I lived two blocks away from here in the late 90’s and I recognized the red house immediately because my family would take evening walks through the neighborhood. Prayers for everyone! 🙏

After living in Juneau for forty years I can tell you one irrefutable fact. It is wet up there. Plan for it.

As the Pole Shift continues to ramp up storms will unfortunately be more severe and unpredictable. Stay safe everyone.

Going to need a lot of contractors in their to help dry out those homes and make them livable again, hope they will be available. Is help available from the Federal Government, we seem to take care of millions of Illegal folks coming in, maybe Federal disaster Agency to step up and help.

I was born in Juneau in 1956. We lived on Douglas Island. We left in 1959 for California and then to Oregon. Do you have a problem with that?

Glad I moved out in 1998. A major tsunami would be devastating to Juneau. No evacuation plans yet.

Build a few yards from the river bank and then be surprised when the river rises or changes channels. That's why insurance companies don't usually insure against flooding. Fortunately the Federal government will insure for flooding at taxpayer expense.

They'll be OK. Those are good income homes. Pray for people in war torn countries. I bet there are several women in Afghanistan that would trade places with the lady in the interview.

Let's build a neighborhood next to a river, I mean, what could go wrong?
@LoveJulian06
@LoveJulian06 2 месяца назад
Building right next to the river wasn’t the problem. Those houses are 26 ft above sea level and the tides in AK have immense highs and lows plus with this glacial surge, it’s basically a mini tsunami. Flooding can happen anywhere in the world and it’s ignorant for you to say it’s because they live next to a river.
@LoveJulian06

How did it flood if it's not a flood zone lol LMFAO 😂 That's oxymoron
@LoveJulian06
@LoveJulian06 2 месяца назад
@@thewiseguy3529 you must not be a home owner…a flood zone is where insurance companies require the home to have flooding insurance because it’s in an area that is prone to flood. If flood insurance isn’t required, you’re not in a flood zone. That doesn’t mean flooding cannot occur…your comment is ignorant because obviously flooding can occur anywhere in the world.
