Insomniac Games just decided to develop a whole new gameplay mechanic for the last 5 minutes of the game. This is pure dedication. I remember being so baffled by it. It was like that one moment from Blood Dragon where you got to experience two of the most overpowered weapons: the Killstar and a literal talking dragon. I love it when developers let you rest a little and have some "primal" fun with killing everything at the end of the game.
Damn this video was nostalgic to watch, This was the first game i've ever completed. I remember really feeling like a god once you'd receive those ''telekinesis'' powers rushing trough that place breaking down. Quite underated game aswell unfortunately, If it weren't for Insomniac Games Resistance / Ratchet & Clank, i probabaly woulnd't have been the gamer i am today lol.
Can we talk about how the wormhole is clearly seen in Mexico at the end of Resistance 2, but in Resistance 3, the wormhole is in New York for no explained reason?

They need to bring this series back. Sony still have the license (in fact they renewed it either last year or in 2015). They could and should do one of the following: make a sequel to this by ignoring Resistance 3 and deliver on all the build up in this game, or somehow make a sequel to Resistance 3 that will deliver on the build up of this game... Basically bring the series back properly but take a few notes from the first game and continue the true hidden story in this game.
Daniel Moyle Maybe they can say there is another portal in russia since thats where the initial invasion took place and we have to destroy it from their side, cross the portal (the srpa black ops soldiers have air tight suits maybe this could be why) and fight a pure chimera and get a glimpse of their homeworld

@@dimbrightmanthis might be an unpopular opinion even in the Resistance fanbase, but I actually think Hale was better off without a defined personality, at least in the first game. The way I see it, that helped make the game ever so slightly more immersive in a way because it allowed you to feel like you weren’t just playing as Hale; rather, you WERE Hale, and you were free to project whatever thoughts you wanted onto whatever/whoever you came across in the post-apocalyptic setting. I think the main mistake the developers made in relation to Hale was that they didn’t really go into much detail about his backstory in the games like they did in the expanded material even when it potentially could’ve shed some light on some of his bolder actions, particularly his fateful decision to refuse the inhibitor treatments and let the infection take its course even after Daedalus started getting into his head.
There was so much story buildup and development in resistance 2. Especially if u read the Intel. It's like insomniac was going somewhere big with the series. . . And then in resistance 3 they just threw all of what they hinted at in R2 out the window.
Atomized How so? I think the story went the perfect route heading into R2. Well, aside from the fact that the Chimera supposedly lost control after the Angel was killed yet they were stronger than ever in R2. I imagine that was Daedulus' doing.

