You are so funny! I loved the way these turned out! Your comments was the funny part. I think it would be easier to make a beach tray than those little keychains! You did a great job. I’m not patient enough. Thank you.
These turned out great!! I have a flower farm and wanted some added value items to sell. So I am going to make dog/cat tags using dried flowers, glitter, whatever. On the doming part, did you use the same resin, mixed the hardner too, same as all the layers of resin? Or is there a special final coat resin. Thanks for making a fun video.
Great idea using dried flowers for making pet tags! I hope they sell well for you! For these tags, I used UV resin to dome the tops. You could use the same 2-part or whatever epoxy resin mixture used for all other layers. I'm just lazy and used UV resin to finish the last step (doming) quickly.
So I made some beach pop sockets and my sand ended up mixing up into my blue colours that was sky/sea? How did you avoid that did u let sand dry first?
@amyhenderson4748 Hi! You are correct. Short answer: My sandy resin mix had time to cure (tacky consistency, not full cure) before I poured the blue resin mix. Long answer: After I mix my sandy resin, I let it set for about 10 minutes untouched before pouring. I didn't start mixing my blue resin until after I poured the sandy mix. I also let this set for 10min. By the time I poured the blue resin, the sandy mix cured in the mold for about 20min and was no longer runny. If you're using slow cure resin, you may need to wait longer between pours to make sure the layers don't mix. I hope this helps!
Thanks! I use "The Epoxy Resin Store" brand of 2 part (1:1 ratio) clear epoxy resin from Amazon.com. I get 1 gallon for tabletop coating for appx. $55 USD. It takes longer than most craft resin to cure (harden) completely. I do a lot of tabletop resin projects, but it also works great for small projects, too.
Hi! Sanding smoothed the rough edges and uneven surface. I sanded the edges, sides, and the fronts of the pieces. I didn't bother with the backs because I thought they looked OK as-is. After I placed the letters for the names on the fronts, I domed them (added more resin) and that created the shiny look again after sanding. I didn't bother with the sides because I didn't care that they weren't shiny.
where can i find the stick on Tape with the names? by the way ur pieces came out great caught my eye when i opened my RU-vid Home page and saw Ur thumbnail.
Thank you for the kind words and compliment! I used my Cricut (die cut) machine to cut the names from vinyl adhesive. If you don't have a die cut machine, you could buy letter stickers from a craft store like Hobby Lobby. I've also seen some art my local Dollar Tree. You could also use letter stamps and white paint. Just make sure the paint is dry first if you add more resin on top. I hope this helps.
@@SimplyJellyJam : NP i just call it like it is i really liked ur work and would also like to make exact same, of course if anyone asked i'd gladly say this person Called "Simply Jelly Jam" originally made them so thanks to her i decided to make the same, need to check out Her channel. Also thanks for mentioning how you made the Name unfortunately i yet don't own a Circut machine, but i also liked the names could image you could make them any color? i'd Love me a Roes Gold anything with Pink, may sound funny coming from a Guy but thas my color.
@@ThisOLmaan Any color? No problem! You should definitely use rose gold, pink, or whatever color suits your fancy at the moment. As long as there's a contrast in colors, it should look great! Again, thank you for the kind words. I do appreciate it.
Hi! I used a Cricut Maker to cut the names from permanent vinyl. If you don't have a Cricut, Silhouette, or other die cutting machine, you can use sticker letters from a store like Walmart or Dollar Tree.
If you're using epoxy resin, then yes, you'll have to wait another 24hrs before handling. You can use UV resin and a UV light (or sunlight) for faster curing results.
@Shivam Sumbare Depends on the type of UV l light you use. Typically, it is no longer than 5min with a small UV flash light or one designed for curing nail polish. About an hour if left under the sun on a warm or hot day. Personally, I just touch the edge to see if it feels tacky. If it's tacky, it doesn't hurt to leave it under the light a few minutes longer.
Thanks! I didn't pay attention to the font sizes since it varied for each tag. I'd guess 24pt maximum for the larger tags.? I measured the molds width and height, then I resized the text within Cricut Design Space to match. I hope this helps.
Hi! I used a skinny wooden craft stick at first and a few different metal stir tools. The stir tools were part of a resin tool kit I bought like this set on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Pieces-Resin-Silicone-Measuring-Mixing/dp/B08HJFZ7RN/ref=mp_s_a_1_21?crid=18TRBJMDFBHA0&keywords=resin+tools&qid=1644556466&sprefix=resin+tools%2Caps%2C165&sr=8-21 I hope this helps!
Si je n’ai pas de machine à imprimer les noms est-ce que je peux les peindre avec de la peinture acrylique ? Ensuite ajouter une couche de résine transparente par dessus ?
I hope I got the right translation for your questions... Yes, you can use acrylic paint for the name. Allow it to dry completely before adding another layer of resin.
Hi! I bought them off Amazon.com for about $5 USD: www.amazon.com/Super-Silicone-Crafting-Jewellery-Casting/dp/B08V1NHRBR/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=silicone+pet+tag+molds&qid=1633978782&sr=8-3
