I really love the attention to detail Capcom gave this game. Plenty of callbacks to the original. Brings a tear to my eye.

During the Salazar fight, Salazar starts talking about scripts. That conversation is the exact same conversation they had over the radio in the original game.

Ashley is invulnerable when wearing the armour. And Leon in the 1930s gangster gear with the Typewriter is very out of place, but it's absolutely beautiful

RE4 remake is my GOTY so far

Resident Evil 4 was good, but Resident Evil 4 remake is really nostalgic and good. And I can't wait to play replay this game and find the Easter eggs.

I’m happy that you mention Leon’s use of the C.A.R. system in the game and referencing Vendetta as I like the idea that he started around RE4 and then progressively became the badass he is in Vendetta.

The Pinstripe Leon and Knight Ashley is also a callback from the original, as well as the special animation when Leon catches Ashley while she is wearing the armor

The killer 7 is also a reference to the pistol the terminator has in the first terminator

The first RE games that I've played 12 playthroughs with all difficulty modes and platinumed it. Thank you Capcom for putting so much effort in this game !!

The only issue I have with the intro bell skip as nice as it is, is that you can only do it in NG+ as neither the starting pistol nor shotgun have the range to hit the bell. And if you are in NG+ you already have infinite ammo or plenty of it in order to blitz the fight either way.

I love how for the throne sitting easter egg that the words appear like a typewriter from left to right, instead of popping up on the screen Its the small details, well done capcom

The Bingo line will always be legendary.

A note on the throne part.. when the text pops up, it reads like how it would read in the original, with the text appearing from left to right. This is the only time that happens in the game

People are picking on some very very far fetched Easter eggs, which is amazing, but all keep missing the really simple one .... Beginning of the first chapter you can see a dead wolf in a bear trap. That's where we rescued the wolf in the og. Also, remember that truck on fire at the end of village sequence? That truck is now just standing there with treasure in it (after Mendez fight). And also the "This time it has to be different" line as they make a big deal out of de-plagazation (while it was just a short stop in OG). Also, it could in general refer to entire remake as it is remake and has to be different.

Yeah, i was wondering what the Mafia reload would look like In one of Captain Eggcellent's Hidden details videos, he showed what happens when reload the Chicago Typewriter (the original name for the Chicago Sweeper I think) 3 or 4 and what happened was the same thing in the remake The only difference was, he did it outside and it was perfectly timed (if not caused by the actual reload) with a lightning strike as his hat was placed on his head

Should be mentioned the bell skip is in new game plus only. So unfortunately it can't be used for an S+ run.

Also, regarding Leon's starting handgun. It has the nickname "Silver Ghost," hence the SG in the name. I'm not sure where it was mentioned before, but it was based off the Samurai Edge in the original game. I believe that context isn't mentioned in classic RE4. Probably some kind of supplemental material.

I love how Capcom remixed the original game’s soundtracks, especially the music on the radio for the bonus round of the shooting range. Somehow I didn’t know that you can come back to the throne room during my first playthrough.

Don’t forget you can one shot Salazar with the rocket launcher. But in the old game you’d have to hold onto that big bastard for a good chunk of the castle segment

I’m so glad “Master of Unlocking” and “Jill Sandwich” has stood the test of time. We all know the RE1 dialogue is corny but I love it. Special call out to Barry saying weapons are especially good against living things.

There is another reference to speedrunners glitches on the game. If you fully upgraded your starting knife, the perk is to be 2x faster. Because in RE2 remake you could make the knife faster by unlocking fps on the pc version, even better since is Marvins knife it is 100% related to RE2 remake.