I'd always be listening to podcasts, on the forums, you name it. then when resistance 3 came out and they just. . .dropped the story, all the effort from the first two games just leave it on a cliche survival game. I gave up on insomniac. I just wish Sony would revive the series and task it to another studio. if that's even possible lol.
SZ S No, no, no, no.*I* was the biggest Resistance fan. Well, still am. I still believe it has GREAT potential if given to the right person. So much background left untold, and I have my theories. For instance, the pure chimera once populated Earth (perhaps they were what we now call dinosaurs, during the Ice Age most likely) before humans landed on the planet and took over. All the weapons and ships were theirs, before the Chimera adapted to them. I imagine after years of war, humans created the towers to create a wormhole and teleport almost all chimera to another planet. Because the wormhole was a two-way door, some of the other planet's land was sucked into Earth, thus burying the towers and ships. Humans had no choice but to dig tunnels outward and begin a new life... - sigh - but this may never be...
Uncharted Galaxy no Hale was turning into a chimera the reason he said that at the end was because all chimera have a hive mind so he heard voices through the same hive mind as Daedalus
hale had turned into a much more powerfull creature then daedalus considering they both had the same virus implanted in their bodies by malikov if capelli didnt shoot hale he would have been death in seconds and hale would become a unstoppable replacement for daedalus
so wait, where did those shattered planets go in resistance 3? those look like they're big enough to be seen from all over the world, let alone the United States. Were we supposed to learn what they are? What happened to Earth? What did the towers and flagship actually do at the end here?
Why do people hate the ending I do hate how hale died but he knew with the little humanitie he had he wanted to die he could have easily killed joe but he didn't
I've never really known of ppl hating the ending, moreso ppl hating that the ending wasn't followed up on in the 3rd game, the devs basically ignored everything that happened previously
The ending was great and iconic but it just hit you and felt rushed And resistance 3 was also a great game (one of my favourites) but it didnt fit the resistance type of game without the army and all that I'm not hating bc I love the game one of my favourite series below borderlands tho
If they continue the ending instead of leaving in the dark this game might get more praises. The game is awesome but the ending make the game fail. The lure and everything was building up but the ending knocked it down. At least it was redeemed in part 3
Resistance 3 story was rushed and all the build up of resistance 2 for a big last game was thrown out of the window, where were the pure Chimera, why was the Wormhole so small in Resistance 3, but so big in 2, why would it be enough to destroy the Tower with the Wormhole to beat the Chimera after the Chimera were able to conquered nearly the whole world without any Tower or Wormhole. Resistance 3 had good gameplay and some cool new ideas for Chimera, but story wise it failed to deliver.
I know im late but it kinda seems like he took over hales body at the end. Maybe the body he inhabited was near its end and he transported to hales body just as a means of staying alive? especially considering the ship was going to be blown up and I doubt he had any means of escaping before it did, so maybe he willingly let hale think he won so he could hijack his body and escape? Just a thought. Either way I wish more of this game was explained. I feel like up until 3 they had a pretty cohesive story, or at the very least followable, but then 3 just kinda left a lot of gaps that didn't really explain much. I haven't played 3 but I've seen videos. What were the 2 destroying "planets" at the end? Where did they even come from? besides a bunch of other things that were left out that I can't really leave in one comment, especially considering that its been so long since ive last refreshed myself on the series, but I still dont remember 3 really fitting in at all. Either way, aside from all that which had nothing to do with your comment, I think it was probably intentional. Likely for self preservation reasons
No, we know Daedalus didn’t have the power Hale acquired after touching him because if that was the case, he could’ve used it to kill at least one of the other sentinels instantly without even using his tentacles. Those powers seem to have been unique to Hale, though we still don’t know why he ended up being more powerful than Daedalus in the end. Perhaps that ability could only be activated by Hale absorbing Daedalus’ energy and then becoming one with him; don’t forget, he and Daedalus (formerly Jordan Shepherd) were unique to Project Abraham in that they were the only sentinels created through injections of “pure chimera” DNA rather than the chimeran virus.
So annoying that if you die while he tears apart the walls you gotta sit through the entire thing all over again, because dev's didn't put in a checkpoint. But all through the game there are unnecessary checkpoints abound
I know I never played This or the first one. I still wonder why 3 got so much hate. I thought it was great. Still wonder why This ending and 3s ending SUCKED. I also hate that they had to kill Nathan Off. Just wish they could pick the series back up.
Damnit, I really liked this game but this ending :/ I didn't want Hale to die :( He was awesome, at LEAST he could be the enemy in Resistance 3 but noooo, that'll make fans too happy :( Oh and the superpowers are really lame, I mean, I'd rather just have the guns rather than a superpower that is only effective if you are standing within 1 foot of a guy :P It's kinda like a melee attack lmao :D
SoldierGeneral64 Yeah exactly. By the end of Resistance 2, we loved Hale and wanted to see him succeed. I even wanted him to succeed when he turned evil. He's like Darth Vader. But imagine Darth Vader dying in Episode IV... just wouldn't work, and people would be outraged. Hale is such a cool character to die from a flimsy pistol shot.

Why does the enemy have to take something turning back to normal? Are you trying to say that the developers were so dumb to not get over to another idea? Oh and by the way the enemy DID have the way to go back in their hands. Remember after he was totally possessed and dead? They found a cure from that. But it would have been way better if they had Nathan alive.
+chan young Choi I completely agree. Nathan Hale was amazing, they honestly killed the series when they killed off Nathan. It also should have been set in modern day instead of the 1950's, the humans would have a better fighting chance against the Chimera with modern technology.
ArkhamChild Well even if the Resistance series was set in the 2000's humanity would have still had a very difficult time against the chimera. They still do have advanced alien technology such as lasers, spaceships and robots not to mention the devastation of the Chimera virus. I just feel that the series would have been much more interesting and fun if it were set in modern times. Imagine using AC-130s or Predator drones against the Chimera!
