The moral of this crazy story: if you meet a woman and her ex-husband died from a "freak accident" - run for your life!

That judge is a piece of work. He had his little grandstand moment before his retirement.

A good lawyer knows the law, but a great lawyer knows the judge!

This woman is a killer. Three men are prime examples of that. Two are dead and one survived.

When the judge talks like the defense lawyer, it is time to leave the court room.

I had no idea a judge could step in and make the decision and totally disregard the jury! I do not like that this judge did that.

That judge was on a power trip. No way did that man commit suicide with 3 shots! After second shot he was dead- defense does not dispute that. Craziness.

What did Raynella know about this judge? This was a well connected woman who knew all the important legal players in the county, so it’s not unreasonable to think she would have known a few dirty little secrets. And given her character, it seems obvious she’d use them.

Somebody on the defense had something to hold over the judge’s head bc the way he reacted and acquitted her so quickly, it’s something behind it.

I have to say that with all its bizarre twists and turns, the presentation of this case by 48 Hours might be their best work yet. Well done, 48 Hours!

Hope the family filed a civil suit against her. That way all her past comes to light!

She will stand before the ultimate Judge one day.

The more the judge explains his decision, the more clear it is that it is a complete joke.

The biggest piece of evidence is the fact that he didn’t use his dominant hand! That’s ridiculous, you just pick things up with your dominant hand without thinking. Rookie mistake.

That judge is absolutely horrifying. Despicable. There should be an avenue for appeal, always.

That judge is sweating profusely in that interview, literally has drops falling down his face. Interesting.

If they had already called a jury, it's wrong for a judge to interfere and call the verdict, period.

The judge needs to be jailed.

This stage show wasn't just about a black widow that needed to do some serious prison time, it was also about a judge that should have seen the inside of a jail cell himself.

I fear for whomever comes across that corrupt judge. He definitely was wrong & lets just hope the black widow doesn't strike again killing yet another husband!

Three shot suicide with weak hand...the serial killer got off scott free.

It's not easy to pull the trigger on a revolver unless it is cocked. The third shot would've been impossible by the deceased with a bullet in the brain.

Good grief: a man who doesn’t like guns and is right-handed, shoots himself with a gun - three times - using his LEFT hand? And he’s blind in one eye - the left eye?!? And the timing of the out-of-the-ordinary call to his daughter claiming he didn’t eat the food she left for him? How could she have known that? The US justice system is so twisted and broken it’s beyond pathetic.

She’s guilty for sure. PERIOD. Who knows the judge may become the third husband.

I’ll never ever understand how juries are expected to make an “informed decision” when they’re not given all the information... That now ALL of her husbands have died under suspicious circumstances is most certainly relevant to this case. But the jury isn’t allowed to know about the others, that’s insane.

The judge was within his purview in granting the defenses motion and I believe he was correct in so doing. The judge did not “steal” anything! Moreover, judging by the comments of those jurors I am extremely relieved they were not able to cast their judgment on the defendant. Their wholly conclusory analysis was hopelessly flawed overly simplified and erroneous.

Whatever the real reason for the judges decision, EVERY court decision at that level should be appealable. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

I liked it when Erin accused the judge of granting motion to dismiss just to "end the case", and the judge simply said "yes, that's exactly why I did it"

See what a judge can do? Imagine the injustice that has and will continue with those leches in the Supreme Court.

Despite murderers saying their significant other committed suicide while laying down, appearing to just be sleeping in their own bed....I have never seen it be proven of anyone committing suicide with a gun whilst laying down as tho they were simply sleeping like any other night. On their stomachs or back. It just seems like a weird way to be positioned when about to unalive yourself. I don't think that person will be so relaxed and laying down, in any way, if using a gun to the temple.

Her 911 call sounded Fake ASF.

This judge is an insult to jurisprudence ..

The motive with both of the husbands is she didn’t want to care for them through their illnesses.

No one wants to believe their loved one was capable of suicide. I definitely have doubts about her innocence but with the little snippets presented here, there was definitely reasonable doubt.

Reading the comments where the majority acting like jackals, would just simply jail a person from their armchairs, I'm glad the judge was rational. He did what was needed to be done in a case without enough evidence.

