I thought revelations 2 would take place after 6 due to the secret post credits scene in 6 that had claire at the end. Also, wheres ORC and the Outbreak games???

MasterGameplay Revelations 2 takes place before either before or during the start of Jakes campaign, if you remember Claire finds out that Chris is in China and tells whoever she's talking to to tell Piers to keep an eye on him, as for ORC and Outbreak 1 and 2 they really don't tie into the timeline ORC is basically a what if scenario and I can't find any info that suggests that Outbreak 1 and 2 is cannon to the series

there are haters? weird, I really enjoy this channel. Some nice fun elements to provide us with some entertainment and breathe some more life into what can be a very boring genre (game reviews). Also informative, Jirard and co do a great job in taking the time to go through the titular titles pro's and cons etc in depth, can't really ask for more. If you want dev level game breaking tech talk about a game, maybe go nerd out on channels where they do that instead.

I disagree wholeheartedly about the difficulty. This is not one of the easiest RE games in the series. This is in fact one of the toughest. The enemies you face are brutal, come at you in large numbers, and there just isn't enough ammo to kill them all. To make matters worse, this title requires more memorization than any other game in the series, and it's more unforgiving when you don't memorize the locations of items. This is the only game in the series l've never been able to beat because of the difficulty... and l've beaten RE2, gotten the best possible grade, and beat Hunk's scenario with the best possible grade. And that was a cakewalk compared to Code Veronica. In fact, I'd say the difficulty is one of the things that really brings this game down a notch.

for real. the difficulty is what keeps me from going back for more playthroughs. at least they made the knife a viable weapon. if you got your timing right you could slaughter zombies. but if you were off... then youd have a terrible time. and it was almost necessary with the constant lack of ammo and supplies

Even though I've beaten it more than once I agree that it's probably the most difficult RE game. Both enemy and -puzzle difficulty is really up there and it has several difficulty spikes. I'd say it's worth a playthrough though even if you're used to the newer games. Hell, I didn't play it until after the fourth one.

Well, apparently the role filled by Steve was actually going to BE Leon, but considering a rather tragic plot development that occurs halfway through the game, the developers realized that having this happen to Leon would have upset a lot of fans, so they created Steve in his place. Steve's model in the Dreamcast version actually bears a vague resemblance to Leon's original model in certain ways.

Code Veronica X was my sister's and I's first Resident Evil game. I still have it in my drawer, and I remember being 5 and watching my older sisters playing the game.

Steve legitimately KILLS this game. There's a cutscene where, whilst operating a crane, he starts looking at Claires ass, and bursts a gas line as a result! 5 minutes is now dedicated to repairing the pipe so they don't suffocate. Not to mention that this allows Alfred to get the drop on Claire. He actively impairs the story from beginning to end.

RE4-RE6 are great games, but poor Resident Evil games; I prefer the mystery, story, tank controls, fixed camera angles of the older games as that just clicks so much, with me. I'm going into RE7 with an open mind, as I enjoyed the demo, but I feel like the older games aged better than the more recent ones. Like I said: fun games to play, but not good RE games.

Zero has issues without a doubt, but it honestly is not a bad game, it had some really damn good mechanics, Caddicarus and Jordan Underneath did a review about it that brings up the various things that work and does not work. Strangely enough, I actually rate 4 below zero, 4 to me has very little replay value, it is a great game but it is honestly boring to replay it. Again, great game, just not fun to replay.

