Chris, you should move to West Houston or Southwest Houston. It is very diverse, we have amazing flea markets, asian food, tons of amazing thrift stores and bins, no state taxes, small biz friendly and I would source for you because that is what I love doing! ❤
You said you didn't know why salty Crew sells. It sells because anything Fishing related is a HUGE market that's actually pretty well overlooked by a lot of resellers."fish" "fishing" are PRIME key words.
What about the brand "Reels"... I live in Florida and run into the brand OFTEN, but never pick it up as I'm not sure if I should start to invest in this brand... thoughts?
Not sure how I missed this month’s ago but happy to have caught it now. I plan on watching again to really pound the point in which I really needed to hear as my inventory has taken over my house. Thanks for the insightful content!
Things have changed so much over the years. 23 years ago we sold everything for premium profits. Many many more sellers today gradually have brought prices to rock bottom. I miss the old days. :(
I have been on eBay since 1998. Absolutely spiral downward in profit, let alone thrifting. The competition at all levels , plus the complicated accounting and algorithms…ugh!!
My cost of goods is about .45 each. We have warehouses where I live full of used clothing. We pick through Gaylord’s. They are open to the public 2 days a week. Small town with very few resellers.
A lot of flea markets let you get free things especially clothes when they start picking up. I've got almost new actual designer clothes n brand name mostly. I'm going to my flea market tomorrow
Charity shops/ thrift shops, are now selling items at eBay prices, I questioned some item prices, say that I thought the thrift store was a little expenses, the tag had our price and eBay price, the lady turned the laptop around and said look, we are now pricing the same as eBay, definitely changed in a big way…
About the only brands of these I find in Middle GA at sometimes reasonable prices are Nike and Columbia. 95% on the rack are store brands in thrift stores. I'm also fairly inexperienced and trying to learn. Lucky to find numbered Levis sometimes.
And a lot of the athletic brands don't sell for much, Nike included. I rarely pick up Nike or Under Armor unless it's dirt cheap because there's tons of it listed and not a lot of profit generally.
Minor complaint - was expecting a video about brands from the start... and it was a video about random thoughts and ideas with not much structure for too long. Or maybe I am just old and meticulous and easily fall for clickbait titles. I saw your pinned message now and the timestamps later.. but sheesh, this series is not your best work. If anything, Im inspired to make my own videos for new resellers in 2023 - thank you for that. I'll continue to subscribe, to your channel its definitely top of the foodchain. Just was expecting more from an inspiring overachiever. Be well.
This is very helpful and more true than people think. I mean people often think quickly and get a wrong answer of if I buy for 1 and sell for 20, that's worse when I could sell it for 80. That's 59 more profit. However, that thinking doesn't factor in time. If something sits with you for 3 months, when you could've flipped it in 1 day, you could've had a better return per day reinvesting that 19 profit into 19 more items. Even if it takes you 7 days to get a sale it's much better to have more money to reinvest faster than to sit on something for months making no profit. (20-1)/1=20x your money. 80x your money in a month vs 20x after 4 garage sale buying every week for the same amount of time is 20^4=160000x your money. Extreme example cause you're not going to find 8421 wahl clippers at a garage sale but you're probably okay with taking a lower roi on more expensive products which make you more money with less risk.
Very cool video. I wonder if the Rolling Stones Shirt (Grand Slam) + one of the other high dollar (Homerun) pieces made the same amount as the rest of the items combined.
When im listing price i always consider buyer shipping and tax. If i got in 3.60 i sell in 15 to 20 then I’m open for offer i dont want to hold inventory $10 profit is fine with me
This sounds so bizarre to me but I guess maybe it’s because I refuse to do auctions. I sell BDG jeans regularly for $25-30 and I am not a celebrity or an influencer lol
Very difficult to be able to source that much inventory to sustain those numbers; regardless of genre of goods. Not applicable to most of us, I don't think.
