Since Ethan has “mold” or the fungus from RE 7, he can literally put his limbs back together, so he is the first character to have a reason for not dying from shit that’s thrown at him right away

Mia didn't react to the bullet shot because the mould from RE7 actually leaves sequels and other secondary effects, and since she was exposed longer than Ethan... go figure her pain tollerance and regen is crazy
Ethan is built so different because he's got an experimental substance in him called the mold. It basically gives him super human qualities eg. Regeneration
ethan is extremly sturdy because he has something similar to the T-Virus (what albert wesker had) but cant use any super human powers. so hes perfectly fine even getting his torso halved. thats also why his wife survived so many bullets.
21:40 *flashes back to Resident Evil 7 where he had his left hand slashed up and then ran through with a knife, a screwdriver stabbed through that same knife wound hard enough to pin that hand to a wall, Ethan pulling out that screwdriver with his right hand only to immediately get that left hand mutilated and cut off with a chainsaw, and then having to fight and kill mutated evil Mia while bleeding out and suffering from that pain, all in the first 30 minutes of the game*
Little spoiler from re7 here but it's to explain why Ethan can get his hand cut off and can just reattach it later like it's nothing. Ethan was actually killed in re7 upon entering the crazy family's house in pursuit of Mia. For some reason after that Ethan's body became a mold and is now basically a dead person walking the earth. Mia was probably still infected too even after she got the antidote. Ethan himself probably forgot this whole revelation or pushed it out of his mind or even thought that revelation was a lucid dream. Which is why he thinks his family is a "normal" family and that Mia and him are just your run off the mill humans, when in actuality Ethan is a living corpse and Mia probably is/was still infected even after she got the antidote.
I'm pretty sure that if I recorded myself playing this game, viewers would only hear a lot of screams and hilarious, "Okay, I'm gonna need a 5 minute break." You'd probably even hear my heart pounding. What I wanna see is Afro vs the mutant baby. That would be fabulous to watch. My husband was even laughing at me during that part. I took like 50 "Imma need that 5 minute break again.", well, until hubby scared me and said "JUST GO!"
