These tracks remind me of my grandfather. He had a study with an old typewriter and WWII antiques that looked exactly like a save room. I can't remember how many times I typed up my name, location and date to "save" my progress.

I remember when my son was first born - he would stay awake all night until I had the idea of trying some relaxing music to make him sleep. Every save room theme from this franchise was the first thing I thought of and lo and behold it worked!! He would be asleep by the time the RE2 save room theme played. These songs will remain with me until the day I die.

RE1/Remake: A simple, yet disturbing and mysterious melody. You question whether or not you are safe in this "safe" room. RE2: This one assures you that you're safe in the room, but simultaneously reminds you that you can't stay there forever; you have to press on. RE3: A constant reminder that the Nemesis is outside, waiting for you to leave your sanctuary. RE:CV: A relaxing and soothing melody that makes you never want to leave the safe room, even though you must move forward. RE0: A beautiful, yet sorrowful song that shows how beautiful this place once was, before it turned into hell. RE4: Peaceful, yet disturbing tune that comforts you all the same.

This is what Resident Evil 7 needs, a save room with it's own theme to give the player the feeling of relaxation and tranquility before pressing on to face the terror.

RE3 Save Room still creeps me the fuck out to this day. Easily the scariest one. Along with the fact that some Save Rooms from RE3 aren't permanent and could stop being a Save Room at a given time.

There's something eerily beautiful about the Original Resident Evil save room music.

RE1: light, a bit eerie, but peaceful overall. "You'll be alright here." RE2: despair is subtly showing up. "You won't be safe forever." RE3: sorrow. Bleakness. No hope. "Everything is lost; run." CV: "Oh Steve, take me now."

The RE2 save room theme has the perfect amount of uneasiness in it. It encapsulates a desperate sense of wanting safety from this nightmare, but deep down knowing you never will be.

Man all the original resident evil themes all the way up to 5 have amazing save themes. They bring me back to such a good time in my childhood

I LOVE the clean transition between RE1 and RE1:R, the more complex instrumentation almost makes it sounds like the melody is progressing, getting more intimate and soothing

to my opinion, re3 has the best save room OST it sounds like a pause in a desparate situation and you must keep going. I think Nemesis had a great influent on this track

Although fairly far off from being my favourite game in the series, CODE: Veronica quite simply has the best save room music in the series. That theme perfectly encapsulates what a save room is and the feeling of safety you get from being in one.

Oh Capcom, when will you learn. Save Rooms & atmosphere over hoards and action. Backwards is sometimes forwards.

Save room music in RE games was always so haunting. Which is funny because it keeps you on edge even in supposed SAFE rooms.

Back in the day it was sheer horror to get to the next save room in order to save your game or your game would be lost and you would have to endure the horror your just went through again. Nowadays you can save at any point which kind of takes away the thrill.

I've never even played Resident Evil but this is beautiful. Makes me wanna give it a try!

I hope I don't sound too weird when I say, every time I listen to this playlist, I get so sad and start to tear up. It just brings back so many memories with my cousins whom I grew up with, with my siblings. Knowing that something as precious as those memories will never be relived again. As we grow older our sense of togetherness slowly drifts away. And it brings back the time when my dad was still alive and well. All this nostalgia that will never be experienced again. It's depressing but thank god they made me the person I am today. Thanks again to games like these and the creators they've definitely made my childhood awesome!

I think Resident Evil's 2 Save Room is the scariest. This song reminds me when I was a child and I'd watched my brother play this game. :D

I must say, The Evil Within was a huge success in my opinion. The fact that they had a save room with it's own music, that would definitely win some Resident Evil fans over right there. Very creepy, yet very fun game to play. First playthrough I was scared throughout pretty much the entire game.

Am I seriously the only one who dosent really like the RE2 save theme that much? All the others let you interpret how you are supposed to be feeling whilst RE2's blatant sinister undertone to the song just kinda dispells any other emotions that you could have felt aside from "ooh spooky"...

I dunno Why, but I kinda feel Serenity from the RE4 OST should be on this too, even if it`s not an actual save room theme. It only ever played with the merchant and it made Me actually feel save, it helped that it actually was save too.

Those days when I was in high school used to play this game everyday after school... what a nostalgia

The RE2 tune is one of the most haunting. When I came in there with the door shutting behind me and hearing that music I Always felt such great stress relief. "I'm safe...for now".

it wasn't short, playing through both campaigns would take you a minimum of 6 hours and only if you knew the whole walkthrough by heart. Atmosphere, soundtrack, enemies and locations (streets, police station, sewers, train station, umbrella laboratory) are in my opinion the best of the whole series (of course there are some great ones in every resident evil, like the regenerator in resident evil 4). the riddle component was still very strong and I love the fact that it was difficult. I was born in 1996 and I remember as a child, the first RE was the most terrifying thing for me yet it was so facinating. My mother used to play it and since I wasn't allowed to watch her as a child ofc, I always used to hide behind the sofa when she was playing. I was creeped out yet I loved this game & as soon as I grew old enough to play it myself I was sitting in front of my PS1 day and night. I think that game was actually the reason for my love for horror stuff today, though nothing will ever compare to the fear I had back then when I was secretly watching my mother play RE1.

Resident evil 4's typewriter music is the most satisfying music in entire game, i am damn sure it gives chills when you hear tgat sound ,because you know what kind of chaos and madness you have gone through as a protagonist to save president's daughter, it even becomes nostalgic when you see the end of the game ,cuz only the players who have played thia game from starting knows how this whole journey was for them.

I've always loved the save room music. Such a serene grace with a that lonely and foreboding tone that I find so engaging. It's soft yet powerful and I could listen to this these songs all day. Beautiful.