@@dailyrefinement No, it didn't fall on deaf ears. But to scale even a fraction; to find so much quality goods to sell at low prices is extremely difficult. Even with years of work building a network and supply chain.
Where I live in Virginia, and hour west of DC, those Charcoal Urban Outfitters jeans would be priced between $6-12 at a thrift store. And, don’t get me started on shoes….trashed name brand athletic shoes $15-25; in good condition, thrift stores charge $30-50, depending on brand, style, etc…
All I can tell you is start switching tags. It's not a moral thing. They get everything for free, underpay their employees (especially those with mental disabilities) and then most of the profit goes to the ceo and not charity. Thrift stores in America are a top example of charity corruption
Never ceases to amaze me the way people will buy jeans for even $15 plus ship on eBay, when they could walk into any thrift store and get the same or better for $5. I Guess some people don’t have access to stores….
They’re buying time. No guarantee the stores will have the sizes and condition the buyer wants. Especially for women’s clothing where sizing is brand-specific, finding exactly what you want is difficult even if plentiful stores in area.
I will. The right fit, rise, brand, sizing, color, texture... makes a difference for some people. Just look at how crazy women's sizing charts can vary for body types as well as the quality control.
I have many people consider thrift stores are trash and smelly so they never go in. Its dirty and people dont want to clean the items also. If you are willing to do the dirty work and clean items and list with nice pictures. You have a business.
Do you have any goodwill outlets near you? I’ve sent there and they sell by the lb. That is going to be my go to as I start my reselling venture. Also, do you pay to get the clothes washed at the laundromat or something better selling? I also want to sell my sports cards, should I create another shop?
My personal opinion is to stay away from brands, one way to get your account suspended, all it takes is for a buyer to contact eBay, eBay will always side with the buyer. Would I be right in thinking, that you got suspended from eBay towards the end of 2022? Love reselling, but would never touch clothing, 80% of clothing purchased here in the UK, gets returned to eBay seller.People buy a suit, wear it fora night out, then return it. Not for me :-)
I have a pair of men's BDG that are new with tags. I've auctioned them over and over for $9.95 with no bids after I had them at fixed price for quite awhile.
@@dailyrefinement I keep up with ebays changing ways and I believe this listing is optimized. Good title, pictures, and description. Item specifics are filled out, even the additional ones.
@@vickymessmann4851 It all seems very contrived and as though we have no control over anything, anymore. In another video Daily Refinement stated that he thought ti was the end of reselling for most resellers because the algorhythm has gotten so complicated.
Do you have any tips for thise who sell toys :-) we just marked 1 year in ebay, with average of 3 sold items per day, we want to scale up :-) could we use your masterclass? ❤
So I’m a little confused. People can just buy items from you at affordable wholesale prices and sell them for profit if they’re willing to deal with the variance in time it takes to sell?
Hi! Most average seller that will only find sell a small percent of what you d0-, so we can't sell for so low of prices.also,so, how many items do you look up? It's harder to buy so low.
Wait, so if you bought them at $75 and sold them at $75? Wouldn't you have lost money from the shipping & listing fees, regardless of whether or not you sold at the price you bought them for? I'm confused 👀
Honestly, you talk so fast it is hard to follow you and a lot of what you said that I could follow made no sense. I'm no financial genius, but I just try to buy at a low price and sell for about double that cost plus shipping.
There is no way I could give stuff away at those prices and make a living. You can’t buy a pair of jeans here without paying at least 5 dollars a pair. How the hell are you selling a bundle of jeans for $10? No wonder we can’t sell jeans anymore at a decent price!
That's absurd. So you are going to pick up those BDG jeans at the bins for $2, and list, take photos, store, pick, and ship for a measly $1. Yeah, okay.
@@musashi-san____1409 he totally would. Stevie wonder was a doer regardless of what was in his way not one to sit at home slapping his meat complaining about how long an educational video is.
