Re1 remake is not only the best Resident Evil game but probably the best gaming experience I've ever had, and I played this after Re4. I was so immersed, that this tune actually entered my dreams.
Hearing this makes me want to cry because Resident Evil will never be the same. I can't remember the last time I felt that survival horror when I'm low on ammo walking through a creepy mansion... :,( All those classic puzzles, legit zombies, save rooms... God I miss it all. RE The classics :)
This is probably the best theme of all RE games so far! I used to stay in the safe rooms for HOURS(literally) just to enjoy it! It's so relaxing yet so intense and melancholic,at the same time, that it's brilliant! I think it deserves to be called "a classic masterpiece"...
so silent...so lonely...a nightmare...but this piece illustrates a moment of peace and yet...depression in our minds. Music can really help paint the picture.
The music is so Haunting... yet it brings you peace of mind when that door opens, knowing there's an item box and a typewriter somewhere in the room...
This is the music that left an impact on me years ago. Such a brilliant game knowing there was so much evil to destroy, but for this one moment in the save room, you were safe from all the world. Amazing music to the composer and thanks for creating it!
Amen brother... Survival horror has been lost. It really brings a tear to my eye when I really sit and think about what amazing games we had. It's as if Capcom has lost touch with its real Resident Evil Fans. But at least all of us can keep the classics alive with our memories.
Definitely the best remake of a game ever. Even though there hasn't been that many remakes. This game really needed it and it's amazing. I also loved the new additions - the crimson head zombies and the sharks in this one are waaay bigger and there's a monster shark that scared the shat outta me.
This was like heaven. Every single time I was being chased by one of those damn crimson heads, this music just relaxed every single muscle of my body. But still, I couldn't stay there forever. Man this is the best resident evil game (in my opinion).
I always read the files while in the save rooms. It gives that peaceful but eerie feeling. It made the readings more disturbing (especially the one with the guy going "itchy! tasty!" over dog food and the one where George Trevor meets his fate).
God,I remember staying inside the safe rooms just to listen to this...It is so depressing yet so relaxing and awesome... It is so...I can't understand why,but this is one of my best OST songs ever!
i luv the safe haven songs of resident evil....they are sooooo soothing....i like all of them but this one and resident evil zero's are my favorite....great job....
your in the save room.. a bright lamp shines on, relaxing your nerves while you gain your wits, clutching ever so tightly to your shotgun, hearing zombies on the other side.. those are the impressions i got from this room.
I just bought Resident Evil 0, and I am now playing it on the Wii. I have to say, I am so glad that I purchased this game, it is now an instant fave in my opinion. GO CAPCOM! ^^
@TheHonkeytonkMonkey agree with you , the whole atmosphere of the mansion in the forest , stunning graphics and sure the zombies are so realistic , amazing legend that will remain in the videogame history .
this is by far my favorite music track in the RE series bar none. it has a slightly mellow and eerie feeling about it. it is what it is, a safe haven from the horrors that lurk outside the door
I thought this music was perfect. It has that feeling of being safe for now, but that you'll soon have to take steps into uncertain and dangerous territory.
Yeah. Everyone always said that Amnesia was the SCARIEST GAME EVAR and I played for a few hours, not one single scare. Now, with the RE1 REmake, one of my favorite games, it is constant tension, constant scares that really get to your nerves. Seeing Lisa Trevor was scary as fuck, crimson heads messed with your head, and getting to the save rooms was the biggest breath of relief ever.
Wish granted, the main creator of the old RE games and RE4 is now working in a new company and he is working on a new true survivor horror title. Found this on the Gametrailers website few days ago and the artwork is pretty promiseing to. Finaly a new horror game after so many years of disapointment.
been a total fan of resident evil from the begining, but this has to b the definitive piece of music from all 4(soon 2 b 5)episodes.this music will allways mean safety 2 me.
this is the only song that i wanna hear when im scared out in the game, gives you the feeling that those monsters cant do anything to you......but you will have to come out one day....
Resident Evil 4 was a change that was absolutely necessary after 28 days later, they said. Slow zombies were a thing of the past, they said, fast action less pacing was the future, they said...
It was the final entry in the diary of one of the workers at the mansion that'd been infected. If you read through each entry in the diary you find out about his infection spreading and his mind becoming more and more sketchy and zombie-like.
ahh...this music lets you know you're safe....but then you'll have to find the courage to leave and that is hard to do knowing there is either crimson heads or hunters waiting for you o.o
Love the save room music in all the games. They always have that eerie but also calming quality about them. Giving a moment of respite while still keeping you on your toes and never fully eliminating the tension. It basically says, "You're safe, but not for long..." Where is that kind of tension or atmosphere in RE5 and RE6? Screw quick time events and explosive set pieces. I want REAL Resident Evil again!
No way. The whole GAME is creepy. It's an unsettling, eerie song that makes you feel like although things are 'stable' for now, you KNOW that it's not going to last very long and everything is going to suck.
Well that is what happens when you treat your best employees like shit and they end up leaving. Mikami, Kamiya and the guys that are now at Platinum Games were the reason these games were so good.
If Resident evil realized that they need to make their R.E games as they initially did, with all the power that these consoles have, I wonder how scary and how difficult it would be since the past horror games limited in how and where you can shoot an enemy.
The RE music is still as good as ever, that was never the problem, it was the shift to a more action genre.. :( what was great about the old ones is that the music was great as well as the atmosphere so you could focus on how creepy everything was, with the music enhancing it. with the newer ones not only is the music more action oriented, but there is so much hectic shit going on (majini/ganados coming at you from everywhere) you don't even have time to appreciate the music anymore sad really..
I remember i play R.E.Remake when i was younger..i very brave at this game and this is great game of R.E.Remake EVER! XD p.s I like the Safe Haven theme is make me relaxation to get away the horror..anyway such a awesome theme and game ever there the best of the best :)
I honestly always found even this safe room music kind of creepy, the higher tones sound very ominous the way they're played, kind of like wind going through a window... Just an unsettling song for me.
@BraveSnake33 in the original, there are no crimson heads, there are fewer areas, there's no mention of George Trevor, most of the puzzles are different, you go straight from the catacombs to the lab without backtracking, the lockpick completely replaces the sword key for Jill, in Chris's game you can find Rebecca in the Serum room, and whether or not Barry lives is decided by several choices instead of one. the REmake also adds small changes to trip up players of the original.
@shadowsoulsefer fair enough^^ the biggest let down of five was that they promised you hordes and fear and the horder were too small and the fear was too absent.
Always loved this theme whenever I watched my friend play this back in the day. Almost sounds like something you'd hear in a Silent Hill game. Cheers to the early 2000's before all these W.O.W. games that turn you into a person with no life, and the gimmicks of HD GRAPHICS and Motion controls came to ruin games! Most games now suck!!!
i just LOVE Resident Evil Soundtrack! especially the "save room themes" and if you noticed as newer the games are getting , the whole character through the songs is disappearing ! Can't compare with RE2 Theme ;)
There is an Easter Egg in RE5 Lost in Nightmares, in the beginning of the game go to the door you came in the house through and press X she will say something like "I'm not leaving till I have finished the mission" press X again, she will say the same, BUT NEXT TIME YOU PRESS THE GAME CHANGS TO THE ORIGINAL RE VIEW!
