Check out Harmony Audio Monolith Subwoofers, and the offerings from my favorite subwoofer brand Sevard. I've heard nothing but good things from the monolith series (especially for the price) and same too with Sevard. Sevard subs will compete against subwoofers twice their price. Though to be honest if you are going to spend that much I would look at getting something from Rhythmik subwoofers, or even get an RSL Speedwoofer and modify it for your vehicle (get an amp for it and bypass the 110 volt amp part of the subwoofer). Both are excellent subwoofers, and I think would work great in a car or SUV stereo application. No knocks against Sundown, it's just I don't like following what all the sheeple are doing in the world. And make sure to get an amp that has a "high damping rate" something above 200 for your subwoofer. Good luck!
Though this Resiliant Sounds is a monster too, and doubt you would be disappointed with it as well. Just remember what I said about the amp. That is so important with a subwoofer, and a hard number to find with most car amplifiers.
Correction, Rhythmik is no longer offering their drivers individually? Which I don't understand because they have both 4 ohm and 8 ohm subs (3 ohm and 6 Ohm actually) But maybe I'm wrong. They do make great subwoofers, that's all they do. Just like Sevard for the most part. They make a few really good quality offerings and don't have the many different series as other brands do. Anyway. take care.
A Qts below 0.6 usually means a speaker should be in a ported enclosure, while a Qts above 0.7 is better. suited for a sealed box. The Qts of this onyx is 0.26. Box must be ported or you'll leave out a lot of performance.
