There could be a lot of good reasons for this that the vid didn’t show. She may have admitted to being under the influence when he told her. She could have a prior record of charges that bring into question her credibility and integrity. She could have asked for immunity on those charges. She could have changed her story enough that it didn’t seem credible, and we’re just seeing the one they chose to air. So many things beyond just looking at one factor to consider with decisions like that. Something seemingly small could result in a hung jury or even innocence so they have to weigh those factors when choosing who is credible.

@finalvictoryofficial Because they say dumb crap like “if you take away the revenge motive they have nothing”. Why would we do that? Why would a jury do that? It’s a key element in a case. Defense attorneys are very good at saying things that sound good but don’t make any damn sense.

I was fascinated by his family, they were so very ordinary and respectable - there are millions of hard working, loving parents like them who want the best for their kids. How did their eldest child turn out to be so dysfunctional? Garcia's behaviour was disturbing from his very first job, and got him fired from both that and his second medical position. As the lady doctor recalled - he was a bad guy, and a bad employee. I was shocked at the report of his inappropriate, disrespectful behaviour toward a dead body. And this is a man who aspires to work with the public as a doctor, a position of trust around vulnerable patients. He was clearly totally unsuited to the career he chose! Did his parents fail to teach him about respect for other people, and boundaries for acceptable behaviour? Was he ever told 'No' in his formative years, and put in his place if he overstepped the mark with other people? This is generally how we are successfully socialised, and develop into decent human beings who live good lives. No mention of any girlfriends - Garcia was an oddball and I would love some clues on how he turned out that way. The 'prank' with the dead body, and his inappropriate conduct around work colleagues makes me suspect some kind of autism. That however does not explain his subsequent killings - obviously most autistic people are not murderers.

Not really. The cops had a prime suspect who was the culprit and they had the testimony of a suspicious man in a grey Honda SUV. All they had to do was to do what they did more than 5 years later: inquire about the car of the prime suspect. If they did that, they would have confirmed the prime suspect was on the crime scene. They would have arrested him and the second couple would not have been killed.

@msf8297 Well, he is either inherently evil or he is a product of his upbringing. It is very common for parents to raise children differently. Based on his lack of ability to accept the consequences for his actions and his families' continued denial of what he has done, one can easily ascertain that they didn't hold him accountable early in life. No matter what, they failed to raise him right in some way, seeing as he killed 4 people, one of which was a child.

You can tell what kind of mother she was by the interview when she said she doesn't know if he killed those people. That mother knows what her son did and she has no empathy for the people who lost their lives

Watch the last 5 minutes of this segment, and tell me that justice doesn't have redemptive qualities. The pure emotion that took over seasoned detectives and D.A.'s. If you immediately forgive, you have completely destroyed the value of human lives, and it is truly wicked and evil in its execution.

Most typically, these spoiled momma's boys just make horrible husbands. In this unique case, however, being as coddled also gifted him with a very bad character (which, as you wrote, included no accountability). To my observation, it occurs in certain cultures, such as Italians, Latin, etc. God help the women who marry these types of men, 🙁

I’ve read/watched several cases where the mom actually turns her son in to the police, going _far_ beyond just acknowledging her son’s guilt, but helping the victim get justice. I’ve read/watched _numerous_ cases where the murderer’s parents don’t for one second deny their child’s guilt. That said, denial is certainly a very powerful and reflexive coping mechanism that the human mind often employs to protect itself from overwhelming pain.
