Hi all, I have got a Mercedes E W211 . My car had the similar problem of not respond quickly when accelerating. I took the workshop they told me about camshaft sensor, air flow sensor, gear box oil etc, I spend a lot of money but nothing solved it. After watching this video I did the reset procedure and car looks new. Deeply grateful for the video

Used this on my mother's Merc, maybe three years ago. It works a treat. Today, her Merc is doing it again, albeit a long time after. We will use it again and probably get another few years use. If you take it to the dealer, they will likely charge you big money for a new transmission computer replacement. You'll recognize this trans problem when your car starts limping or stuttering when trying to accelerate. Eventually, the car won't go in to gear and is undriveable. Don't be that person stuck in traffic.
At the beginning because of your way talking and some of the mockery comments below , I thought this is a prank video... but I tried it anyway because my Automatic transmission stuck on d , no teptronic No reverse , nothing only D!! After I tried everything came back to normal & I don’t know if this is due to your video’s instructions or because I left the car off to cool down after the transmission got stocked... and I don’t care ... I am happy it is working now and thank you so much 🙏

thanks a bunch. my Mercedes s class 2009 started to be jearky not shifting up or down. changed oil still the same. until one day that it stoped. a red battery warning in dash board was shown for a few days. after resetting the gearbox. no worning and the gears are so smooth. thank you again
Thank-you. Mums merc was occasionally shutting down or wouldn't shift gears. The guys that service it says it's the solenoids in the trans. I tried this today and dad and I got it driving and shifting as it normally does. It may happen again, but at least we have this temp fix to get her rolling again. If it fixes it permanently, we know it's merely the computer, and you have literally saved us thousands of dollars. And if that's the case, that service company will never see our money again, despite their politeness and free chocolates.
Thanks. My 08 GL550 shifted really early out of 1st. Everything else was fine. I had it about a month with no change. I thought to jump online and see about rpm programming and saw your vid. Looked at others that were longer and not as clear. Went back to yours jumped in the GL and followed your instructions to the letter. When I was done I took it our for a spin and wow. Completly different. Shifts out of 1st at the proper higher range. Completly happy. Thanks...
I tried this on my 2000 Mercedes S-500. It worked great! Saved me a lot of time and money. Most people would automatically say you have transmission problem. Cost $6k - $7k to fix. No. Just try this first to see if It works. At least it did for me.
Did this yesterday one my w211 -05 the transmission feels much better and before i had some jerking when engine was cold its better now plus i had an esp error and thats gone . Thanks :))
If you find you have to do this all the time first change your filter and fluid. If it still persists change the conductor plate that is mounted above the valve body in the transmission. Common problem in 722.6 and Chrysler's NAG1 transmissions is failing conductor plate.
@@hammajgaming9602 The only miracle thing that's happened on my 2003 c230 is resetting the sunroof every once in a while. You press every direction for 3 seconds and then it starts working good again. I wouldn't doubt it fixes some tranny issues. Alot of this crap is computers/sensors. Need a scan tool to lead you the right way and common sense to finish it
Actually this does work. I did it on my 05 E500. My steps were slightly different and while you wait during the last step you'll here a click. I was waiting for the guy in the video to say that. Once reset the transmission is crisp and to me felt like it did when I first got the car.
Thanks for this instructions. Same slow downshifting from second gear to first, after this reset shits better and at the correct rpm. Before this I checked the automatic transmission oil using the special dipstick at 80 degrees oil temp and was at max.

OMG!! It’s works!! I have a c240 2005 was having a hard time with the transmission that wouldn’t downshift an popped up the “engine light” right after, watched this video the engine light disappear!! Thank you so much!!
The procedure is OK but thr time is at least 5 seconds before switch off, and at least 2 minutes before open de door. Also the fuel consumption records are reset to O. After that the transmision will learn the new driving style of the driver in the area mountaines, plaines, rain, ice, etc.
Thank you for sharing this useful tip. I have just bought a B-class which is currently having a full service including gearbox oil change. I will be doing this reset procedure before it leaves the workshop so the gearbox adapts to my driving style. I also tow a caravan occasionally, I'm guessing it might be helpful do this immediately before & after towing as well?

