Thank Leona, i'm a military / wargaming modeller, and i confess, i not know a single idea on how to make anime skin, clothes fine, accessory perfect......... skin... oh no how can i do it , if the skin not from gritty middle-age soldier/warrior . Now thank to discover your channel, i finally dare to do those Kantai Collection GK that i always want to make
*2022 edit: For those continuously asking about where I got my torsos to practice... guys I said I made them myself 😑 in fact, there's a link to an amazon listing to where I purchased the molds, stop asking and read the damn descriptions! If the item is no longer available, then just look for a premade silicone mold of a torso, there are tons of those on amazon. ****************************************** Looks like a few of you here didn't pay attention to what I originally said, that Part 1 was for acrylics, part 2 was for lacquer and part 3 was for clear lacquers. To all of you commenting about the Mr. Hobby CL line, those come in Part 3.
Pero entonces que es lo que tu usas normalmente?, hehehe, mi problema es que los vallejo, incluso tratando antes la pieza con acetona, la pintura salta, que me recomiendas para evitar eso?
So since my last comment a few hours ago, I have seen so many of your videos. Your tutorials are so well done! Speaking from experience is not easy to do. I have a few on my channel for drawing and its hard! Thanks to your tutorials now I feel like I am ready to tackle my Alita kit once it arrives. I will be using brush for painting though so wish me luck. Thank you so much!
Great continuation. Just a side note. In the Mr. Colour range, you also have number 51 flesh, which does give you another shadowing option. Great work and thank you for all you do.
Thanks for the reviews Leona... I'm not sure if it would fit here or part 3 but Mr. Hobby also makes the (Flesh Color Set for Figure) CS551. It looks similar to the Gianotes in this review. The four paint shades are included in the one box. Cheers!
Thank you for the tutorial! Helped my decision when getting paint! But I’m having a hell of a time putting down the white primer. Always gets chalky on my figure, any tips? It’s mr hobby 1500 white primer.
Thank you for another great video. Looking forward to your next video. By the way, Mr. Color have another skin tone #51 which is slightly darker than #111. Kotobukiya kits ask to mix those together to get a certain skin tone on their manual for Frame Arms Girl series. Also, check on GundamPlanet for the paint you couldn't find. They stock them regularly however, they get sold out pretty fast.
That's interesting because Gaia Notes has Frame Arms Girl specific paints to use. I guess it's a matter of licensing. Have you heard of Mr. Color's new Lascivius paints? They come in two base paints and you use three different clear color tones on top of them, peach orange and brown.
@@stevethefishdotnet Yes I read about those clear color. I held off buying those until I knew how to use them. Patiently waiting for Leona's tutorial. The Kotobukiya still uses a color code for Mr. Color even on their new kits. I am not sure why either considering their partnership with Gaia note.
@@EggyBuilds I have used the Lascivus paints and they're pretty easy. I guess that's what Leona meant by "clear lacquers," but they work in tandem with opaque lacquer base coats. I just uploaded a video of an Eggplane Mig-15 which comes with a resin figure. You can see it used in this build series.
Huh apparently painting skin tone is more complex than painting military plamo or gunpla. Thanks for the tutorial though! Gonna practice it on Megami Device kit!
Hi Leona, This week I've used the Bome character flesh paint set (well, half of it). There are four colors. Base color Carrot Orange used with Pale Orange as topcoat, as well as Coral Pink basecoat used with Milky Peach topcoat. I used the latter set, and it was WAY TOO DARK PINK! I mean, like melanoma sunburn stuff. I had used a white primer underneath, but boy does this _NOT look at all like the pictures in the pamphlet it come with!_ I ended up having to do a third coat of Lascivus White peach, misting it on to get the fleshtone I wanted for my GK. Definitely pass on this one!
Hey Leona, can we get a kinda general step by step for garage kit painting? You could probably even do cuts of existing vids and tutorials for the kind of walk through I have in mind, but light and easy, would be the ideal.
Hi Leona, thanks for introducing me to the Gaia Notes flesh colors. I have their flesh surfacer, but haven't used it yet. Tamiya is just now releasing their flesh tone as a lacquer, #LP-66. It's identical to their acrylic flesh, XF-15, so you aren't missing anything. I do own the Mr. Color Bome color set, but have not had the opportunity to use it yet. (What can I say? I live in Japan, so these are cheap and I can buy this stuff on a whim.) I do, however have the Mr. Color Lascivus paints and they are much easier to use than the Bome paints since they are three clear colors that are sprayed onto two base colors, white peach and cocoa. I assume you weren't able to get these paints? Let me know and I can send you some. We can make PayPal arrangements if you'd like. I will be using the new Lascivus paints in an upcoming video. Hasegawa has been getting into resin figures a LOT lately, and they're going wild with their Eggplane Girls. Something you may be interested in is Tamiya Weathering Master G , which has three accent colors you apply with a make-up sponge. These would do well for smaller figures. Lastly, Tamiya has just released a new Figure Accent Color, Pink Brown. This enamel wash is to be used for shading smaller figures and perhaps detailing areas like mouths and ears on larger kits.
mmmh well the difference is just chemistry, but the only other difference would be the durability, it doesn't scratch that easily compared to acrylics and you could clean it with a tiny bit of water, not a lot tho.
It depends, all paint can scrape and scratch, in my experience, it depends if you seal the paint properly but I've never found a brand that I could seal tamiya with and not have the sealant react badly with it 😬
You’re videos are great. I’m not a resin kit painter, but I was looking for tips on painting the flesh parts of model kits such as Frame Arms Girls and Megami Device. This helped a lot!
There's another set of mr color flesh paints, the LASCIVUS line, idk how hard it is to get in the west though. Here's a link to the first in the line www.mr-hobby.com/en/itemDetail.php?iId=2880 They're about $10 on Amazon if you're in the US.