The judge says she has an alibi but he also says they couldn't prove time of death. So he contradicts himself.

There is one thing in this case that could proof either way and undeniable. I couldn’t believe after watching the whole show that no one tested the gun or the bullets for fingerprints. That should have been done first by the police.

If you had ANY question about the UNCONSTITUTIONAL power of judges, rhis shoul lay it to rest. The judge should be jailed.

That was shocking. I didnt expect the "judge" to be the judge of what she did. Thats what the jury is supposed to be for. But if the jury should be allowed to have all the information about the case.. NO evidence to defend or condemn the person on trial should be withheld ever. And far too many defendants have had evidence to exonerate them withheld from the trial .

Somebody needs to check if there are any bodies in her work as a nurse.

If i was one of those men family member, i would've already had her depart from this world.

Having dealt with a close family member that was dealing with the same thing as her second husband, I do see where the defenses explanation is very plausible with the gun shots. If you don't have experience with mental health/brain diseases/death with them and neurological problems you wouldn't understand it. It was my dad and I saw not only his irritation dealing with it but other people in the facility he was getting help at. I heard several times what they said as well as my dad. "I'm useless, why am I even here." I would assure dad we needed him and give him examples. I also dealt with PTSD from WWII. Extremities (head, arms, hands, legs, feet) just spasm or move on their own. I myself have neurological problems with my hand. It will spasm and double do whatever I am doing. It's slight and just an aggravation for now. Like typing this I have to proof read and correct what my fingers double type and if I use the mouse my middle finger will spasm and click the mouse button. Sometimes the mouse flies to a different area altogether. My wrist will just have a weird flick to the right once in a while. Thankfully, the doctor does know why but I won't have the surgery until it gets worse. Other than that I would have to hear the entire case to base an opinion. I am in middle Tennessee and we didn't hear much about this case back then. I saw no hard evidence, nothing that showed beyond a shadow of a doubt that she did it. Just circumstantial that might implicate her guilt, but it certainly doesn't prove her guilty.

Well, when that woman ends up with another dead husband, don't be surprised.

Appalling! That woman is a killer.

Those jurors explaining why they'd vote guilty prove EXACTLY why everyone should be terrified to have your life in their hands. One of them says "guilty" because he disagrees with PROVEN MEDICAL SCIENCE. The other says "guilty" because the lawyer acted out a dumb speech. Pathetic. Thank god they didn't get to vote.

CORRUPT JUDGE IN A CORRUPT STATE

That judge had NO RIGHT to dismiss the case. The majority of judges have never had their own lives at stake and in the hands of someone with power. I wish they AND the majority of these defense attorneys, (who full-well know their clients are GUILTY), get a big dose of their hypocrisy and lies. They all make me sick and angry.

I paused the video right before that when they said she wasn’t going to testify to give my personal commentary … basically saying, we should always use our voice to defend ourselves…. 30 seconds later the backstory came . Criminal women more often get away with their crimes. Still, they cry they are badly treated!

The judge did the right thing, and frankly all the comments here saying otherwise just prove his point, as do the comments of the jurors. Obviously jurors get to weigh the case any way they wish, but their "reasoning" was entirely emotion-driven. Raynella clearly is not well-liked around those parts for whatever reason. They'd already had verdict against her thrown out for misconduct by a judge, and this judge decided to put a button on this on his way out the door. That is his prerogative. The state did not come close to meeting the burden of proof in this case. The state's case pretty much amounted to "well it's _possible_ she did it". The ME ruled "homicide" within 24 hours- which is unbelievably fast- because she hadn't bothered to review his medical records. But the state couldn't pin down a time of death nor prove Raynella was in the room when it happened. She didn't have any gunshot residue on her, nor were her fingerprints on the gun or any of the bullets! Not good enough. I had to laugh with her daughter at the end saying to the press "Y'all didn't care about her before, don't be bothering her now" 😂

Who in the world would need to shoot 3 times to hit himself once ? 👀👀👀 She is well known by the police so this whole trial was one big joke, except the prosecutor who did an excellent job.
