This comes just in time! I purchased the spreadsheet this morning and put in all my numbers and plans for 2023 and then I was just watching your old budgeting videos when this popped up❤I'm snagging some of your money mindset tips, thank you so much for sharing your money flow routine so openly and transparently! You've majorly contributed to me feeling so confident in my own journey towards wealth management.
So this just popped up and i love your finance talks! If you dont mind, could you (if you haven't yet already) please talk about (if you dont mind) the different products you're investing in from your TFSA? New subbie here 😊😊😘
Loving your new year content, just what I was looking for. And I am big into really deeply reflecting on my money story this year, and what I want for 2023. Re: splitting with a partner, me too! We use the equity model, which is just tallying your total gross income together, and then dividing every shared expense based on the % you each contribute to the gross. I also make more so sometimes it feels a little painful, but I also have so much gratitude for being able to share that hard work & reward with my partner! It helps that we've flip flopped a couple times through our 10yr relationship :) Happy to be following your channel as a new sub for 2023!
Totally bought this spreadsheet because of you (So thank you, love!) but also messaged the creator and she said they're revamping the layout to include additional areas for Subscriptions and, I believe, more Bills...ya girl over here got way too many 🤣
Maybe this will be answered in another video, but how do you handle credit card payments within the spreadsheet and their balance if you're paying it off in full monthly? I almost feel like each of my credit card purchases would need to be broken down into an expense or bill category (including pulling out individual Amazon purchases) and then having a different spreadsheet that tracks the balance of the credit card because payment of that wouldn't be reflected in the transactions of this spreadsheet.
So because I only use my credit card for spending (groceries, personal spending, gas etc) I track all of those purchases in the expenses section (my budget with me videos show that) and then that would be your credit card payment since if you're using it and paying in full the numbers should match up. So you don't really need to track your "Credit card payment" since you're already tracking your expenses and spending!
While I love sharing my finances and tips on that I am still figuring out investing myself and will leave that part to the financial professionals! I don't really have any "tips" on investing but talking to a financial advisor is a great place to start! I invest for my retirement through my work and also personally!!
I plan on re-evaluating my finances for 2023. I'm frugal but trying to get better with my spending. I go out to eat during lunch at work once a week. My boyfriend and I go out to eat once a week but sometimes we spend more than plan. We are still hungry, order another meal, but share that meal. I think if we try to make sacrifices it'll help. Money goes fast. Most of our money goes to food. We need to improve on that.
Hi, I have a question about making a business account. Do you need to be a actual business with a llc to make a business checking account? I want to start RU-vid and make a different bank account for that income. Do you have any advice or tips for this?
It's going to be different depending where you live! I'm not a financial expert so I can't say for sure but I waited until I had a business license to open mine in Canada!
I love the idea of changing your money mindset. For me, the word Budget brings feelings of restricting myself instead of planning or managing my expenses. I feel like it has a negative connotation. So I love that you’re changing the word you use to help your mind view money differently!
Has the spreadsheet updated? I got one back early 2022 and it looks so different (bought from the hundreds club) this looks like a way better updated version!
Thank you so so so much Carter for this video because I was eagerly waiting for this financial reset video so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you reach 80K Subscribers very very soon!☺️💫❤️
Honestly there are no "advantages" I think it just comes down to your personal choice! I have tried financial software in the past and just haven't loved it for the way I like to oversee my finances so I use a spreadsheet! Just depends on what you like! Finances are so personal that you have to enjoy however you track them!
The term "resetting" doesn't have to be for everyone, you can come up with your own term. I view resetting as a fresh start, a chance to create new goals and habits for a new year. It doesn't have to mean going backwards but I do think in a sense it is starting fresh, which is what a new year is to me!
For me resetting is more like a review of the year. I always think I am not making any progress but when I do my review I actually see that’s not true. It gives me boost to keep going as I can see I actually do make progress. I question why I didn’t achieve a goal that I set previous year . What I can change to make it happen this year. Is it my mindset, my gameplan.
I love your nose ring can you share where it’s from or how to ask for it? I love that it’s tiny and so delicate I haven’t been able to find one like it. Thank you and Happy New Year 🎉
I've never been paid commission before so I feel like I'm not much help I'm sorry! But maybe budget off the lowest amount possible so you never overshoot your income!
I explained this in the video that I customized the colours myself to be better suited to my neutral colour palette! So the same spreadsheet but I changed the colours myself!
