A series of clips showing how you can defeat Nemesis with using only the handgun and knife.
File 1 includes the first encounter, inside the RPD, outside the Newspaper Office, and in the alleyways downtown.
File 2 features the encounter before the cable-car, and within it, as well as the fight up on the clocktower, and below it shortly after bring infected with the virus.
File 3 includes Carlos' battle with Nemesis (using only the handgun), Jill's fight with him in the piano room, as well as the final showdown in the dead factory.
Check it out...
NB: This is unrelated to the other director of the handgun only challenge who posted his trailer on RU-vid.

A big thank you to the creator of this video! Though I have to note that the tactic for the second encounter is not flawless. When running back to the corner in the little office, sometimes Nemesis will stand at the entrance and shoot rockets. That sucks. A lot.

Fuse is at the electric station but you need the battery to operate the lift before it (where the green lickers are). The mixed oil comes from the garage with just the oil and the other oil must be mixed with it; That is in the umbrella office behind the fire where the dog jumps out before you get to the police station, but u need the hose to put it out and so need the wrench-which you get after you get to the tram.

I've been fighting Nemesis with the handgun since i was six years old and i have to say, the way it's shown here outside the station is so much harder than it needs to be.

haha this game takes me back. I remember when I first got it I was sick as hell and couldnt even play it. I remember that second nemesis fight where that broken glass sound happens, then you go downstairs and run past the window and nemesis busts through. That scared the shit outta me.

Nemesis only drops the items on hard mode :), also, really good tip, always run -left- past nemesis, he will almost never get you until you've knocked him down once that way.

Well man, great job, you show us why the handgun is actually the BEST GUN of the game. And, about the glitch, the second fight with Nemesis, it's not that easy (sometimes he will decide to use his bazooka inside the office, impossible to avoid =( )

Realy interesting,ive played this game a dozen times and never knew this. Why did you turn down the Eagle gun parts ? favorite of the seires is RE 2 , i like the way it can be played so many difrent ways .

Dodging is a feature of RE3 that the in-game guide dosen't explain very well. There are two dodges, a general and a 'shoulder push' which is for zombies only, as far as I know. The first is done by pressing either R1 or R2 (Can be either) about a half a second before something attacks you. The second is done by pressing R1+R2+Square+X when a zombie is almost upon you, which causes a shoulder push instead of a dodge and can clear the way. The second is much more unreliable than the first.

Yes, just push R1 and R2 the moment before an attack lands.If your aiming push the action button jus before the attack and she'll dodge.

the dodge maneuver...very useful... i've always had trouble with dodging regular enemies like zombies and dogs but can dodge nemesis well enough.. if you guys have any tips on dodging regular enemies please reply because i'm getting kinda tired of havin to shoot every zombie i can't run past because im in some narrow hallway or something thanks

have a good deal of time to take maybe 3-5 shots ((he will roar and most likley run to you depending on the distance)) another thing that will help u in defeating the nemesis is that when ur asked to fight him or run away, be sure to select fight him as quick as possible, because u will probably take even more shots b4 he approaches you, so do it fast ;)

so what were those items that nemmy always dropped i only got eagle part a anmd thats itthan i discarded it because i didnt know how to use it . do you have a clip about the eagles parts ...?or have you ever used those itmes that nemmy dropped thanks for the vid i could stand killing nemmy with only a handgun i will jsut get bored,but you show that it is possible for a true REfan to make the game a little bit more difficult to satify a gamer with a challenge so may i ask this is norm,hard mode?

@RyuzakiLawliet1 well did you knock him down twice? Are you playing on Hard or easy? If your playing on easy i dont think you get anything for beating him. Also( just in case you didnt) when u knock em down the first time you have to wait a bit then he gets up and you have to do it again. If you did that and your playing on hard than i guess its the game and/or the console messing up.

is there a way to use dodging nemesis attack?? i mean, is there a manual dodging??? certain attacks may be dodged, it depends if the enemy hits you with its 1st attacks, the 2nd attack automatically dodges...

like this... R1 = aim R1+X = fire R1+X+R2 = switch target R1+X+L2 = dodge **note that if L2 make the map came out... so try pressing L1 instead, i cant remember which one is for the map... hope this help ^_^"

with the pistol, i usually simply run past the nemesis' right side. i noticed that he always grabs and punches with his left arm. you could fire a couple of safe shots at the nemesis if you always run past directly past his right side.

I'm not criticising here, 'cause I can tell just by thinking of the title that this is some feat. But, have you ever attempted the game with just the knife? I once read a walkthrough on GameFAQs for just that (I'm a boring arse who finds that interesting), and was kinda hoping to see that here. This should be damn good in its stead though! =D

R1-dodge was a great tactic here(wide area) but u shouldnt rely on that much, it will corner u but it most help when he do double hit use on that time anyway, u doing great job!! i like the glitch one lol

5:00 the easisest way to beat him on the third encounter is to face him in the diner with carlos, he helps out alot an can take care of himself actually, and worst case scenario he makes a good meat shield while u attack.

just set up my ps1 and started playing this game again on hard... i suck at it, i find it hard to dodge. Is it possible to shove zombies out of the way instead of running around them?

In hard difficulty he always drops items when he's beaten. It starts of with 2 handgun parts Which combined give you the eagle handgun which is faster than the normal one. then shotgun parts if I'm not mistaken. Then after that I forgot what else :P I know one of the things he gives you is the box that can hold 3 first aid sprays which you start with on easy

To make enhanced ammo for handgun or shotgun you gotta mix I think about 8 of gun powder A or B in the same game. I think mixed gun powder like AA only counts as one powder when going towards enhanced ammo.

excellent video man but btw, when the nemesis falls down (the first time), aiming whatever weapon and shooting on him i think wont reduce anything of his life, because i tried that once in the marcinaries (resident evil 3 mini-game), when i played by mechail i found always that the nemesis (the first form) he always dies with 2 rockets ((ONLY,

@fakill911 then I'll tell you now (no critisism intended, seriously) there are two ways of dodging, you can either press the R button just before the enemy attacks, or with your weapon out, press the A button before the enemy attacks, I hope this helps you out :)

I'll explain. I often found that if I mashed the buttons *before* Nemmy picked Jill up from the ground she had less chance of breaking his grasp (thus resulting in dying). However if you wait until *after* Nemmy picks her up and then start mashing the buttons, she seems to break his grip more easily. This was particularly noticeable when Jill was on Yellow or Orange health.
