbh... definitely not up to breeder standards of genetics; but when I got my rats originally, they background-checked me twice and made sure my cage was big enough (strangely they didn't want to sell me one of their own cages, sooooooo...)before they'd sell to me, so that was quite a good sign. I felt fine buying from Jollye's 👍 Your little guys look like they'll make a great addition to the group!
Omg, they are so so pretty! They are so lucky that they ended up with you. 🐭❤ My male mouse also puts things in his water bowl, mostly dried herbs. I think he is trying to make tea. 😂
Yes! Although it’s more so because a lot of local rescues are closed for intakes as the situation with other animals like rabbits and hamsters is so bad at the moment. There’s been a few hoarding cases with hundreds of mice needing homes but none that I can get to distance wise
Always happy to watch Happy videos of animals and what a great thing to support comment like and copy link to show your support too if you enjoy this as much as I do!!!!!!!
So glad you rescued them and they seem really happy and relaxed with you. I really love Wren and the story behind her name, I've had similar experiences in the past with small white hamsters. By the way, what part of the UK do you live in?
If you decide to put them with the other mice you have, you should def do a "how I bond my mice" video! I'm currently in the process of bonding 2 new mice with 2 older mice and I would love some tips.
