Yeah, RE7 is my favorite Resident Evil game (might change because of the stiff competition of RE4 remake!!). This game isn't perfect, but it's a crazy good experience especially since I played it in VR. I think above all else, this game is great for people who never played an RE game before. This game is basically like the "combo meal" of what makes Resident Evil, well, Resident Evil. It's very scary and went back to its survival horror roots, it has some action, and it even has some more campy, cheesy moments of dialogue and I'm all for it. Like those old campy horror films that were humorous in some scenes but still very much scary, Resident Evil always had some cheesy dialogue throughout most of its games, and I think some of the calm, subtle moments in this game are what help to make the actual scary moments more scary. It's when you're trying to relax and realize what you went through in the save rooms or in quiet corners, knowing you have to press on and not knowing what comes next. Playing this game on Madhouse was so scary and so fun, especially with some things changing and you not being able to be 100% sure what to expect anymore. I honestly think some of the best horror comes from games or media that isn't necessarily 100% horror. This is definitely a horror game, but there's plenty of moments in between that aren't full-on scary, which makes the times you're being pursued or the sudden noises and changes even more scary. The coziness that you feel when you're safe contrasts so well with the feeling of dread that this game gives you the entire time. I think it's definitely safe to say it was scarier than RE8 because you can relate more easily to some sort of "zombie crack den that makes more monsters" than a mysterious European village with a castle overlooking it. Needless to say, this game will never stop making me feel things. I always love the musical score and I'll always enjoy the amazing lightning in a bottle that RE7 managed to capture. Since Silent Hills was unfortunately cancelled, I always wonder what could've been. Obviously RE7 is a far different type of horror compared to Silent Hill, but it definitely helped fill the void a little. Here's to hoping for more great horror games in the future. I'm particularly excited about RE4 Remake and Dead Space Remake, as well as System Shock remake. Here's to hoping we get more good classics or even new entries into dormant series. Silent Hill might've been canned, but I think it's only a matter of time before a revival. We've seen older franchises go much longer before having their IP used by some future company head. Game design gets better and at some point it has to start getting cheaper and more efficient, right? I'd even love to see a new SIREN game.
It falls flat once you get to the abandoned ship, but overall i love it, the music fills it's creepy atmosphere extremely well. Any of the music easily becomes nostalgic. It's the first re game I've ever played, and it introduced me to the rest of the games
Agreed. Resident Evil 8 wasn't as enjoyable, because while I loved the baker house of re7, re8's castle removed the "explore to progress" type of gameplay style, and having that removed upset me a bit in re8. The devs should've kept the good parts of re7 if they want people to enjoy re8, since it's a direct sequel
@@TheDisturbingPandaIn my opinion I like re 7 and 8 both also 8 have more action but the vibe and atmosphere of re7 is superior, that's why it gives nostalgia vives.
Hands-down one of the best Resident Evil titles and one of the best fps horror games I've ever played. This title definitely saved the Resident Evil franchise after the disaster that was Resident Evil 6.
While I had fun playing 2 and 3 remakes, resident evil 7 is one of favorites and memorable re game. Idk re2r just didn't hit it for me and re3r was disappointing.
One thing I like about this theme it resembles a calming of the aftermath of all the chaos with umbrella, wesker and any other bio terrorist in the past years thats dead and gone, but there is still last few remaining evil lurking out there in the darkness somewhere.
yep it is but sadly some people want to destroy a world or destroy country using Bio Virus because of some people misunderstanding him or her and the bsttle continued again
