Resetting the fault in the BMW FRM2 of the reverse gear fault counter.
In this video we can see how the FRM electric unit of a BMW can be reset.
In these cars they have a protection system, that when a light has a short circuit fault, the FRM protects itself and removes the power from that light to avoid problems.
It has an internal counter, for example the reversing light, 50 times, the daylight 15 times.
When it reaches that limit, the FRM no longer gives power, so the light does not come on.
In the official BMW service they change the FRM directly, around 450 euros.
With this method you can reset without having to change the FRM
In my case, I have used the OBD2 D-can cable and the TOOLSET32 software.
The disadvantage of this software is that it is in German, which makes it quite difficult to use.
