What I respect about her comment is that she held everyone responsible including the residents who live in her community. It must be stifling to be the lone voice that most hear but choose to ignore. There's your community manager. Someone who cares. She just needs a team of people to implement a plan to address and solve their concerns. You guys really can lift your own communities out of the perils they've been stomped into. It'll take some time but many citizens of Chicago are rooting for anyone who has a plan to stop the violence. Not just in the streets but also in the crook county courthouses, the Board of Education, Chicago Housing Authorities and all agencies who come in regular contact with this demographic of people. Chicago is grossly corrupt. CPD can only do so much. Thank you for all of your hard work CPD. We can't thank you enough. The cops who care which are most of them. Several bad apples are being weeded out and it's about time.

This isn't new and isn't a consequence of some recent event. This is the result of a long-term ongoing lack of teaching young people the value of human life. No amount of police or news crews reporting on crimes is going to change the fact that people will be evil unless someone teaches them another way to live.

Your argument is "we disarmed the law abiding citizens and the criminals still have guns so it's the neighbouring state that has a much lower crime rates fault." You have no logic. @Matumbo Turdface Enward Da Turd who or what is the police? Sense you do not seem to understand that the police is the enforcement of the political system. They are to enforce the piece on the streets. Their failure is therefore a failure of government. I am not saying this is right or wrong but as a matter of fact. You will notice that I did not say "protect and serve" because this is not what they do. They are there to keep the piece by arresting the people who violate the laws.
It's only the criminals that don't want the cops. Anyone that's raising a family and trying to thrive in these crime stricken communities appreciate "good" policing. No one should want bad cops on the street anywhere in this country.

Sadly its tough for the police to do much in Chicago any longer... the bulk of residents rather support the locals who are up to no-good. the people have to flush out the criminals, band together with other neighborhoods - do not let the gangs continue to divide and keep you down.

I'm so tired of people (the community) blaming other people(cops, alderman's, etc) for what's happening in the neighborhood!! The "people" (if you can call them that) have friends and family, I'm sure they're not alone in this world that can turn them in, to give justice to the other families that they have hurt. When good people in the communities stand up and say we're tired, I mean truly mean it, then the violence and guns and drugs and mostly what causes all of this the gangs..will stop!! Why...because it won't be tolerated...even if that means turning in your family or friends, just so you and children can live fully..enjoy the park, the front porch and even the backyard!! There are so many issues that happens in these communities and it’s a true fact that the police do not really patrol in Wenthworth Gardens only when it’s a ball game. When a ball game is being played there are a lot of under cover officers down there and uniformed cops

I've been to many White Sox games there at the ballpark on 35th. While mostly white fans, there are also a fair share of black and latino fans. I agree with alot of what she said, but that part was misleading.