That One Video Gamer You see Jirard, you're just not funny. Weren't the 650,000 subs and videos with hundreds of thousands of views each enough to clue you in on how unfunny you are and how few people click with your sense of humor? I mean look at this video's ratings as of this comment. It has almost 60 DISLIKES to over 2k likes. Clearly you're slipping man. The handful of angsty entitled commenters aren't wrong. They aren't ever wrong. You should stop trying to make your work entertaining and just have a text crawl of your script with the jokes edited out. THEN those losers will be happy and your channel will enter a new era of prosperity and popularity. That's how youtube works man. Is there really that much hate? Scrolled throughed the comments and only found 4 main comments being a bit spiteful One complaining about the opening, two calling you big and the fourth being someone shouting a request. The opening wasn´t my cup of tea, neither the 3d dot games opening, felt like an unnecessary skit that was´nt super funny, but hey if you like doing them keep it up. It´s not like they bother me, but if you feel like saving time on production you can always remove them. The two calling you bigger than usual could be because of you not having your beard and also the angle of the camera and your standing position. You´re closer to the camera in this video compared to the rest. Fourth is just a person requestion something, you always have these guys on your videos. In other words keep up the good work, ignore hate comments, enjoy the good comments and take in the comments with valid criticism

I played the Ps2 port of this game and immediately fell in love with it. Even back then I knew that it didn't feel like a spin off so I'm not surprised it was intended to be the RE:2 sequel.

It was never meant to be an RE2 sequel: the story arc follows RE2 but it was not meant to be developed. It was developed as an apology for not porting RE2 to the Saturn. The OG 3 was actually supposed revolve around Hunk.

That's kind of odd to me though, because I played the X version (the Gamecube version to be precise) Though I might have cranked the brightness on my TV in order to play it. I can't really remember to be sure.

The brightness are messed up for sure. I played the game no a month ago on the ps2, and i have to ajust the brightness on the tv from "full" or "high" to "limited" or "low". He probably has his tv brightness set to hdmi input, wich uses "full" black range

Man, when this game first came out on the Dreamcast it looked mind blowing. Completed it in no time. Man...the poor Dreamcast, an epic console with fantastic software that was let down by gamers. Great episode btw the body being dragged away by you in the intro was pretty messed up LOL.

Dude, it started with RE2. And honestly, though unintentionally, with RE1. RE6 wasn't a bad game because it was actiony, it was a bad game because it was a forgettable focus group mess. RE7 and RE2make are plenty actiony.

@@josephikrakowskiwithflextape Yeah, after replaying it recently I'm kinda eating my words there. Truth is I hadn't played it since 2012, so... Honestly, it's not any more actiony than RE4 and 5, which are great games. Leon's campaign is fantastic, as is Jake's. Ada's is okay, and only Chris' is really forgettable. Too CoD mixed with Gears of War. Ironically I find playing as Piers in that story more enjoyable. And it's better than RE0. Zero just plain sucks IMO.

I'm sorry, I loved Steve. The development they put towards him was a major appeal of the game to me (alongside with everything else), I did care about him, and I'm still bitter that they killed him at the end. I wanted him and Claire to escape together like they promised! There's no denying he was equal parts whiney and annoying at the beginning, but there was more to him than that, and he mellowed out by the end of the game. I put a lot of the blame regarding to his unpopularity to his voice actor (or how his VA was directed, I don't know which). Honestly, he's one of the few companions I actually gave a shit about in the whole series. And they killed him. :C

I've NO IDEA how he thought this game was easy. Even more impressed at the A rank. Unless the remastered versions are easier, I thought this was one of the hardest REs (PS2 version). And I'm a huge RE fan who has played most of them (even some spinoffs).

For real. He played with a guide, which likely warned him about the many game breaking mechanics that have you unexpectedly fighting a boss with no option to deposit your items for Chris to use right after, or not having nearly enough ammo to kill some bosses.

Hey, 5 years late but after the original remake, the re2 remake, and the re3 remake, i think we’ll get to enjoy a new re cv soon. Im waiting for re outbreak remakes with online multiplayer. Unfortunately, after 2 decades of being madly in love with jill, rebecca, claire, and ada…code veronica will follow the nemesis remake by hitting claire with an ugly stick and making her butch and angry. 😒

This is my first completionist vid and I'm impressed! This was one of my favorite and first RE games and it's truly the underdog of the series!! After RE2, I demanded a Dreamcast for Christmas to play CV, it just looked better and Nemesis seemed tooo scary and ugly for my baby brain lol

I thought code veronica was a good follow up to re3 and continued on with the story. Re5 on went way to far on action then survival horror

Nemesis added so many gameplay tweaks that calling it "DLC for re2" is an insult. Auto-climb stairs? Nemesis did it first. 180° quick turn? Nemesis. Dual Shock? Nemesis was the first to have it as a default setting. It didn't need a "Dual Shock edition" a year after release. I like Code Veronica, but Nemesis has merit beyond "RE2, but more."