i’m trying this right now as i type i’m in the CLK430(was shifting fine through 1,2,3 but wouldnt shift up to 4 or 5th gear) praying this works! i’ve heard only good things. “KAY BYE” ((i’ll update shortly with results))
Awesome fix, thanks. After changing a dead battery on my C350, the trans would not shift into drive or reverse. Like the others said, probably save thousands at a European shop that would have charged $$$ to do the same thing.
Will this work if my gear stick won't shift? When I turn on my engine, the gear is in park but I can't shift it to reverse or drive unless I switch the engine off, keep pumping the foot break then turn the engine back and it works.
My C320 auto trans. was stuck in limp mode, Check Engine light on, and wouldn't shift out of 1st. I tried this fix, and though it did shift into 2nd (but not 3rd), when I next slowed down it wouldn't budge out of 1st. If your CEL is on, this fix will not work. You gotta pull the codes and go from there. Interesting procedure though......UPDATE: I tried this again but held pedal down only FIVE seconds and waited TWO minutes after releasing pedal, and IT WORKS! It now shifts from 3rd into 4th, but CEL still on.
I started feeling a clunking when my auto trans would downshift from 3-2 and from 2-1. My car is 2008 with 145,000 miles on it. It is at the point where a new transmission and the installation would cost more than the value of the car. I tried your reset method here and my 300 C Class drives smoothly with buttery like shifts up and down. Thank you! Why do I know that the Merc dealership would have tried to sell me some expensive fix for this problem?
Just bought a o7 c230 sport. I test drive it and it drove fine but later that day i drove it for lets say 50 min drive the car started acting up when i tried to give it gas it wouldnt go pass 20 and when i put it in park then back in drive kinda jump foward no check engine light has came on and it drove nice the next day ? Hello, just a kick question.This procedure works for every type of malfunction on the automatic transmission or only for software items? On the actual case, the situation is the follow; The car run only on a low gear. Looks like is on "safe mode". There is no warning signal and the gear box indicator shows the normal information and the even the transmission mode S or W does not work. Did you think that procedure can help me? By the way my car is MB C220 CDI. Many thanks in advance.
On a 2002 c 230 if the car refuses to go in 4 gear on a automatic transmission does it need to be reset or does it need a new automatic transmission.I checked the transmission pan and there is no signs of metal shavings.
Giuseppe Calvinisti did u figured it out ? the easy way is to use a fm transmitter and pair the transmitter with the radio same station, 88.1, and u can play any song on your phone kind of like a aux cord, it's good while you get a new radio system
Giuseppe Calvinisti i have an FM transmitter, connects to the cigarette lighter and has an AUX input. Theres also alot of FM transmitters that use Bluetooth and cost maybe $30-$40 U.S
I have a 02 Benz c230 kompressor, seems to shift into drive but doesn’t say it on the dash and does not shift it stays on first gear any help on maybe this is a batttery problem cause it works sometimes
its not helping to shift quicker or something if u reset youre atm it just learns again how YOU drive nothing more nothing less if you drive like a turtle the transmission will change the gear very fast if you drive fast all the time it will change the gears really late even if u push your gas 50%
Yesterday my car stopped pumping gas when putting d, had to remove battery cable for a couple of minutes for it to reset.. does it mean the gear is failing ?
Hi I have B250 -2014 couple of time when trying to do reverse, didn't go into reverse and have message ''Reversing Not Possible - Service Required" shut down and removed keys locked doors after 5 minutes message disappeared and able to reverse but it happened few times even in morning when start car to reverse did research on web, some had brand new car and it happened any advise would appreciate

Mario Jakic I bought a e350 08 and car is in limp mode I think. Only goes to 40 mph and rpm rises to like 4,5k. Did you have the same problem And it got fixed?
I did this reset on a A170 CDI with an automatic transmission Fail problem, where it gets stuck on one gear only (any gear, may differ) and will not work properly until the engine is turned off and wait a minute and restart, but no guarantee the problem will not repeat the next time you start the car and start driving. So I did the rest, but the engine light is still on. I guess the problem is more serious than I thought, but no one knows what the problem is. Mercedes ignored my email. We do not have a Mercedes garage or dealership within 200 to 1600 km or so.
I tried but it didn't work for me. My car still gets stuck moving between drive and reverse. It wont let me put it in reverse or park while the engine is on.
Sounds like your "R/P Lock" has malfunctioned. It's designed to prevent shifting from Drive to Reverse or Park while the car is in motion. Try taking your foot off the brake when shifting from Drive to Park.
Well ... I'm pretty sure that steps are for reset the electronic throttle body. At the same time that erase the memory of how past owners drove the car . But well if it help everyone .... let's put 1 more DO to the list.
