For me he became a nuisance when I tried to leave the prison area after obtaining the parking card. I tried to thin out the herd of zombies with the shotgun, which turned out to be less effective than a BB gun, I reached the corner and here he was: Mr. X himself. At that point my HP was at "Danger" so I just waited for the punch, because him showing up was just insult to injury and the fear was replaced with the Frolic - Killer Tracks ringing in my ears.

My very first playthrough on RE2 was on hardcore. And i thought that was the norm! WTF. What's the normal amount of shots? I'm going on a standard run later to unlock the infinite ammo pistol and smg.

On Standard for me, Zs regularly took anywhere between 1-8 headshots for a kill. Usually in the 5-8 range...

Also if he is in "patrol mode" (when he doesnt know where you are) he will eventually find his way towards you no matter what because he teleports. You can slow this process down if you walk instead of running and he will take much longer to find you.

You don't mention this at all, but he actually stops following you in the police station after you go back to the basement with both electrical components. After getting the one from the clock tower, you can run to the basement, and then come back up. He'll be gone and you'll be able to loot the rest of the station unburdened.

Should be noted that he reacts to gunshots and noise in general sorta like the alien from alien isolation. If you fire any gun even at maximum distance from him he will practically sprint to your location.

Another word of advice: *Go as long as you can without shooting him.* Until and unless you start standing up to him and actually deal significant damage to him, or shoot the hat off of his head, he will maintain a slow walk. Once you deal a significant amount of damage, or shoot his hat off, his walking speed picks up noticeably. He *loves* that hat. Let him keep it as long as he wants.

They did a great job with his footsteps. Just the right tempo and loudness to freak the player out. Sounds like death marching straight for you from down a dark corridor. Nice touch that you can hear him when he's on the floor above you or below you too.

I noticed if you know he is coming after you through a door and you know which way the door swings open you can hide behind that opened door to make a quick escape the moment he looks around. sometimes he completely loses you this way and you just have to stay silent until he is far enough away

I started saving like hell the moment he showed up. Every damn time I find something I need or finished doing what I need to do, I immediately go to one of those typewriters and start saving my progress before moving on. I just don’t wanna risk it, I don’t wanna end up dying and have to restart again. Nah you can hide. I got an S rank on standard hiding once or twice from him on my third playthrough. Now hardcore with less time might be a problem but I've seen so many speedrun guides on RU-vid already that have beaten this game in just over an hour on hardcore.

After the first encounter with the tyrant I escaped to the main hall and thought he would only remain on that side (helicopter side).. didn’t expect him to burst through the door as I was running back the way I came away from the lickers ( only thought there was one) literally scared me and i laughed because I thought I was going to make it out!

I read this somewhere but there are 2 Mr. X in the station one is endlessly patrolling the station and one appears in special places and in rare cases you can actually run into both and you know *x gon give it to ya twice*

Getting him down only stops him for a few moments, and is a drain on your ammo.. What you really need to do to hide from him is go into safe rooms, stars office, or the secret room (I think there are more I can't remember), wait for a couple minutes and he'll go into search mode, and head into other rooms. This will give you a pretty big head start on him and buy you enough time to make it to your destination, and back to a different room he can't enter.

To any new player If you walk, not run, he won’t pinpoint your location. This may be a bit inconvenient but it’s the best way to avoid him.

Honestly, just hearing Mr. X's footsteps nearby is enough to scare me. And when he shows up, well, he certainly knows how to make further exploration of the Police Station annoying, by just not leaving me alone.

Playing as Claire, after you get the silenced weapon he seems not to find you at all. I only saw him a couple times after I use a non silenced weapon. 👍☠️

Thank you sooo much for this video. I about gave up on the game entirely when I first met Mr. X and tried to give Martin a proper ending when I thought I gave the big dude the slip. Somehow he had appeared on the other side of the room, and seemingly dropped right on top of me without me hearing him due to the gunshots I was loosing into Martin’s then shockingly sturdy head. It was my first death in the game.

The more I play the more comfortable I get with dealing with him. The first time he showed up. My heart was going lol I used to play the original alot. But he never chased you everywhere like he does in this version.

I shite my pants when I first encountered him. I knew he was in the game at some point and I thought it was like with the original that he shows up at random and you just had to hide. But nope he stalks you the entire time. People hate it or love it, I love it it gives another layer of fear to an already fearsome game.

If you can avoid him up until you have to use the parking key. When you are asked to follow ada. Dont. You can go back and collect all the items unmolested by the tyrant. Then you can follow her afterwards

It's vice versa actually. I beat my campaign with claire first, then when i encountered him woth leon he seemed fast. But i was able to lose him and go on about what i needed to do.