Don't forget about the dodging system, the ammo crafting stuff, and the auto aim button (The one where it automatically aims at explosive barrels in the environment).

You’re definitely better gamer that most but Code Veronica is considered one of the hardest RE games. It’s also my favourite one. Not because of the difficulty but because of the location and the plot. I have no clue what happened in RE 4, 5 or 6 but CV plot is self contained and compelling.

"Weapon Crazy" is the probably the achievement I'm most proud of unlocking. It requires you to get an A ranking (no saves, no retries, no first aid sprays, complete under 4 hours & 30 min)

I am just going to say it, Steve isn't that annoying. I actually liked his character quite a bit, he has a tragic backstory that gives him a good reason not to trust others, he makes mistakes, but I attribute that to his age, and being out of the social loop for a while, but he is pretty competent when it comes to gun safety, and I am curious where he learned to fly a plane.

This game is the hardest old style game, not the easiest. Also you NEVER have enough items/ammo. Rooms constantly re spawn. So yeah, Jirard got everything backwards

herron321 You're both right. It largely depends on how gun happy you are, but the knife is there for the tough spots. It's the strongest version in the entire series. Abuse the downward slash!

It's difficult because there wasn't difficulty option, the game has a standart difficulty. But of course when you learn the game it gets easier. Back then I wasn't hardcore RE fan, I beat the previous games in easy difficulty then this game punished me brutally but taught me how to play a Resident Evil game and made me fan of the series.

I appreciate you Jirard, but you set yourself up for abuse when you ask for negative feedback as well. I also don't really think Comedy is your Strong Suit, you Cleary put in a lot of effort and that's admirable, though I think your trying too hard on the comedy. I think it should more naturally and do what you think is normally funny. Like I said everything you do is commendable and great. Just focus more on the review ok? If you read this I hope you take things to heart.

Jigsaw B An actual reply... Save the explosive bolts for the Tyrant on the plane. Make sure to leave the fire extinguisher in the item box, or no Magnum for Chris. Make sure to leave the Assault Rifle for him as well, as he can get more ammo. The rest is mostly knowing the puzzles and some luck, like hoping Nosferatu doesn't knock you off the platform. Also, the "between discs" save after that boss is free. Take advantage of it, as doesn't affect ranking, which is something I wish I knew when I did it originally on the Dreamcast version...

+Jigsaw B if you REALLY want to beat the game and not worry about you're health, there is an infinite green herb glitch you can do at the start of you're playthrough and that should help you A LOT in getting that A run. (GOOGLE the glitch if you want a more detailed guide.)

From what I've seen, the majority of these people aren't even fans of the originals; they just like the newer games for having a greater focus on action. So in that respect, I'm not sure if I would really call those people _Resident Evil_ fans when they're really just action video game fans.

Resident Evil 4 will stand the test of time because of its a game that is truly the total package, Re5 is a big downgrade but even that game is enjoyable with co op, Resident Evil 6 however is not really fun or interesting, I don't plan on ever playing RE7, so I'll be coming back to the series with RE2 remake. Resident Evil code Veronica was my second favorite Resident Evil, I greatly enjoyed playing it.

I fully agree about the battle game. Recently replayed the game and I played that mode as Chris mostly, both Claire’s, and even Wesker(to no avail). But not once as Steve. I’ll probably get to playing as him soon. But his load out sucks as much as his voice.

This is a mainline title its canonically 4th in the series and during development was ment to be the sequl to 2 and 3 was to be the spin-off and according to interviews at the time sony res games were to be numbers and nintendo and sega were given sub title names
