I'm a surgical RN at a "teaching" hospital. I've seen a lot of residents come through over the last nine years. I must say, you seem so chill. Don't ever lose that enthusiasm! One word of advise, when a senior nurse say they're worried about a patient, listen!

It's awesome to see a positive perspective! Feels like a lot of medical content I get in my feed has been about the problems in medicine or doctors quitting. I truly believe what makes or breaks your experience are the people around you and how fun they decide to make the experience. It seems like you have that for sure. Currently Prepping for Step 1 and I'm aiming for Gen Surg so these videos are really exciting to watch! Hope you enjoyed the Birthday brother, looking forward to the next vid!

When you get those down times, get your STEP 3 going and get the exam done as soon as possible. I took this advice from a senior and it helped so much.

It is soo refreshing to see a video that shows the positive side of working as a resident doctor. My YT feed constantly tries to suggest me videos that only talk about how horrible residency is. I get that there's a lot of difficult things about the job, it just seems like negatives is all people talk about.

it is so crazy for me to see the differences from country to country, here the last 2 years of med school we have clinical rotations full time and during surgery we do what you do as a first year resident! younger students go too and they look and sometimes get to help too

I worked at UC Davis for several years. It was always so interesting seeing the residents. Some were much more confident than others. Would love to see you do a video on dealing with difficult staff MD’s. Some of the Docs seemed so mean or condescending to the Residents.

didn't know residency could be fun. guess it just shows how much things have changeed. we worked 120 to 140 hours a week, would have no time for video, not that my consultants at Mayo would have allowed it anyway. Keep enjoying

I'm loving the vlogs lately. I do have some questions. 1st one is do you like your Tesla? The 2nd one I have is the answer to question 8 in the vlog (D)? I remember getting my requirements for nursing school done, they wouldn't accept the TB skin test anymore. I had to get the QuantiFERON Gold test.

Not to compare but that really is leaving early from work. I’m in my second year of orthopedics residency in Mexico. In my first year I used to start at 4 too, but I finished at night. It was hell, so enjoy cause it seems cool!