I didn’t see this in the video or the comments but in the original there is a laser room where leon must dodge the lasers to proceed and it’s an Easter egg to the first resident evil movie

Returning from classic RE4: Killer 7 was included in classic RE4 to promote the upcoming game. In the classic RE4, Leon practically falls to his knees catching her in the armor, with a similar animation to the remake when he stands back up. Additionally, it made her invincible and unable to be kidnapped apart from cutscenes. Chicago Sweeper used to be Chicago Typewriter (not sure why tht's changed). Handcannon is another returning aspect, but in classic, it had to be upgraded to max to get infinite ammo. Classic also has egg throwing, but any egg would act similarly to a stun grenade, minus the insta-kill on exposed plagas. They would however open the egged enemy to melee finishers. Honestly, the classic RE4 easteregg that I always knew about but have to often find videos to reference to others is when after killing Del Lago, you backtrack to that fist dock from the del lago easteregg, and go up the path a bit more. The Colmillos introduction cutscene there.

If you refuse to catch Ashley in the armor she'll jump down herself and bust her knees up a little bit. Also the one I'm shocked not many people have caught, the merchant says something like "my back is killing me, years haven't been kind to us", which is a direct reference to the OG game all those years ago, and how years haven't been kind to it, mixed with a joke about his back being sore because he has to carry enough weapons to take over a small country in his coat. Pretty cool nod to the original game.

I feel like theyre beating the Master of Unlocking reference over everyones heads now. It was neat when they did it in Revelations 2 but I think its been in every game since. Enjoying all the other stuff though!

Golden eggs could be used as weapons in the original. I chucked one at random in the original and the Ganado at the bottom was dead when I got there

i was surprised when you didnt mention the killer 7 being a nod to the 1st terminator movie. as the terminator movie showed a .45 longslide with laser sighting.

There's also a reference to Resident Evil Village when you have to retrieve the snakehead for that three-headed statue when you go into that specific room for that specific head when you first walk into the room there's a fireplace off to your right and if you look up there is the head of the school year or whatever animal skull that was that's the same one Ethan uses to basically get the mass off of that statue as a puzzle when you have to go into the boss room where you fight one of the daughters of Lady D

Hey, a guy who loves RE 4 a bit too much (have done all challenges in the remake and have played the original and now the remake at least once a week for around 8 years) Here are some easter eggs and references this video doesn’t mention: -If Leon shoots the water repeatedly while standing on the wooden pier near the boat before proceeding to fight Del Lago, he will surprise attack Leon and swallow him whole. -While playing Chapter 7, players will encounter places where Salazar will communicate through speakers. He will taunt them for wasting time saving the girl or degrading the players’ skills. Players can shoot the speakers to receive a different reaction from Salazar. He will begin to laugh relentlessly, as this will not affect Salazar, unlike in the original, where leon shoots the speaker during a cutscene, hurting Salazar’s ear. -When in Salazar’s castle, you arrive at a point where Leon has to jump across a chandelier to get to the other side of the room. When getting back to Ashley, she says: “Leon! Are you kidding me? Jumping across chandeliers? Seriously, who does that?” This is probably a reference to how many times you use chandeliers in the original game to get to places.

I found another Easter egg(I think ) , one of the rings you find in this game as a treasure looks very similar to the one the Duke wears in re8, the ring 8n re4 is red and gold, the dukes is purple and gold

You can also buy round sunglasses for Leon, which look like the glasses Leon The Professional wore in the movie.

I think I unlocked the hand canon by accident through the mercenaries because of scoring high enough on all maps super early, then after beating it I noticed the challenge to unlock the hand canon is an option despite already having it

The fact they made the ditman reference makes this game a legend

this is not only a great remake but one of the better third person action shooters ive ever played, up there with gears of war for me gameplay wise, especially since once you start figuring out all the strats like ducking grabs, quickturn, perfect parries, and also upgrading the knife to be a viable cqc weapon, the game becomes a john wick simulator

I actually found one that I don't think anyone realizes is in the game in the pit after Salazar throne room when Verdugo throws Leon into the pit

I just realized something about the Hunk mask/helmet you get after completing Professional mode. Is it maybe another nod to the film Leon The Professional? In the end of the film, Leon dons a gas mask and fatigues to sneak out of the building amongst the swat team.

Shooting the fish in the lake and the lake monster jumping out of the lake scared the pee out of me.
