Residents of the troubled Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape have called for all individuals involved in the corruption relating to the twenty million rand Lesseyton sports field, to be held accountable.
This was after the provincial COGTA department released a forensic report, citing irregularities and the flouting of tender processes.
According to the report, the local authority ignored the top-scoring companies and appointed a company that came out at number four.
It further states that the appointed contractor escalated prices during the project, without following proper tender processes.
