I felt it was time to do something in a vibrant green. Looking back at this set I think if I did it again I would leave out the burnt umber color, I think the end result is absolutely stunning but I wanted the purple to stand out more.

Christy LOVE these wow love the colors but the purple looks magenta after dried but glad you switched from light purple to darker purple and silver looks great you know the glass has a gold hue before you put silver leaf so bet gold would also look great! Love your artistic talent although your Halloween stuff did frighten me a little 😂 anyway you know I love your work! You brighten my day💋

Yes I was just hoping that if I tried what you did but instead of mixing the acrylic ink I used alcohol ink I’d get similar result assuming that is that the acrylic ink you used was a transparent kind not opaque otherwise I will try with pigment powders

So pretty!!! Have you used Stone Coat Art Resin to make coasters? If so, how do you feel about it? I’ve used it for other resin pieces (canvases) but I’m not sure how it would hold up for coasters and would love your input. Im mostly concerned about the heat resistance once set.
@ResinAsYouWish
@ResinAsYouWish 3 года назад
Hi, I’ll tell you my experience (so it’s just one perspective) I used art resin on a trinket dish and it turned out beautiful- however after a year of sitting there it’s still pretty but has so many minuscule scratches and scrub marks that it is not glossy anymore. I have only used countertop epoxy to make coasters and the sets I have remain perfect as when they were newly made. I said all of that because Stonecoat makes many kinds of resin at different viscosity based on what you will use it for. Since a coaster is treated like a countertop I don’t use art resin on them. Also, to fully answer your question, I’ve never specifically used the art Stonecoat, only the countertop specific version.

Hi , absolutely stunning, how long did you leave the first layer of resin to settle before putting on the other layer of resin? 😊
@ResinAsYouWish
@ResinAsYouWish 3 года назад
Hi, I wait for the resin to be hard enough to tap on, for the resin I use, that's about 12 hours, but I do my layers daily so it ends up being 12-24 hours for me.

I never use any heat on my molds, only alcohol, I don't get any bubbles, however, my molds still break down. How often do you replace you molds?
@ResinAsYouWish
@ResinAsYouWish 3 года назад
Not often. They eventually break down after the mold plastic is no longer shiny.

Is alcohol ink different than acrylic ink?
@ResinAsYouWish
@ResinAsYouWish 3 года назад
Yes, they’re very different, alcohol causes a reaction in resin and is highly flammable
@lisashapiro3570
@lisashapiro3570 3 года назад
@@ResinAsYouWish yes but we use alcohol ink in resin all the time - bummer though since I wanted to try it but I don’t have any acrylic ink
@ResinAsYouWish
@ResinAsYouWish 3 года назад
@@lisashapiro3570 hi, I think I misunderstood what you were asking. I use alcohol ink to color resin the same way I use acrylic ink. Dropping alcohol ink on top of resin has a different reaction. You can use it in resin different ways

Hi, there is a picture of the back of these on their Etsy listing here: pin.it/20K3UYN - I do talk in some of my videos but there are quite a few on the channel where I don’t. Due to throat surgery I haven’t been able to talk for a couple months, but there are plenty of fabulous resin channels out there 👍

You don’t need to talk in all your videos. What is nice is that you always list the colors you use and you tell us the steps you are doing. The instructions are very clear. You are a great artist!! Love all your coasters and I even purchased one!!!!! Thank you for sharing your technique.
